How do I get kingdom chivalry? I need it to advance past a locked door, it says I can force it open but I always fail.
What gives?
Just started this game a few hours ago. It's pretty damn comfy, plus the animal girls with fat tits are real nice to look at when things are slow. Navigating this shit with a keyboard is silly when it's like "Press 6" or Press 2".
advance the story
You can go and rebind keys so that 1 uses the 1 button and so on. You can play entirely on a keyboard.
READ THE MANUAL BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS
Portrait sets:
pastebin.com
I know how to rebind the keys. What I mean is it still says "2" or "6" instead of the key I have bound, so trying to navigate the menus is still a cluster fuck because every tooltip tells me something I don't use. Ya dig?
So I seem to be unable to import custom portraits, even when I try to reupload the original portraits in those slots. Any ideas?
I am adjusting the image type accordingly, I run the game on administrator and made sure I have permission to read / write all files in the game folder. I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or not. You just drop the image folders into the USERDATA folder right?
How do I build a ranger/bow user/not magic back-line attacker
Put them in PICTUREGATE and then they will be imported into USERDATA after you go through that process in the options.
>You just drop the image folders into the USERDATA folder right?
How did you get all of the other info while still making this basic fuckup?
I'm sure he would have figured it out if he worked on it for like 5 more minutes. He asked hoping there was a quick and easy answer, which there was. No need to get worked up.
I swear I have more fun dicking around with portraits than I do playing.
My rarely used B team.
i mean i just went to the install folder and saw the default 01-16 in that folder so i assumed that was where they were supposed to go
thanks guys
>not making your B Team literal bees
thanks in the last thread on how2resize
think i figured out how to do it but havent checked in game because I cant figure out a good way to do imgD. If anyone can figure that out that would be nice. this is the first one im doing
didnt want the whole thing in the image for everything

Also someone can add the Eiyuu Senki set
God can't help me now
Dang you been hitting the dungeon hard I see
Is there a reliable way to find Mumic? I got a bunch of old shitty uniques that I'd really like to throw back into the rng pool.
It gets really easy to grind once you get butterfly only ambush spots
Just spam carnage to win instantly
Stranger of Sword City or Elminage Gothic?
I want to play a decent game with custom portraits that are a decent size.
Elminage is apparently shit but costs a chunk less than SoSC
Elminage Gothic doesn't even have custom portraits normally
Everyone says to just emulate Original on PSP anyway
Elminage gothic is bad.
Elminage original is much better, just emulate it.
Elminage Gothic is just a huge fuck you to play and mod
Does picking the nice or asshole dialogue choices affect anything story wise?
>custom portraits that are a decent size
I'll keep the Original>Gothic in mind for later, but I was hoping for something that would show a lot of your character(s). It's dumb but it makes a pretty big difference to me
Just want to say thank you to whoever did the GBF portraits. Don't play the game, but love the art.
If I could request a couple that would fit my party, I'd like to have these

Got a samurai catgirl and a dude mage, and none of the released packs have been able to fill those roles.
I would do them after i back from work.
Thread will probably be dead by then, but I'll be lurking. Thanks bro
It's finally a chance for le duration meme man to be good.
So this stranger is sword city is basically like etrian odyssey but on pc?
Where is Mero?
But EO is on PC.
Kind of
No map drawing, less pedo artstyle, definitively worse music. Building characters here feels more fun than in EO though
>less pedo artstyle
You clearly don't know me user
Everyone should read this if they keep getting lost
tehvidya.com
The butterfly nests are the key to exp grinding
>pedo
You reek of new.
So is it worth $30 or should I wait like a year for it when it probably becomes $19.99?
Here you go user
mega.nz
Also here is a a short guide on how to do these quickly with gimp, for posterity.
pastebin.com
An updated version with new content releases pretty soon so i'd wait until then to see if they will release that on PC, they probably won't though.
It is worth $40 I think, $30 is with the discount. Depends on how much you feel like you need to play a dungeon crawler at the moment.
Oh man, thanks.
Post teams.
ImgD is literally just a crop of the eye area. Look at the premade ones.
any nigga playing on vita? what was the strategy for the final dungeon?
Oh well, rejoice I guess. There's an option for people like you as well
Been around since 2007. You have to be pretty deluded if you think Himukai's art isn't pedo as fuck though. Don't get me wrong, some of his designs are cute, but the man is an admitted lolicon artist.
