Is this a PS1 game?
Yes, yes it is.
What game
Scare, user. The proper term is "scare".
Good taste. But mine is better.
looks like king's field
7 days to die as silly as that sounds.
Sometimes i forget that game has zombies in
it and one of thoes fuckers sneaks up on me,
the fucking crunch of the hit and its moan
make me fucking jump.
Is that Darklurker? DS2 is just KFV isnt it.
What is this ?
Thief
My and my buddy watched his older brother play Half-Life 2. He got to Ravenholm and we both left the room screaming.
What are some games where enemies kill you with finishing moves/animations? I know about Resident Evil and Dead Space, but I was wondering if there's others.
Heart of Darkness
yes
Yes.
More importantly did a game that was not intended to be scary ever scare you?
Amnesia terrified more than anything in my life.
It was like walking in the nightmares of my childhood. Real life cannot scare me this much because in real life, adrenaline kicks in and I feel no fear anymore, but in this game, I know I'm safe, so no adrenaline, but full fear.
Absolutely mindblowing fear.
That's Seath from King's Field 2.
The faceless NPC's who had detailed clothing and didn't do anything but stand around, from Titanic Adventure Out of Time, gave me nightmares as a kid.
Isn't this kind of the hitch with horror games though
Like you only feel scared because you're supposed to, or you don't know what'll happen if you get caught
But if you're bad at the game or just naturally a cynic you kind of realize that the thing can't hurt you, just kill your character in a video game. Big deal, you lose lives in video games all the time. So in a sense the game is only scary as long as you can suspend disbelief.
One could also argue the more shit you are at the game, the easier it is to not be scared, since you're dying all the time and can quickly get used to everything the 'monster' does to you.
Nobodys in kh2 scared the shit outta me.
I even knew beforehand that there are no enemies or game overs in the game. Didn't stop me from shitting my pants on my first time in the basement. And when you wake up in the middle of the night and the piece of shit goes "hmm, why not check out the basement, but now without light?" Nope.
this one, but I was a kid then and Jaws traumatised me already
