If it's a musou, I think it's okay as long as
-Guts has a fleshed out moveset aside swinging his sword to utilize his crossbow/bombs/canon/etc.
-AI isn't completely retarded and is very aggressive/dangerous + good boss fights
-Level design is more than just open sandboxes

Of course, that's just expecting too much though + the PC port will probably be ass considering KT can't make a PC port worthwhile to save their lives.

I may just be overly optimistic, but I think it's going to be similar to the PS2 game. Berserk doesn't really fit in the normal Musou formula, there's no bases or anything to capture. I think they'll make it just different enough that it can be a good game on it's own.

Japan has specific rules about dismembering humans in video games. I've played and there is a imaginary fight sequence with the old Hawk gang but you can't dismember them when you cut them, only send them flying a few yards away with a shitload of blood spraying everywhere

They're specifically making this one violent. They wouldn't skimp on a Berserk game especially since it's set during the Black Swordsman arc and demons/nonhumans are open season for all sorts of dismemberment and destruction.

I was hoping for a weighty devil may cry-esque game without the churazy dante shit. I find musous to be unplayable.

Same. They just feel like there's no depth? I've never, ever been able to get into the franchise/genre.

I want the enemies to feel like they're going to fight back; I want it to feel like a dance to the death but stylish/fun as fuck.

The admittedly few Musou games I've played all feel like I'm a fucking unstoppable god, and it just puts me to sleep

The coolest thing about the PS2 game was that you could aim your attacks too and there were so many fucking animations for a game that relied almost exclusively on pressing square to do combat.

It's a god tier hack and slash, it's so satisfying. If the musou has shitty combos I'll be really upset. I'll still buy it but I probably wouldn't be able to finish it.

Resident Evil 5 had extremely brutal dismemberment of humans. They were removed in the west, and replaced lazily with characters just falling over.

Now the dismembering in this webm has no bearing on gameplay, just like MGR. And probably not dynamic dismemberment either but pre-set cuts on the arms and torso.

There is weight, that's maxed level using berserk mode which makes you move like 5 times faster than without them.

If you think that lacks weight, wait till you see the musou.

he was in berserk mode that only lasts liek 10 seconds, you dont usually get to swing that fast. Even then you need good directional control while swinging that fast otherwise youll swing wildly and waste it.

There's a weight because of the impact you see it cause. It'd be pretty hard to accurately portray that heavy as fuck sword swinging as fast as guts swings it and make it not look fucking stupid with how old the game is honestly
