You guys love to overrate this game.
No, because Hyrule Warriors was.
name a better soundtrack then, faggot
It was pretty good, but it was mostly remixes.
Bayo 2, Bloodborne, Mario 3D World.
Tropical Freeze a shit.
>says this after OP posts David Wise Phones It In: The Game
Why do you hate it?
The game's bad, but the soundtrack is god tier.
Bayo 2 and bloodborne didn't even have good tracks. what are you smoking, niglet?
Can people who hate this game conceptualize why?
It's elevator music.
If the name David Wise didn't already mean something for work he did over 20 years ago, nobody would care about this soundtrack. I say this as someone who really likes DKC and the work he did in the original trilogy.
because some people on Sup Forums say it's good
you're honestly asking why?
I don't respect your opinion
the original trilogy soundtrack is probably the most overrated vidya music in history.
people defend this because they played the games when they were kids, and that's it.
>elevator music
Nigger, this song has Phil Collins-tier drum fills.
youtube.com
You're right, I forget that this board is contrarian in nature.
>I can shitpost and shill at the same time look at me everybody
If you're that desperate, take this (you) and leave.
>starting a thread without posting music
you done fucked up, OP.
Go to bed, Dan Ryckert.
solid picks, although BB is the only one that comes close to Tropical Dong
nigger, did you play Bloodborne?
youtube.com
its easy to shit on stuff
why not name something you like?
I've never been a fan of the souls music
why I have the soundtracks I'll never know
youtube.com
here you go
It's so fucking GOOD.
Though honestly W101 and Splatoon both had god-tier OSTs as well.
It's funny, because it's so much further away from "elevator music" than DKCR was.
God TF really was so good though. I gotta play it again soon. Haven't gotten to try co-op yet.
Same, it's been a while since I've last fired up Tropical Freeze
Filtered.
DKTF's Big Top Bop is one of my top boss themes out there, just love that song.
>started replaying TF because dat soundtrack
>stopped because SF0 came in the mail
>stopped playing that because I got too lazy and just play steam games
what the fuck
This shit right here
mario kart 8
that shit had jazz, it had orchestrated scores, it had the beats and sound.
why is the wiiu home to the best soundtracks this gen?
youtube.com
Where does Sonic Lost World get off being such a mediocre game and having such a rocking final boss theme?
some good tracks but a little too much wankery
I actually just picked this up recently and I must say, people were NOT exaggerating about the difficulty. Holy shit
world 2 boss (the big owl or whatever) is fucking ripping me a new asshole. is this game a lot easier with a second player?
word
Wise's rhythms are what make him stand out
youtube.com
David Wise's music for this game is a 10/10

Having another person doesn't really make much of a difference, at least, that's been my experience. Just wait until hard mode, you will this this is child's play after playing it.
No, it's fucking impossible with a 2nd player. Unless both of you are really good at the game.
At times. Areas with platforms that collapse a second after something lands on them however will destroy friendships and marriages
are you joking?
HW soundtrack is fucking awful apart from like 3 songs
unless you love monotonous, repetitive tracks that sound like they're maybe 40 seconds long on loop
Yeah, for the KONG levels we had to just take turns
Nintendo seriously upped their game in the music department in recent years. Recorded musicians instead of synthesized music makes a big difference.
I wish they uploaded more of those music development videos
I can't believe fucking Mario Kart had session recording, but they went with midi for the Wind Waker remake
It could have been so good
youtube.com
if nintendo actually tanks for some reason, losing possible new good music would be the biggest upset
as shitty as it was. Sticker Star probably had my favourite soundtrack of the generation
>Nintendo music
>good
the only reason i didn't regret buying a wiiu
Yeah, Wind Waker was a pretty barebones remake unfortunately
youtube.com
My fave desu
>NX around the corner
>this generation is basically over
was that it? I can barely think of any decent soundtracks
Maybe I'm just getting too old for vidya
I really enjoyed W101 though
youtube.com
One fucking example, what a terrible company, clearly none of their work is good. This confirms it.
really enjoyed the music in DS3
it gave me a SotN feel
Blame Azrest for that.
>not liking black metal yoshi
Wow, that's........... actually very good. Fucking good. Didn't think From had it in them.
youtube.com
The version when you're zip lining is so fucking smooth.
What's wrong with it?
>2008
:^)
are you being serious?
It sounds like they took a random midi off vgmusic.com and threw a bunch of shitty casio presets on top of it
>Bayo 2
was inferior to first game
but it DID have at least one good track:
youtube.com
even if it was a rip-off of Two-Step's United We Stand
They improved on the mechanics in every way possible. How is it worse?
Im still really upset about Gamespot's review
Not because of Kevin's garbage opinion
But because the fuck heads at gamespot take his review as a reason to ignore the game the entirely of 2014 and that really pissed me off
They rewarded Game of the Month for february to the Lesbian DLC for Last of Us for fucks sake
I didnt mind that at all
It was their discussion not even mentioning Tropical Freeze that REALLY pissed me off
>Inferior to the first game
Only in the story
bayo 2 is completely superior in the gameplay department and level design
>implying Moon River isn't good
i am talking about soundtracks ONLY
but mechanically it WAS inferior to first game
mainly in terms of combat balance and general polish -- thing that non-autistical majority of casual gaming population don't care about
if anything, story is much better in 2
because it is comprehensible for a change -- B1's story is a clusterfuck that only Kamiya himself can explain -- which everyone should do anyway -- watch his Let's Play
it's also has a neat time travel hook that makes it simultaneously a prequel and a sequel and poignant moment with Balder's speech
it's the lack of polish in combat and enemy combat design that makes Pure Platinum run experience so much worse
Not sure what you mean by lack of polish. I don't notice any flaws. Bayonetta moves pretty fluidly, and combos are relatively as deep as the previous game's. We can still do dodge offset and shit like that.