>having portraits that clash with the game's artstyle
YAMEROOOOOOOOOOO
>m-muh art clashing
Is it just me or are Wizards straight garbage. Such limited MP pools that you have to be picky with your magic, even when you do use it effectively (against weak elements) it still does shit for damage. Feels like all they're good for is casting Magic Weapon and Slow.
Just bought it, does it require a ton of grinding?
What's the difficulty compared to say, Etrian Odyssey IV?
Is this game beatable/enjoyable even if I don't tryhard and minimalize stats and skills?
made dick kickem
Go home Rean
How hard will this game fuck my ass?
I've never played a dungeon RPG before and I've already heard the phrase "instadeath enemy" get thrown around and it's really keeping me from trying this.
A shit ton
>What's the difficulty compared to say, Etrian Odyssey IV?
Yes, though try playing in beginner mode
It does require a significant amount of grinding, there's no real shortcuts like easily repeatable bosses of EO3/4.
The game isn't really all that difficult, it just forces you to compensate for it's gimmicks a lot, which makes it kind of boring.
After a point, tons of bosses will start spamming Instant Death moves over and over, and to account for that you have to use a specific gimmick ability to block against it every couple of turns. There are like 20+ other gimmick abilities, but since all the bosses love spamming the OHKO BS, your only real choice is to protect against it instead.
The class change system is ok, but there is very little variety in classes to begin with once you're about 4 classes deep, because you'll have all the "core" abilities of each good class on your damage chars and mage chars respectively.
tl:dr, play EO instead
Buffs and debuffs mainly, attack magic is decent if you abuse elemental weaknesses and gets better after you get double and triple cast.
But generally yeah, they are worse than clerics but also mandatory because of magic weapon, the force buffs are also nice.
If you want to use class changing optimally then there's grinding, how much depends on how much min/max autism you have.
Also main source of good equipment is grinding ambush spots.
EO IV is baby mode as far as dungeon crawlers go so this is obviously harder.
Very hard, even in beginner mode you can get insta-gibbed. Is not the hardest Dungeon CRAWLER around, but is not very beginner friendly either (No game in the genre is to be honest, people keep coming thinking this is fucking final fantasy and get mad when they learn they have to pace themselves in the dungeons and not just go at them in one gofuckingkidsthesedaysiswear)
It took how many years for it to be localized? Even if I owned a Vita I wouldn't hold my breath.
why is it recommended to change classes at lvl 13?
You unlock a skill slot for every class you level to 13.
>No one here playing with a team full of BETA.
Lv 13 minimum for the skill slot. Some classes have useful skills much later though
>instant death
thanks for letting me know
into the trash it goes
may as well be the devs shouting WE WERE TOO LAZY FOR REAL MECHANICS
found the casual!
Is this game any good?
The permadeath is a bit of a turn off. I don't want to idle around waiting for my healer to gain more life points or whatever so I don't lose them forever
I also don't want to level up a brand new character when someone dies forever, or to make replacements for when someone is injured.
So is this game just a giant pain or is there something to alleviate this?
...
Careful planning and knowing when to head back to town will save you from pretty well ever losing a party member. The game gives you a 100% effective escape ability very near to the beginning that is the only use of your Morale gauge at the start. You also have items with the same effect that aren't terribly difficult to get hold of.
Paying close attention to enemy levels and avoiding situations where you will be Ambushed likewise greatly increase your odds of never getting in over your head. When exploring a new area with fresh Lineage Types to worry about, always be aware of the conditions for encountering each and simply escape from them if you need to. I would always save right before attempting to fight a Lineage type on purpose and then head into a dungeon expressly for the purpose of finding and fighting them so I wouldn't lose any progress if things went deep south.
I put in fifty hours on the Vita and never lost anybody, running a crew entirely of 1 LP units with about 18-20 bonus points on creation. That helps early in the game, but isn't a dealbreaker since good use of equipment is especially important.
>that tiny Yuel
You can have up to 16 characters at one time, the ones you aren't using stay at Base and can passively gain exp (thus level) and also bring in passive income. Every time you 'register' a new character it's level is something like half your MC, so you aren't always creating a level 1. There are also items you can buy (though limited) that restore life points/revive so you don't have to wait around if you don't want to.
not to be rude but I believe you need to resize some characters, user
Newly made characters get leveled up to half the MC's total level. It is advised you make all your replacements at the beginning so they get passive exp. Even when benched, they'll soon catch up to your active party's level.
