May I ask why? Any sort of enthusiast would have one already, and literally any PC or phone made in the past 10 years can play DS games better than the actual handheld can.

I imagine that you didn't have to pay much for it, but the hinges on the DS Lite are known for breaking. Aside from that, DS Lite was great, though I prefer DSi.

DS is cheap and has a great aesthetic/feel, so if you just want to play a pokemon game or two, get that.

When you hack your 3ds there's a "patch" of sorts that you have to follow very carefully in order to apply it to your system so it can "unlock" the DS flascards. They were blocked after a certain point by nintendo updates so you basically reverse your system back only on that part.

Hackable 3ds is firmware dependent. Go ask on homebrew general on /vg/, I think 10.7 was the last hackable firmware.

ds lites have GBA slot as well. you can get the pinnacle of the series (gens iii-v) on one handheld
