We've been doing what Mario Maker has done for more than 10 years now.
So I do not understand why people hold this game in such high regard.

You don't unlock it if you download a level with it on: you can only use it when editing that level. But hey, Nintendo isn't the first company to lock a game-breaking powerup behind a paywall.
