NA Dota is mostly a joke outside of one very successful team. The recently somewhat decent 'NA' teams have been success only after they brought in mostly EU players.

It's socially acceptable to be a loser in Europe honestly. Girls hate gamers in USA and expect you to be an adult and have some form of income. America doesn't have social welfare en masse so when you are raised to pay for everything in your life you are smart enough to realize that making a profit off professional gaming is statistically as unlikely as winning the lotto. It takes about 100 hours to learn almost any trade including electrician, locksmith, or plumbing. 180 or so units to get a college degree. It takes about 5000 hours to be just 5k rank in Dota(not even top) , 3000 to have all characters and runes in LoL let alone be top rank,or about 2000 to be tops in CSGO. Even then "pro gamers" don't have a salary to live off of and nearly all of them live with their parents or a a gaming house with 20 other people.
The real answer is that americans are lazy, the top players in each game don't really give a shit since they get sponsors and twitch money and are way to content with that.

Second, they suck because they don't have discipline or dedication compared to others. They think 10 hours per day training is A LOT. Compare that to the koreans who have basically their whole day dedicated towards a game. They want the glory without the suffering.
