I love Zinogre, but he's pretty easy compared to a lot of the shit the game throws at you.

He's one of my favorite monsters to fight. Completely fair fight with no bullshit mechanics, just like Naruga.

Use your time with MH4U to git gud, the community should still be active even now (hell, 3U and even MHFU are still active, IIRC). That way you'll be better prepared for the inevitable asshole behaviour in X when it comes out.

Yeah, that specifically. There's a whole range of asshole behaviour you'll want to be accustomed to and have counter-measures for, like tripping, bailing, killing on a capture quest (yes, that does happen, bizarrely) and a bunch of other things. Best get used to it now, because it will be so much worse in X when it's released.

How would I counter that behaviour, if you dont mind spoon feeding.

Some of it can't be countered, unfortunately. Tripping prevention however involves a whole range of standard etiquette that I can't really list off the top of my head, but in the simplest terms:
>Don't swing wide (especially if you've got a long Blademaster weapon) when attacking the monster in tandem with others
>Go for different parts when attacking in tandem with others to reduce chances of tripping (there are recommended parts depending on the weapon, but I can't remember what they are off the top of my head)
>When in doubt, don't use LS, IG, or the the CB ultras
Seems a a bit proscriptive, but continuous tripping can completely ruin a hunt.

Seriously though, why are there so many different types of Rathalos and Rathian in MH4U? They could have easily added some of the monsters from 3U or P2G. Rathalos/Ian armor and weapons aren't even that good.

I don't think it does for the SA, but I think Impat phials with the CB might because of the shockwaves. Something to watch out for, I suppose.
