are there any good sci-fantasy games out there?
Are there any good sci-fantasy games out there?
there will be
Destiny, if it had lived up to the concept. The final product is more or less just another sci-fi shooter with some magic shit thrown in.
E.Y.E. is the only one I can think of
How are you legs? MY LEGS ARE OK
This game was pretty fun for like 2 days
Shadowrun returns, although whether you like it or not depends on your tastes
Do the Might and Magic games count?
>I'll keep coming
Why is he on a cell phone?
What is this???
Skyforge. Its pretty good, the way the classes work is fun.
Destiny's concept art
sauce?
see
Isn't it a grindfest though ?
That's why it's fun for 2 days.
Too bad the gameplay and graphics look on point
The Might and Magic series
Looks like your average MMO combat to me.
My nigga
does MM6 have scifi shit like xeen? playing it for the first time
It's one of the better action MMOs I've played, and all the bosses I've gotten to were fun to fight.
not gonna lie, that design is sexy as fuck and I'm already interested in whatever game its being used for.
is it worth it?
Skyforge is a fantastic game, just do not under any circumstances spend any money on it. It's a paytowin paytogrind piece of shit with some of the most garbage systems design in the history of MMOs.
I was on the cusp of progression for about 8 months, and it's so fucking expensive to keep up with holy shit.
MM6 and 7 have some in the story quests and blasters you can use instead of bows, but not much else.
Endless Legend has pretty amazing story for a strategy game.
Well it cost nothing but time to try, but don't dedicate yourself to it because the grind is pretty ridiculous.
it's a module attached to the helmet. Probably a light/scanner.
Check out the Might and Magic series.
the new shadowrun games are alright
Why?
it's not being used for anything
Other than the fact that Kojima said that it is, why would they go through the trouble to design such a detailed character without intent to use?
That's pretty tight.
Actually, I kinda want a game where someone from "our time" or with "modern" technology goes into a past fantasy world. From our perspective, they are using magic (cause they are) but from their perspective, we are using magic.
The idea of carefully deploying your modern military weapons as ace in the holes or powerups. I'd love to see something like that.
What are some games that mix modern and medieval warfare
I always thought shadowrun was a really cool mesh of fantasy and sci fi. Several games now too, so there's that. It's a turn based RPG if you're into that kind of thing.
Heroes of Might and Magic kinda is.
Shadowrun is a great setting, although I think all of the Returns games so far have fairly shit gameplay.
Dragonfall is written well enough to forget about the poor gameplay though.
When his helmet lifts up it's like a doorstop so the glass doesn't hit that weird jutting appendage above his head.
If you can get past the confusing-as-fuck story, E.Y.E. is right up your alley OP.
Maybe Warhammer 40k? Try out Dawn of War if you like RTS or Space Marine if you like third person shooters.
To attach his go pro.
my battle brothers
honorable mention, probably a battle cousin or something
why did Destiny have to not be good
I liked the gameplay, but I did see ways that it could have been improved a lot.
Strife.
Hyper Light Drifter is all right. The setting and atmosphere are neat, though the combat is admittedly pretty janky.
It's because Shinkawa is a god.
a few
>My.com
its trash
I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR TIDES OF NUMENERA
>fantasy
_______midichlorians________
>drinking the Lucas koolaid
Stealth? Action?
>control + f
>Phantasy Star 0 results
...
Final Fantasy games?
>someone from "our time" or with "modern" technology goes into a past fantasy world
the anime called Gate comes to mind
Shin Megami Tensei 4
>Kojima said that it is
show me
>why would they go through the trouble to design such a detailed character without intent to use?
Kojima is good at marketing
Shining Force
It's a shame its a shitty 240p 3ds game, it was the most cyberpunk out of all the SMT games
Might and Magic series, a good numberof Final Fantasies, Ultima series, Phantasy Star series, EYE and Skyforge are the ones I can think of offhand. You could also argue Shadowrun, Star Wars, SMT, DCUO, Omega Quintet. Atelier Dusk series also has some sci fi elements in it like a nuclear power plant and a floating island being a couple of zones.
Holy fuck don't remind me that exists.
The concept can be taken so many interesting ways.
When they wrote that piece of filth it's like they came up against two ways the story could branch, and they chose the inferior option every single time.
Every time something starts happening, you think: "Oh this could lead THERE, I can't wait. Oh, they decided to do something stupid and boring instead."
Nothing fucking happens throughout the entire show.
The single good point about the show is the absolutely insane caricature of US foreign policy.
Fucking video games man.
Uh, Mass Effect has a lot of the 'science so advanced it appears like magic' thing going on, which somewhat fits the brief.
I wouldn't recommend Mass Effect past the first game though. For obvious reasons.
Shadowrun stuff is probably the best recommendation so far though.
>dat Tokyo Skytree
I think I was in that exact area on my japan stay. That angle and those buildings looks really familiar.
How did you escape the anime dimension?
It's the company's logo.
Sequel when?
Logos aren't extremely detailed 3D renderings
>knight armor modernized
This is aesthetic as fuck. Does anyone have any games/pictures with things like this? 40k would probably come to mind, but I need more.
That bayonet seems awfully short, and how are you supposed to use the grip on that rifle with those gauntlets and your other arm strapped to the shield.
The pistol seems even harder to draw
?
What would the sequel even be about. Universe's been resetted into the present day. Yakuza but with Asura as the protag instead?
>Asura and Kazuma team up
Day-one buy.
e.y.e: divine cybermancy
more so that 2 with its neo tokyo and recreational cyberspace and gladiatorial deathmatches?
This will be FromSoft's next Souls game. I'm calling it.
>Armored Core Souls
I would play the fuck out of that
Not sure if this fits the bill.
When I think of cyberpunk I think of Akira-like but sure.
I'll keep cumming.
I don't think this guy can even raise his arms up
I fucking love this medieval platemail x power armour look. What are some games that pull it off well?
>No sci-fantasy game where you explore the open-world galaxy as an analogue for the golden age of piracy where different races are stand ins for the Spanish/English/French/Dutch/ect (Humans would probably be the English because Anglo=Fully Human) and you go around doing space pirate things
Warframe very fun game
edge of tomorrow ripoff
I'm calling it.
It will always be space wizards and knights to me.
Infinity, but that's a tabletop wargame, not vidya.
The world needs a good Escaflowne type game.
Yeah I know. I'm just shitposting.
fuck yeah
Wish they made a trilogy out of this, but in films instead. Everything was amazing (excluding gameplay)
Would be too bad of an game, for the fans at least
