What next for From, now that their contract with Bamco for three DaS games is done? They signed with Sony for two more PS4 collaborations with SCEJ, so what do you think that'll yield? More not quite-Souls like BB, a resurrected IP or something altogether different?
And more importantly, will it appear at E3 this year?
theyre making a brand new non-soulslike IP apparently. I pray miyazaki-san has what it takes to blow us the fuck away again with something original like he did with demon's souls
we'll see
Henry Harris
they will probably make a vr game for sony, I imagine that they will probably end up making another souls like game for bamco/sony down the line, but I don't see miyazaki being involved heavily, part of the reason he seems to be against it is that these universes need to time to incubate, and time needs to be spent allowing them to breathe
Also, isn't the two more ps4 collaborations a yet unconfirmed verendus rumour?
He has a good history with some of what he lists, but he has also listed erroneous ones in the past
I imagine that the vr game situation is probable because Kadowaka have previously expressed interest in this through things like project code and the other one, and from software was listed as a potential vr developer
Juan Long
But I want another soulslike in an unique world
David Morris
i hope to high fuck that it's not a vr game. vr is nothing more than a shitty gimmick.
Adam Campbell
PLEASE
Ian White
i dont. i'm sick of soulslikes for at least five years.
Carter Moore
>They signed with Sony for two more PS4 collaborations
so more shitty meme games with single digit fps that shitposting cross-boarding sonygaf sonygger faggots will praise as the second coming of christ despite being literally and objectively mediocre 7/10s by ign standards? cant wait desu. really gonna be some great discussion in the future, with all the meme goldfaces and crying wojaks with steam hats on, isn't that simply epic? thank god for based miyazaki

>What next for From, now that their contract with Bamco for three DaS games is done?
There was never a contract. From publishes the games themselves in Japan. Namdai just bought the publishing rights for places outside of Japan.
Besides, now that they're done milking this shit; we could easily get another entry of pic related, especially considering they didn't do anything for the tenth anniversary.
Aiden Brooks
Sci-fi souls. pls
Adrian Cooper
This so much. 4 and For Answer were so damn good.
Gabriel Watson
see? isn't this epic? haha XD great response my man bazinga!!!
Sebastian Fisher
You're mad as fuck, bro, chill

So why did From contract with Bamco anyways? Couldn't they have just gone to Atlas again? They've been keeping the Demon's servers up for all this time, they clearly care more about the games than Bamco does. Would've saved us the pain of ceaseless GIT GUD SO HARDCORE XD marketting, DaS2 being rushed, and DaS3's totally fucked launch.
Yeah, the "two in the can with SCEJ" thing is one of his, though he seemed completely adamant development had already started on the first of the two, but the only thing he'd say about it was that it was "a JRPG" (Though he considers Souls JRPGs, so that doesn't mean a whole lot). This was back in October last year, iirc. A few months later, it was officially confirmed in a press release that From had signed on with Sony for a PSVR project sometime in the future, so presumably this'd be one of them (Assuming he was right, of course. A new King's Field, maybe?).
Now obviously this one is less credible, so take it with a huge pinch of salt, but an user who claims to be the game guy who leaked those Gravity Rush 2 documents last year has been spouting off on both Sup Forums and /ps4g/ for months now, saying that the first one ISN'T a VR game and that it's an pseudo-open world sci-fi/horror (Think Giger's Alien-type stuff) JRPG with a heavy focus on online interactivity. That could be kinda interesting, assuming it's true.
One half of the Lords of the Fallen devs are doing a sci-fi Souls clone called "The Surge", though it'll undoubtedly be mediocre.

Something that isn't souls holy shit.
Joshua Rogers
pcuck gone cray cray
Levi Mitchell
I want a new IP. Maybe a little more of a traditional RPG. I want them to really get the creative juices flowing. I think churning out souls titles really held them back a bit.
Colton Jones
Looking forward to the SCEJ collab announcements. Bloodborne was GOAT. Wouldn't surprise me if one of them was Demon's Souls remastered, and the other a new Soulsborne in a futuristic setting.
William Bell
Anything to see more pcuck tears

>we don't want another souls rehash! >pls gibe us another armored core rehash I fucking hate you people Deep world exploration with character customization >>>>>>>>>>>> session based missions with muh giant robot customization
Levi Long
at most it will be compatible with psvr, since even third person games are helped by vr
What if its deep exploration WITH giant robot costumization?

I NEED MORE SOULS

It won't work. Only if we play as an autonomous android, so then it will fit the soulslike themes. But not the giant mechas.

Lost Kingdoms III Otogi 3

Yes. Screw the idiots with "muh souls fatigue". I can't play any other games other than FS souls games, they're just so good that other games are turned into a piece of crap.

>Released in North America half a year after its Japanese release, in the middle of 2003, Otogi: Myth of Demons was loved by critics. It won EDGE's 2003 Game Awards as the Graphical Achievement of the Year, and many heaped praise on its musical score. Like many critically acclaimed niche titles, however, it didn't sell very well, and moved around 130,000 copies, 80,000 of those North American. This same pattern was repeated with the release of its sequel in North America almost a year after the Japanese release, with love from critics but a lukewarm reception in the market, a paltry 40,000 North American copies. One man even sent a letter to Electronic Gaming Monthly, curious on how short EGM's review of the game was, and received a response from the editor-in-chief at the time, Dan Hsu: "As good of a game Otogi 2 is, we still have to acknowledge that relatively few people want to read about it."
Fucking tragic.
William Myers
>It won't work. Only if we play as an autonomous android, so then it will fit the soulslike themes
Predates Souls too.
Colton Howard
Why is completely baseless speculation taken as fact when it comes to From? It seems probable, but there's no real indication at all that there was any three game contract with Bamco or that they won't continue to partner with them.
Jackson Bennett
I want blame!-souls to play as android in search of its artificial memories. Blame! is the ideal manga for soulslike game - it's pure ambient and has a great world to explore.
Chase Bell
sony published bloodborne everywhere and demon's souls in japan
Landon Foster
I remember being 12 at GameStop and the employee convinced me to get this crap over Metal Gear Acid.

Don't forget that Lady Astrea and Garl Vinland are literally a characters in Blame! manga.

I played FS games since King's Field 2 (just King's Field in US) and I don't want any other games other than souls-like
