It's a better game in every regard, the undisputed masterpiece JRPG on the PSX.

This. CT was so bland and uninteresting that I actually got mad that anyone would dare call it a masterpiece. Cross was at least incredibly interesting with a deeper combat mechanic.

Also, Kid was fucking hot as shit.

I like it a lot. I haven't played much of Chrono Trigger yet but so far I think Chrono Cross is better.

I have played the fuck out of both and I can surely say that Cross is better. The have a really forced connection though and they are good in their own system.

Why is she so perfect?

Somehow manages to have even less characters development than Trigger while also throwing an absurd amount of characters at you that you even care less about. At least Trigger has arcs and main story involvement for each one.

The combat, while they tried to do something new is still slightly worse and neuters the brisk pace of the first in favor of swapping to a typical RPG transitioned battle screen.

The story is actually kind of interesting but there's a few parts I didn't like and it seemed like it could've been handled better in relation to Trigger.

But yeah it's good, just don't compare it to Trigger in most ways.

It's better and worse in different ways. The story is a clusterfuck that usually takes several replays to fully understand but lends a greater appreciation once you actually do understand how it fits into the CT timeline. There's a shitload of characters to play as which is great as finding each one can be fun but at the same time they didn't give nearly enough development to many of them, at least not in the same sense they did for each of CT's characters.

The music is God tier though.

It's a different experience than Trigger. It might be hard, but you have to think about it like a different game entirely. Even if it has a tone of call backs to Trigger, it's still not the same experience. Just pretend you don't know anything about Trigger.

although chrono trigger is one of the better snes games chrono cross is better IMO. chrono cross has an amazing soundtrack. the combat system...while funky at first is pretty unique and interesting.

however, like trigger...there are a few snags in the story where you wonder what the hell is going on and how would you know it after you look it up. also like in trigger some of the sidequests are too obscure I'm not sure how the fuck people discovered it without a guide.

I recently beat chrono trigger again. it's a great game. not the best snes game for me...but it brings a lot to the table. chrono cross isn't in my top 3 fave ps1 rpgs...but it's a great game most fans would enjoy.

After Crono and friends beat Lavos and everyone returns to their respective time, the future (2,300 A.D.) isn't a desolate wasteland anymore and is thriving much like it was in 1,999 A.D. This meant Belthasar was able to create Chronopolis and eventually pave the way for the space-time experiment that resulted in the time crash hurling Chronopolis back to 9,000 B.C. thus a change in the timeline Crono and friends previously established.

Nah, due to the events of Trigger it ended up being artificially created in the newly saved future and sent back to the past. You're welcome to call it bad writing, but at least it's not a plot hole.

Balthasar spent the entirety of the game's events trying to FIX what Zeal fucked up. Hence all the multiple dimensions, time traveling, and Project Kid bullshit. Still, the root of all the troubles in the game's plot come from the Zeal trying to use Lavos' to their own benefit without thinking of the consequences.

what pisses me off is I had the bonus music disc with chrono cross for preordering or buying it day with 1 with preorder leftovers and I can't find my copy. I still have my copy for legend of mana's ost though. the discs weren't the full soundtrack...just a few tracks but had awesome cases. think about that for a bit.

Harle was the seventh Dragon God. The six Dragon Gods created her when an electrical thunderstorm created by Schala interrupted Chronopolis's defenses and FATE momentarily lost control over them.

I've beaten CC more than once. I didn't get through half of CT, not that it was a bad game or anything. I just didn't find it as fun to play.
