>"The launch content will also include a basic example map that users can copy and modify, which shows some of the things creators can do with Source 2 tools to add interactivity to their destinations."
>"The Destinations Workshop Tools are the same Source 2 tools we use internally at Valve and that the Dota 2 community uses to create custom games," Bui said. "Creating a basic destination is pretty simple, but it can be a bit more involved to build a photogrammetry scene.
"We’ll have some tutorials to help people get started and that goes over some of the best practices we’ve discovered while building our own content. Actually publishing the destination to the Steam Workshop when a content creator is ready is only a few button clicks."
Really, the only thing I want out of Source 2 is for TF2 to support the new Hammer.
The current Hammer is so fucking outdated it isn't even funny.
Jackson Foster
thiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssss omg
Julian Nguyen
I'm still using comfy old Worldcraft. Das it mane.
Nicholas Powell
can you play og warcraft on win10
Jace Allen
Worldcraft, the original quake1/goldsrc/source map editor before hammer.
Easton Jackson
oh ;(
Adrian Diaz
it works on tf2?
Hudson Rivera
So long as the editor isn't anything like Hammer i'll be happy. UE4 has spoiled me.
Chase Clark
Don't care
Joseph Nguyen
>Valve doesn't have any games to release so they just released the engine
Kevin Morris
thats nice, i guess
Ryder Martin
Source 2 has been out for atleast a year
Eli Edwards
All you would have to do to make hammer current is to be able to make corners without having to do 15 different steps. making curved corners is the biggest pain in the ass in the hammer editor. I will have to admit, though. It is 1000x better than any other editor out there.
Dylan Russell
SOURCE 2 CONFIRMED FOR PHOTOREALISM FUCK!
Landon Brown
its actual photos....
Gavin Walker
>what are textures
Austin Sanders
>Valve They never cease to amaze me. What does everyone at that company do? From what I've heard the teams behind CSGO and DOTA2 are very small. They haven't announced/released a game in years. Does every employee just work Steam support or something?
William King
In all seriousness, whether you think VR is a gimmick or not, the rise of the oculus and all others has put all the biggest companies shitting out half expanded consoles every few years to step up their game and put them on their back foot.
Everyone pushing back releases and beefing up their shit so they can get a slice of Virtual Pie.
No one will truly buy into VR until another 2 or so years down the line when "the game" everyone didn't know they wanted comes out and suddenly everyone wants a VR.
No ones made a "Mario 64" of VR yet, but it'll be fuckin interesting when it happens. I will literally pull out all of my wisdom teeth Castaway style and fucking cook them with my eggs the next day when the drugs wear off if it ends up being Nintendo who get the first bright idea of how good VR design philosophy works.
Carson Turner
It's something you feel, user. Its... something.. you feel
Jaxon Murphy
They're busy getting the next orange box ready.
L4D3 is confirmed. I suspect another Day of Defeat due to that random trailer they made and put out. Episode 3 will be in it.
I'm betting a huge dump in the near future at some point, you can just feel it
Camden Thompson
Valve are probably going to shit out a matrix combined with 3d web at some point.
Caleb Bennett
>2016 Valve releasing a package like the Orange Box Never gonna happen. They have no reason to pull something like that again.
Michael Scott
Other than a back log of games they've obviously been working on?
>I suspect another Day of Defeat due to that random trailer they made and put out.
Wot
Parker Morris
nintendo being ahead of the industry since NES? nice jokes m8 i bet on crytek, they're making cryengine more friendly and funding indie development focused on VR so they get more experience on VR game design and when the time's ripe it's gonna invest some serious money with basically no risk since all the indies took it by making VR games first, while also gaining money from royalties if their games are succesfull so it's a win-win for them.
This. They are readying the market for another one.
Christian Stewart
Half Life 3 will be 100% user made content
Jacob Davis
>2013
If you say so.
Lucas Adams
Steam is generating billions on its own, no one at Valve has to work anymore.
Isaac Rivera
>TF3 will never exist
I just want TF2 but with a paywall again
Jayden Garcia
They would just release them one at a time. At this point there is no reason for Valve to release something like the Orange Box in 2016. They own the PC game market place. If they do release the games on consoles, which I doubt they would, they would just use those consoles store fronts.
Blake Lee
They have two offices and over 300 employees. Those people have to do something. Otherwise, why bother having so many?
Camden Torres
Welp, Hat fortress 2.1 confirmed?
Ryder Torres
>implying paywall means shit now Just look at Overwatch playerbase
Connor Cruz
Why would they be holding back multiple games only to release them one after another?
Jaxon Nguyen
Why would they be holding back games at all? If a product is done they would release it. Valve either isn't capable of producing games anymore, or they just don't give a shit about releasing them in a timely manner. Neither would surprise me.
Jason Wright
I feel the same, so I came to the conclusion. New Orange Box.
Adam Fisher
where does it say source 2 is releasing tomorrow? all it says is that it has source 2 technology
Hudson Green
They do things, sure. They just don't finish anything.
Sigh, got my self worked up... still... its' about time we had a new one.
Jaxson Wood
So it's going to be another Valve engine that is a pain in the ass to develop with and have horrible documentation, that Valve will then break repeatedly over the next 5 years bandaid-ing shit in that only works for their games (assuming they even bother to make games by then).
