>start game

>start a new game
>8 civs
>5 of them are on your continent including you
>rush great library
>chinadong steals it as i'm 1 turn off
>forfeit

>start game
>surrounded by jungle
>neighbor is Shaka, Atilla and Ashurbanipal
>Lost Great Library by a mile because no production from jungles
>forfeit

>be dutch
>spawn next to zulu
>apartheid.mp4
>Shake is northwest
>to the northeast is coast
>there are seven (7) elephants in this area
>they are all within settler range
>found tusky town
>rush construction
>drown Shaka in elephants
>arabia and byzantium are on an island to the south and hate each other
This is a civ 4 game, not 5, but it's extremely meme worthy fun so far and it's still very early on.

>in classical era
>want to found second city
>nowhere good on the entire continent
>meanwhile America has 3 cities and a huge army already

Luckily everyone's on the coast, meaning I'm just going wait until I get that battleship and warmonger it up.

>spending hammers on wonders when you can spend them on units to steal the wonder and their city

even in videogames having a black as your neighbor is the worst

>enemy civs have more units than usual for some reason
>only find like 3 ancient ruins
>all of them are maps

OOOOOOOH SHAKA

That's why I play Shoshone

>pick Archipelago map
>pick Polynesia

>not building up a bigger army so he gets your best buddy for the rest of the game

>when you dutch too much

fuck

Those are friendly troops my friend, no need to worry :^)

>not picking England
>not rushing the Great Lighthouse
>not going for exploration
>not enjoying your eleven (11) movement ships of the line

By the time you get your gay ass ship I'll already have a settlement in every island, taken every ruin in the map, and have so many Moai I can achieve a cultural victory in a couple of turns.

>Not being egypt and building every wonder

Try taking my cities when all my units have 45% bonus on defense, you can only move one hex, and my cities have insane defenses.

Ah, Capital Wonder City, how I love that strategy.

Too bad that if it gets captured, you lost the entire game.

Once I razed it down I discovered this wasn't even a mountain tile, it just looked like one.

the fuck

Possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

That's what I call high tide

Weird huh?

>rival beast me to wonder
>load a game from 20 turns before and change production so that I finish it before the date he did
>this time he's even earlier and beast me to it again

Fug :DD :D

Has anyone ever been as far even as decided to build a railroad on top of their mountain city?

Pay him off. It's not expensive for warmongers like him.

...

I got bored with my workers. At least my east coast was safe.

This reminds me of a game i played against the Zulus once

>pick Ottomans because why not
>start south west, settle Edirne south
>find Carthage and Spain east
>Spain has access to the 10 gold natural wonder
>20 gold at turn 30
>they snowball and destroy Carthage
>Access to more natural wonders
>meanwhile I meet the zulus north
>[Great Wall intensify]
>[Defender of the faith intensify]
>Zulus finally declare war
>they can't take Istanbul with my defence
>they got too many Impis so I can't counterattack
>Shaka refuses to make peace even though he will never defeat me
>we stay at war for eras, just pushing each others borders with Great Generals
>Impis start to be outdated, start to push enough to take Umgungundlovu
>Spain took all Indonesian cities meanwhile, now start to attack the Zulus from the east
>Zulus finally destroyed after centuries of conflict
>Spain becomes my best buddy, I help them to kick Indonesian and Venetian ass
>still get the Scientific victory with 45 population Istanbul

>open game
>it has another launcher
>refund

DUDE CULTURE LMAO

>start game
>scout nearby areas
>shaka and attila are your immediate neighbors
>preemptively invade them both

from vanilla civ5
>be persian
>send warrior exploring
>find 2 upgrade huts
>have rifleman in 1000 bc

>Shaka refuses to make peace even though he will never defeat me
I had a war like this where that Iroquois guy attacked me in the ancient era and would only make peace if I agreed to give him my city (I only had 3). He was the game's big superpower and I just barely fend him off until he gets rocket artillery and I have to give up.

I was sitting on 1 city in the amazons as egypt in vanilla.
Had a scout with Survivalism III that had turned into a crossbowman.
Had a few puppet cities.

Got the ranged promotions(who just added strength like any other promotion).

Started realizing that Rome was teching ahead way too much so I sent the crossbowman and gathered some ancient huts and eventually got it to turn into mechanized infantry.

Landed in Africa with it and conquered the entire world with that 1 unit.
Rome had infantry, but not mechanized infantry at the beginning of the war.

Had like +50% defense, +60% open(from ranged promotions), then another +60% open(from melee promotions).
That unit was crazy.

DUDE WORLD DOMINATION LMAO

>join online game of 12 players
>someone rushes pyramids before me
>drop out of game

...

Why's that I thought pyramids were pretty shitty