To be honest you sounds kind of casual for this game, no offense. Don't think you'll enjoy it if such a mechanic bothers your so much
Can you escape from Lineage types? The only time I tried was against the Archer guy at vot ruined, and It kept saying he disrupted it. Might be because that one is a static Red Angry Face that you walk into but it's not like you can gauge what the fuck it's going to be without going in.
She's pocket-sized, no bully.
Thanks for that. It's not quite as bad as it sounds, it seems.
It does sound like you want to make everyone at the start. I hope you don't unlock any other classes or something, that could be annoying.
Yeah, maybe. Or rather, it's more like I just don't have the time to grind for ages to get anywhere anymore. I've almost finished law school and need to prepare to pass the Bar and find a job. It's depressing but I'm kinda too busy for JRPGs now. I've been playing casual games more since they usually give you everything quickly and don't take so long to get through or make progress.
I just got (almost) against Charon, but i want to farm a bit before that
M.o. Storms has like 3 different chests only
M.o. Sea might be affordable, but holy fuck the No Spells gimmick is so not fun. Also slight lineage danger
M.o. Ice is maximum cockblock, not only No Skills allowed, but the Chimera lineage that spawns at the fourth turn of EVERY ambush and likes to roflstomp me ("oh no taunt? it'd be a shame to ATTACK 7 TIMES THE FIGHTER")
Ghost town is old.
Over-the-shoulder portraits are god-tier.
Wouldn't it be better to get all the skills on a class before switching then to maximize versatility?
Right, if you walk into a Scripted Encounter, you cannot escape. The Red Skulls on the map are Scripted Boss Fights, essentially. If you don't think you're ready for those, do not walk into them. They're one of the exceptions to being able to retreat.
If you encounter a Lineage type any other way, aside from during a cutscene which has the same rule apply, they can be escaped from, such as Lineage types who appear in an enemy party while you're ambushing. You can simply choose not to fight them in the first place and Retreat from the Ambush screen itself before even engaging.
>no skills allowed dungeon
oh god that sounds horrifying
It's one of the primary reasons I'm strongly tempted to do a Rance run, because it fits so well. Bless the user who first put the Rance 03 portraits together and made me realize it.
Only regret is that Patton wasn't playable in 03, so no Punch Tank.
nice butts user
My autism would make it very hard to multi-class the characters properly.
Also called "X Charge or die trying"
Rance quest pack when
I never really had trouble in Sea or Ice. Divinities can really help out in those dungeons, especially Black Wall to reduce damage to the party due to the lack of Iron Defense in Ice.
To help deal with the Chimera, use Dragon Fist if you have it. The Hit/Avoid penalty it inflicts is persistent for the battle, and stacks. If you obliterate the Chimera's accuracy, you'll have nothing left to fear. Spamming Confine if you have a Ranger along with Dragon Fist will tank the bastards Hit rating in no time and it will turn into a one-sided battle for you.
Theorically, yes. Practically, not so much. Depends on what you're building. If you're dipping into ninja for the dodge skills, there is no point going beyond 15. Likewise, say you're going into fighter for just Invincible Heart, why would you grind beyond 13?
I'm not even taking into account that you're limited to the amount of skills you can have because of skill slots, so getting every skill is moot
Nah it's actually the easiest dungeon to grind imo. Just activate healing and you're good.
No really. It would be extremely slow to level up that way and you'll lose on bonus HP/MP you get from leveling up again not to mention some cross skills can be extremely useful.
That's why on lower levels you'd want to switch at 13 to get some skill slots for more options early on. Catching up from level 6 to 13 again doesn't take that long. I did it twice already.
>confine
>in the ice dungeon
Haha nice one user.
Should resize them a little so they don't completely cover small enemies like that. Bet they also cover the damage display.
is there any fucking point going pass 25 agi in this game for any reasons? Seems it doesn't effect hit and avoid at all...
>tfw playing SMT:SJ
>about 1/10th through the game, no chance to build a real team/resistances
>random enemy encounter where all the enemies do is spam instant death before i move
its "hardcore" ;^)
Why Rance quest?
If possible can you make Julia and Bernard and Sioux?
Also what classes are good for each character?
Sadly Quest just uses face images in battle. 2 however does have an over the shoulder portrait
Is it better to have a strong 1 hit weapon or a weapon that hits 3/4 times for the same total damage?
how hard is it?
how grindy is it?
how much customization does it have? like no party will be equal to another? or it's pretty much just cookie cutter stuff all the time?
