Isn't D12 only win 10 though?
>AMDead needs two GPUs to beat nvidia
they are less 500$ and only use half of their power
I'm all up for this 480 but where them benchmarks for something except ashes of singularity and also nobody cares to SLI in this day and age if he doesnt need to.
in about 3 years most games will require dx12 just as MGSV requires dx11.
ashes of singularity is probably the only thing which runsfaster with that AMD combo
>Crossfire
Have fun trying to actually play with that
>sli
>ever
If there's any justice in the world, D3D will be dead and buried in favour of Vulkan by that point
>the 480 is worth anything
Why is this meme persisting? I didn't know there were so many poor people here.
Maybe because it's the best choice from the new cards for 1080p
Gaming at 1080p on PC is a fucking embarrassment in 2016. Just get a console and a big TV if that's what you're going to do.
just got 1440p monitor with 120Hz
no way I'm going back to that 1080p shit
Is it fair, bros?
How the FUCK do we stop Nvidia?
And then you remember how bad the driver support will be for AMD and how inconsistant the support for SLI/crossfire setups are
>SLI
and how much was that? 600 dollars?
the difference between 1080p and 1440p is negligible at least in 27" monitors or smaller. It demands so much more GPU power for minimal quality gain.
There is no justice in the world.
Dual-Card setups are more trouble than they're worth.
That goes for both Crossfire AND SLI.
Just wait for the first few games to come out and all that genuinely better performance to be fucked by shitty drivers and patent-locking jew business tactics.
>ashes of singularity
Every time. Literally hear about this game more in benchmarks than from any players. I'm not even sure it is a real game
75% more pixels isn't negligible, unless you play 10 feet from the screen or something
>thinking the 2x means dual card
retard
God fucking damn, I don't want to downgrade to win10.
AMD helped create a meme game literally nobody plays so they could use it to show how great their GPU's are whenever they need to. Unfortunately it's the only game in which this occurs.
>implying things
>implying Windows has a future
What else does it mean?
>Windows 10 is bad meme
Dude, Crossfire is fucking great.
youtube.com
10 is better than 8.
>muh spying
Already happening on 8.
Why do you think they give it away for free, retard?
So why does this "Ashes of Singularity" game need a good graphics card? It looks like utter shit.
I have 27 inch
>8
DELETE THIS
Theyre called console users. People like you.
Works just as well as 7/8/8.1 Why does Apple give away OS X for free? Why do people give Linux away for free? The cost of software doesn't necessarily have any bearing on its quality.
It's hard to tell since the screenshots are so blurry, but the graffix looks pretty damn good.
The main difference between AMD and NVIDIA.
Wheres that graph, it hows nvidia puts out a consistent level of performance where AMD only peaks now and then.
This is coming from someone who used to use amd...........
"Works just as well"... Only it spies on you and looks like some turbo-casualized mobile garbage.
Good thing that's not SLI
Anyone have any idea on how much the 480 is gonna cause the 300 generation to price drop?
I still don't get the anti-Radeon meme
To this date I've never had problems, card runs silky smooth and drivers are fine
Just did yesterday bexause of DX12.
Make sure to do custom install and deselect everything there because it is all literally options to take your info for ads.
Thank fuck that I use linux for everything besides vidya.
I understand you exclusively used laptops, but some people are using 7 you know.
Fuck it, I'd go back to XP if it were possible.
Nividiots. Nvidia is the iphone of gpus. Casual retards think showing off thier iphone lets others know theyre rich! Its just a dupe for poor people. Rich people(read not moderately succesful) dont need gpus or iphones.
Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 "spy" on you, I'm sure you have an android/iOS phone, those "spy" on you, I'm sure you have an intel or AMD processor, those have government backdoors that can "spy" on you, your ISP can "spy" on you through your internet connection, if you're so worried about being "spied" on why aren't you running Arch Linux on some Thinkpad from 2002 and only using wifi hotspots around your town? You can also just block 99% of what Windows 10 sends to Microsoft, this whole frenzy over Window 10 is just retarded.
>ads
What ads?
If you weren't a lazy shit and actually did a manual setup for Win10 you'd know it creates an "advertisement ID" that it automatically sends to advertisers that tracks your preferences, among other privacy horrors.
Go look at your privacy settings, you can still change it.
>crossfire / sli being relevant in 2016
>the benchmark was in a game that is optimized to hell forward AMD
Now show me benchmarks of the 480x from games likes Witcher 3 (without shitworks) Battlefield and such which are optimized both ways.
Nvidia is fucking terrible and they're constantly shitting out drivers that cause more trouble than good
It even says ads.
It's why it's free. The targeted ads through MS will be better than Google could ever do with Chrome, fiber, youtube etc.
>1 card vs 2 cards
hahaha pathetic, SLI will always have more problems than a singular card.
nVidia registers software patents which allow games to look moderately better, but causes said games to run like shit on AMD cards. AMD then develops their own equivalents to these technologies and release it as open-source. But worse still, nVidia contractually obligate developers not to implement support for the AMD techs if they want to include support for nVidia techs. Effectively forced to choose between good geforce support and good radeon support, developers usually go for the cards with the bigger market share (i.e. nVidia), completely screwing AMD's cards' performance in the process.
Over the years this led to the false conception that AMD cards are "shit", to the point where most people genuinely believe nVidia cards are genuinely better.
Guess i forgot while i was turning everything off
Yet they require you to crossfire AMD GPUS
Which you can just turn off, and block the info sent to Microsoft. It's annoying but it's not a big hassle.
