I'm not talking about the good ones that popularized platformers, I'm talking about the ones that clogged the market in the wake of the success of others. You wanna go back to Scaler? You wanna go back to Shrek the Game? You wanna go back to Ninjabread Man?

Crash Bandicoot's platforming is now similar to that of Uncharted.
Nintendo's console is still underpowered making it have zero appeal to anyone.
You remember sonic wasn't that great to begin with and SEGA already has brought him back to his roots several times.
Megaman goes to Nintendo but Nintendo goes under like we all knew it would while capcom finds a way to thrive.
There's no downside to the death of MN9
3D platformers come back but people cash in on it too hardcore spewing out shovelware as far as the eye can see, carbon copying the people who made it good until you can't tell the games apart.

Same thing happens with all popular genres, pretty much happened to FPS games after they took over platformers reign. I would rather deal with getting a shitload of shitty games since there will definitely be a few surprise good ones in that huge pile of shit. Plus some like Ninjabread Man will be hilarious.