Only difference I see is that it's less about spacing and more about reaction time.
Super Pokemon Mystery Dungeon's is pretty good.

>Bayonetta vs Bayonetta 2 thread
Bayonetta 2 had no climax and is inferior to the first for that reason alone. Only a retard would try to argue Bayonetta 1 beats 2 in any other way
>and shit like that.
that's exactly what i am talking about
you don't really care about autistic detail like that and it's fine
you enjoyed the game and so did i until certain moment
it's just that B1 had all these these autistic combat detail IN because Baldy worked on it directly but 2nd game fails when you dig REALLY deep into it, while 1st game didn't and in fact it only get better as you went on
in original game the main progression of player's skill (road to gud) was:
beating on normal
beating hard or going for platinum
going for pure platinums
beatin NSIC
and the ultimate challenge:
NSIC Pure Platinum
Rodin
Angel Slayer
and all the way B1 kept an extremely entertaining and fair learning curve
heck there are STILL things people find about B1:
youtu.be
this right here is the definition of depth
That progression Normal -- Platinum -- Hard -- Pure Platinum -- NSIC -- Pure Platinum NSIC is totally broken because B2 drops one difficulty mode -- there is only 1 mode above normal this time compared to 2 as it was in B1 and there geniunely made a LOT of difference -- the gap between Normal and Hard is gigantic, and NSIC presents a challenge that forces you to completely rethink entire combat system -- because you realize that all this fucking time Bayonetta wasn't about Witch Time at all and that Witch Time was just a crutch you are meant to outgrow by NSIC
B2 drops the ball past Normal difficulty (so called "Third Climax" mode) and exposes myriad of flaws in how enemies are designed in that there are multiple attack that simply have random or no audio cues
also visual themes and visual effects make parsing picture a challenge by itself instead of presenting a clear image of what exactly is going on
B2 still is a fine, fine game and i won't rob you of your pleasure with it by saying it's shit or something (because it is not)
it just doesn't reach the highs of B1
and who did? only W101 was able to top B2
twitter.com
The day where their PR guy pretended to be Cranky Kong was amazing.
...
That was funny yeah,
but again
I didnt mind Kevin being a casual fuck face who rated it low, that's his opinion and thats fine
It was Gamespot as a site choosing to ignore the game because of his review that got me upset
>beating on normal
>beating hard or going for platinum
>going for pure platinums
>beatin NSIC
>and the ultimate challenge:
>NSIC Pure Platinum
>Rodin
>Angel Slayer
I beated it in normal twice to improve my piss poor medals. It was one of those times where I found myself actually feeling a massive improvement since I was getting platinums and pure platinums with ease.
Kinda similar to how I felt with W101 when I found the first playthrough frustrating and boring, but when I started to git gud I found myself being hyped to the max.
So, when I kinda got good I came back to Bayo2 and found the problems you mention. Still a great entry in the genre tho, is just that as you said it lacks that detail when you try to master it.
I'm going to try VJ now, I want to see how well the blocked baldie does in 2D
FE Fates on the 3DS has some pretty good music too actually.
so you're gay?
welcome to Sup Forums i guess
Xenoblade X, Wonderful 101, Spratoon.
Damn fucking Straight
Especially from the Queen of Music Yoko
I love that she splits music between kingdom hearts and Mario and Luigi
I remember Yoko saying that the music direction she wanted with Paper Jam was to be more energetic like the Paper Mario series is
It fucking worked
Phase 2 is by far the most energetic final boss theme in the series and it's fucking awesome, the beginning part sounding like "In the final" is even better
>I'm going to try VJ now, I want to see how well the blocked baldie does in 2D
Feel free to ask me about it
preferrably in a new thread of something
i am not even remotely gud like the guy on webmrelated, but i think i can help and have things to say about VJ if asked
VJ Rainbow Viewtiful is FUCKED btw
it requires massive autistic memorization of all movements and actions
Bopopolis is a fucking 10/10 level.
I'm not gay, I'm just European
>Tfw the theme finally kicks in at full force
youtube.com
you posted the best BB one. But most people are masturbating over Clerical Beast, Amelia, Gascoigne because of "muh strings, muh orchestra" even though half of the soundtrack is samey and cliché. Even Ludwwig's theme is overrated because it has a good second part after its first meh one.
Soundtrack of the generation easily goes to this. No contest.
I will never not be pissed that big bop wasn't picked for smash
that and Etrian Odyssey 4
youtube.com
I hate the fact that there were, like, 6 different mixes of the main theme. I fucking love DK and Jungle Hijinx but there's so much shit to choose from in these games and they got lazy as shit. I'm glad at least Rocket Barrel Ride and Mangrove Cove made it in.
...
Daily reminder that Wise is on YL's soundtrack and it already sounds good.