>You can also just block 99% of what Windows 10 sends to Microsoft
And you believe those options actually do anything?
>le everything spies on you xD
Fuck off Jew. It's never been quite so blatant and unblockable as Win10 for PCs.
My main gripe is that you cant use cortana without data collection on.
hey friend I'm not the shitposter you are responding to but for the love of memes, don't give that 12 year old more (you)s.
Honestly speaking, I'm waiting a few months to see what premium option AMD is offering. A 490/X or something. See how it stacks up to a 1070/1080 in a few games.
I could buy a 1070 in a month or so, but I figure if I have to hold out for a 1070 with a decent cooling system, I may as well wait and see what the benchmarks are going to be for the initial range.
For now, my 270x 4gb is doing an excellent job still.
So basicslly nvidiots pay through the nose..so nvidia can hire a team to fuck over a competitor instead of making a great card.
Wow. The power of nvidiots.
>Actually using cortana
My biggest problem with win10 is that it looks like a product for the tablet generation. As far as I know, it doesn't even have a built-in Classic theme to make it look less of a toy.
His argument about Android was funny.
It was created for data collection for ad targeting. Everything Google does is data collection. Why else would Google fiber exist? Chrome? Android? Gmail? G+?
Cortana is literally shit but it annoys the hell out of me that there is no default search function when Cortana is shut off.
>And you believe those options actually do anything?
You imply I'm talking about the options built in to the OS. There are hundreds of tools on the internet that block the connections to Microsoft
>Fuck off Jew. It's never been quite so blatant and unblockable as Win10 for PCs.
So you admit I'm right? Why do you make such a fuzz over one thing spying on you while nearly every single other tech device you own does the same thing?
Last one, user, I promise.
>So you admit I'm right? Why do you make such a fuzz over one thing spying on you while nearly every single other tech device you own does the same thing?
Because I don't store legally questionable images on my fucking phone.
>Prompt comes up
>TAP HERE TO DO A THING
I wonder where you got that impression
Have you actually seen Windows 10? It doesn't have any of the tablet shit from Windows 8/8.1 unless you want it there.
Yes, I have seen it, which is why I say it looks like some iphone shit.
You can shrink the taskbar, remove all the apps on the startmenu, remove search and the app view, and you get this
The settings menu and etc still look like ass though
pls disregard facebook games it's a shared account
I already have a GTX 970 and it seems like the 480 will have all-round similar performance to that. So this card doesn't interest me at all. Even though the 1080 looks like an actual upgrade, I'm satisfied with my current setup for pretty much all games. We will need more games with DOOM4-level graphics before I consider buying anything.
have you noticed t he rise in uninformed shitposters?
oh yeah it's summer. who the fuck cares about computers and doesn't know the difference between sli and crossfire.
Still looks like ass.
>DX12
let me know when the average game starts using this shit then I'll consider hoping off of 7
>shared account
The new cards don't even call it Crossfire, they just call it "Multicard" or something, and apparently DX12 and Vulkan have lessened the stuttering to a minimum
A family of tech retards who get confused by a login screen and you get that, it's not even linked to an MS account so no app store
I see a lot of people throwing the word meme around and its confusing. As someone looking to build his first PC soon I'm just trying to figure out what I should be spending my money on. Is amd really so bad?
People overexaggerate and shitpost a lot.
Basically just get an intel Core processor and a graphics card and you have a gaymen PC
There's 2 gpus on one card.
>2x AMD cards to beat one nvidia card
>marginal FPS advantage
>pay 700 for 58fps
>or roughly 1000+ for 63fps
AMD are dumb.
The only thing there's anything wrong with is fanboyism.
Look at cards in your price range, look at benchmarks for those cards, look at reviews to see which manufacturers you should avoid, and make a decision based on that.
amd is not bad they just aren't releasing any high end cards till later in the year.. if you have a low budget the RX480 is definitely the must buy card, if you have a >$800 budget then you can consider a 1070 or 1080.
They are not terrible, but remember that while AMD GPUs sometimes offer better performance per dollar, they are also less power-efficient and create more heat. So you will need to buy a better PSU than you would if you went with a power-efficient Nvidia card, especially a 900 or 1000 series. You will also be likely to deal with more noise and possibly need better cooling, depending on what sort of case layout and cooling you are using.
I prefer nvidia simply because the better power efficiency means the fans are much quieter.

Nvidia used to be great, but then their industry superiority got to their head and now they're fucking up left and right, releasing updates that brick GPUs and shit.
In short:
nvidia is good for you as an individual consumer because at the end of the day their products work better than AMD's.
AMD is good if you don't want to support a Jew company that screws over all competition via legality minutia, patent trolling and monopoly-like abuse of marketshare.
AMD cards would still work fine (unless you use linux for gaymin). Their mid-range stuff usually offers a better performance/price ratio, but their latest top-of-the-line tends to be less powerful than whatever nvidia releases.
The RX 480 is $200 m8.
So it's more like paying $700 for 58 FPS or $400-$460 for 63 FPS.
>people still bought the 3.5 after it was exposed
>they still defend it as a great 1080p card
>they will still buy these old gddr cards when everyone else rolls out next gen memory.
Are you actually retarded?
>no y axis
fuck off
I've always bought Radeon cards since they were usually more economic
But I never knew they were designed by a POO IN THE LOO CURRY NIGGER
I will support Nvidia from now on, I'm long overdue to build a new rig anyway. Current one is from 2013
I have a 970 and it is perfectly fine
I went from 1080p to 1440p, 27" monitor.
The difference is not negligible. Especially when comparing fine texture/details.
