Yes blacks fought in WW1, though mostly in the African front. They served as soldiers for their mother country, so to speak. So in Africa you had blacks fighting along side whites on both the German and English side. There were almost certainly African divisions fighting in Europe at one point during the war, as resources and men were strained.

At this point, Germany could no longer mount another major counterattack and the war was essentially lost. In addition, they entered earlier in 1941 and the were main force behind the breaking of the Western Front (D-Day) American mounted no major offensive in World War 1 by itself.
