It's a good thing that Bobby Prince wasn't the composer either given how half the original DOOM OST's are just shit rips that Prince composed for other bands in the 80s. Don't know anyone would give Mick shit, that guy made KI OST fucking gold.

But then you get shit like how the Doom Slayer was the King of the Knight Sentinels and used a sword and shield as his weapons.

This game is 100% shit. That being said I swear to the lord thy god if they name the expansion "Repercussions of Evil" I will take back everything I ever said about it and buy the game.

Except the game has a really slow start. It's not for a bit til you find the Chainsaw, Machine gun, and Plasma Gun, and start fighting new enemies like the Hell Razer, Hell Knight, and such.

You failed at both and I am also not implying whether this game is shit or not; I don't know where my post implies that I liked this game either.

It really doesn't feel like anything but DooM when you are playing it. It's fast, frantic. Low Ammo means that you are constantly switching weapons. All weapons feel unique and are good in different situations. Cutscenes don't last long for the most part and the most important part. It's fun. I haven't had this much fun with an FPS in a WHILE.

Running around looking for secrets, blowing demons the fuck up in various ways. The game feels short, but it's 13 hours long and I want to play it again and I actually want to see what the fuck happens with Samuael and shit.

I didn't think it was that slow, but yeah they did take till the second 'level' to start introducing things, but they had to take it a bit slow for the newbies.

Hopefully in the next 'episode' they will kick it into high gear. I want them to throw specters at me in the first level.

one or two barons of hell. I'm not kidding here. this is their idea of a late game arena wave finish. if you don't believe me, play one of the later maps like necropolis, it's a fucking joke.

I seriously want to love this game, got it for 30 bucks even, but I cannot bring myself to start it again.

That's because that's the first actual 'level', but even that ones a bit slow. It's a mostly straight run, but you have a LOT of things to kill, slowing the pace to a crawl.

Really that's my only complaint about the game is that you don't get a lot of opportunities to just leave everything in the room. Doom let you just run around a lot and almost never locked you in.

There are some. Mostly in the third level when you get the double jump. Things spawn, but you can just run away if you want to and other areas have little side rooms that have just lore bits that you don't need to pick up that are surrounded by monsters. Most of the game is as you said, locking you into a room. I forgive it for that because the gun play is just that fun and I want to blast as much things as possible.

But it's easy to see why some would find that frustrating. Especially as Doom had a nice speed running community and just ignoring any enemies that you could was key to getting a good time.

Hopefully the next game will change the lock down stuff if they get enough feedback. It won't change me wanting to kill everything I can.
