ok now im hyped as fuck
Ok now im hyped as fuck
that's literally fucking nothing user
For sand?
You could do this in ME1? When you scan for planets.
Exploring in the MAKO was awesome and comfy as fuck, fuck the haters.
I agree, but we all know that ME4 will suck.
Fuck, saw this in the catalog and thought it was Jak 4.
I'm disappointed.
Something about this picture makes the MAKO look like an RC car.
It will but so did ME1 in a lot of ways, but I still enjoyed it because SF games like this were really rare and still are desu.
Will take what I can get.
ME1 was a nice RPG with flaws. ME4 will be no RPG with a lot of stupid design choices and huge flaws.
if they try to have the freedom of 1 then it may actually be good
I HATE SAND
>tfw it's gonna be DA:I in space
When will Bioware start making good games again?
We both know it'll be Inquisition all over again. You get to a big empty boring location and you go through a checklist of things to click on. Except now you have a mount
Yeah. For the first two planets before you realized it's all just random hills with three or four different texture maps leading to some random junk or a copy paste sidequest.
You had a mount in DA:I.
It's just that it was so useless it might as well not have been there.
This.
Outsie of Xenoblade Chronicles X this is the only other "rpg" in space
It looked good. I'm actually excited for it. There are a few things that I hope they bring back from ME1 (that probably won't happen but oh well) like the weapon heat system and being able to equip all weapons.
That biotic slam attack looked neat too.
>What is Star Ocean
I don't know, what is Star Ocean?
>Hey guys, whats the best vehicle for planetary exploration?
>An wheeled buggy that is slow as fuck and cannot fly!
>Great idea!
Seriously, a dropship/shuttle/atv would have been way better. I love traversing long distances on uncharted planets, but give me some real mobility for fucks sake.
I modded the mako in ME1 to have infinite jump boost and suddenly the mako was the best feature in the game.
a dropship/shuttle/atv hybrid vehicle*
The point of the mako is it can travel anywhere on the surface and also go underground WHILST being an actual tank. It doesn't have the vulnerabilities of a shuttle and can carry more armour/firepower.
>all these kids not understanding why the screenshot is important and what it means for Mass Effect
Just deal with it, you were born too late for video games.
Back to Fallout 4.
It was bugged as hell.
You could jump around like a grasshopper
The tech is there, its like not a flying armored tank is impossible or anything. : /
It's more fun to drive a buggy and it's really not that slow either, ME2 had the shuttle/hovercraft and it was worse.
The hammerhead exists, but cannot stop in small crevices or caves like the mako can. It's perfectly designs to be a surface exploration vehicle. You can hop in and out and continue on much faster than you can in a shuttle/HH.
>implying a compact armored Kodiak/Mako hybrid tank design is impossible to exist.
Why not have both?
Is that balding paki dev from bioware still making racist remarks about white people on his twitter?
>You could do this in ME1?
Yeah
>After playtesting the mako sections were found to be tedious and boring
You know it's going to happen.
Here's how this works:
1. New game of your favorite franchise is released by EA.
2. Its another bland soulless husk of what it once was and could be.
3. EA gets paid.
Ok.
10% of being good.
90% of being shit.
Used to be 100% of the latter.
If they have vehicles in Multiplayer I will get so fucking hype
>not putting a giant robot instead of another vehicle
Wheeled vehicles are pretty reliable, flying craft can be destroyed or kill their occupants if they come down hard, tracks are difficult to repair and maintain. The Mako/whatever it's called is supposed to be low tech and almost impossible to break or disable. Good if you are dropping onto a planet with unknown conditions.
We don't really know how reliable element plot-device antigrav engines are.
>implying
when did I imply that? I'm simply saying the mako has a specific design and it works great for what it was designed for, now it seems it has been improved with more speed and armour.
Can't wait to see if it has new guns too.
Another problem with a flying vehicle is it's more susceptible to adverse weather conditions. One of the reasons why you had to use the mako in ME1 on Noveria was because it was too dangerous to take a shuttle.
Eh, I just feel annoyed how limited I feel while driving a slow, non flying vehicle to traverse long uneven terrain with the viewing perspective glued to the ground, unable to get up high to see a bigger picture. I'm also annoyed that the combat is rather bland "drive in and out of cover" or "drive in a circle" with no verticality or sense of speed or power. It feels weak.
I want the driving section make me feel powerful, capable and free. A flying high-tech armored tank that combines the mako tank and the kodiak shuttle with a varied array of anti-ground and anti-air weapons would be the coolest way to do this I think.

>Bioware will never re-create ME1's atmosphere with a striking tonal OST ever again
Am I here just to suffer, lads?
They were in ME1 though. What I think will probably happen is that they'll give more detail to the worlds and make them kess boring but most of the game will revolve on the use of the Mako. Afterall you are looking for a new planet to call home, so I guess your job is to conduct survey of planets to find a viable one.
Will it involve mass relays, or will the new galaxy not have those?
Yes.
The ride never ends.
you could do this in star control you mean, the game that mass effect was based on
>ME1 with Jack Wall and Sam Hulick
Great 80s sci-fi sound with a good mix of atmospheric and impacting tracks
>ME2 with Jack Wall
Shift towards more typical action-y sounding stuff
>ME3 with Sam Hulick
Generic, more modernized sci-fi music
>ME4 with ???
Do you think they'll get it right again?
I can't wait to drive in space Hinterlands collecting space elfroot while space quests automatically pop in or resolve themselves when I read a space note in space.
New Smugglers Run game?
I was a big me1 can and hated the direction bioware started taking the iP in me2 and me3. I can't lie though, the trailer looked good and saw alot of things borrowed from me1. I think if you are being honest you have to agree. I'm a little hyped
Fuck... I hate them
ah shit yea
Sounds like elite copied that design ideology
I don't know, teaser looked promising
>good atmosphere and weird creatures
>focus on exploration and not so much combat
>no romance crap
As soon as they start announcing shit about romancs before the game releases, I'm not gonna buy it, but if they actually focus on story/atmosphere/exploration I might buy it, even after ME3.
Don't you even joke about this.
>Angel Studios will never make fun game again
But maybe you missed the point, the mako wasnt an Abrams tank, it was primarily a scouting/reconnaissance vehicle with some defensive measures that was great at traversing uneven and exotic terrain on vastly different planets. These planets were dangerous and I think bioware was right to make you feel weak and vulnerable. That was the reality.
The mako portions not only didn't annoy me, they actually were some of my favorite memories of the game
Couldn't agree with everything you said more
Can't wait to explore empty planets again
It doesn't bother you that all the races are probably gonna be changed and retconned for no particular reason?
>Drive across planet surface
>Nothing but endless desert and hills
>The same worm enemy on every planet
>Finally find whatever you were looking for
>It's the entrance of a bunker that has the same layout as any other copypasted bunker in the game
