>best game this gen
>a last of us inspired stealth horror with enemies with vision cones of 12 degrees, and instant kills the best game of this gen
I really liked TEW despite the problems it had.
Hope the sequel turns out well.
Seriously shut the fuck up you goddamn casual. You probably played the first few hours on casual and couldn't fucking wrap your head around the gameplay mechanics and gave up.
For those of us who understood and mastered its intricacies and beat it on akumu, it's a fucking top notch, perfectly paced experience of absolute lunacy even better than RE4
>last of us inspired
This made me laugh. Thanks user
I ejoyed TEW, but is this bait?
The evil within is missed potential the game but the setting to me was seriously great.
If they can make more levels like that amazing mansion chapter and none of those shitty city levels, add more survival to the survival horror (actual trapmaking) and use less insta kills then they easily get to atleast dead space 2 quality levels.
Unless they throw out all the crazy shit and stick to puzzles opening new areas with more puzzles etc. i couldn't give less of a shit.
>prey 2
>implying that rusty cage is ever gonna break
>Tango isn't making a new IP, but TEW2
That's really disappointing. I loved TEW, but I was hoping we'd see more ideas.

The first three chapters were literally the worst chapters you fucking retard. I bet you unironically thought Alien Isolation was good.
This was literally my most hyped announcement aside from a New Vegas sequel by Obsidian.
I bet you like RE4.
Is the director coming back? I remember hearing Evil Within was to be his last project.
the first was trash with a stupid staff and recycled monsters. will not buy
I do, but less than TEW
Mikami? Idk, I sure hope so.
...
See, i wanted TEW to be REmake with 3rd person combat. Tone, style, puzzles, exploration like the REmake and i got a weird mix between RE4(no puzzles, constant action) and Silent Hill(crazy world that could change at any moment because it's not real).
>The evil within is missed potential the game
It absolutely did not. It was a game that exactly what it set out to do. You retards can take the story as seriously as you want, but it wasn't the draw. The action and the replay value was what made the game so great.. It was like a classic PS2 game with excellent visual design, and was easily top 5 best games of its year.
Glad they're working on a sequel.
Can someone summarize the plot of the DLC packs?
Never played 'em.
>The Evil Within 2 confirmed
>"Evil Within 2 rumored for E3"
>Bethesda advertises it as return to survival horror
>it is survival horror
>but it's not scary like Resident Evil
When was RE scary?
Not him, but some things really do seem copy/pasted from TLoU and I'm not trying to say TLoU is a good game, but you'll probably assume that anyway.
When Nemesis could follow you through rooms
There's quite the difference between frantic action and scary horror. 5 axe wielding villagers surrounding you is the former while a dimly lit hallway with moaning and slurping noises in the distance that you can't see is the latter.
>The best game of this gen
EW had both of those.
It literally is. Mikami said it himself.
>implying Wolfenstien New Order wasn't better than Evil Within
>The game is disliked because its hard
More like because its an uninspired RE4/TLOU casual piece of shit.
Ayylmao isolation is the superior horror game.
>The action
Irrelevant for horror games.
>It was like a classic PS2 game
I agree, because it was shit
Shit game, was going to buy it, watched some gameplay though luckily and realised it was some linear bitch ass "horror" game
Exactly. A survival horror game has only the latter. How many healing items do i have? Can i walk down that corridor yet? What if i don't have enough ammo to kill that monster? What if i die? My last save is an hour old, should i risk it or just go back to the save room and pick up more stuff? But i can't, what if i run across a puzzle that needs those two items that i have to keep in my inventory? But i also need to carry that key.
This is fucking survival horror.
