For all that effort to make it smaller it's STILL bigger and weaker than a regular PS4, what the actual fuck MS
Looking forwards to Scorpio though, how will Sony respond?

If Sony doesn't have the stronger console, then they can only respond with lower pricetag.
The problem with smaller consoles is the increased hit
PS4 is always 10-12C above Xbox One.. which results in reduced lifespan.
Considering trading in xbone for the smaller one 2bh
>weaker than a regular PS4
>sonyggers actually believe this
This isn't Xbone.5.
I wish the Xbox One S was a little less... ugly
It is though, common knowledge.
Scopio will be far more powerful than Neo but PS4 beats pre Scorpio Xbone.
capitalism!
>far
It will be the same crap as the PS4/Xbone but inverted.
Xbox S = old Xbox One in new clothing
Xbox One was more powerful than the PS4 from day 1.
Microsoft seem paranoid about heat issues after the 360. The current Xbox One is mostly empty space and a giant fan, it runs noticably cooler and quieter than the PS4. They probably don't want to chance going as compact as the PS4. My launch PS4 sounds like a jet taxiing down the runway.
>lifespan
Lucky for you your PS4 will be obsolete by next year at the latest.
PS4 is 50% more powerful than Xbox one and Xbox S.
Reduced lifespan at 50 degrees celsius? Get real.
>announce new slimmer Xbaks
>30 seconds later announce that's it's out of date and you're bringing out new hardware
SO WHAT'S THE POINT IN MAKING A NEW OLD ONE?
Xb1 CPU - 10% faster than PS4
Xb1 GPU - 40% weaker than PS4
kono baito!!
Yes, that's why all Xbone games are 768p/900p to Sony PS4s 1080p.
also
PS4 memory bandwidth >>>>>>> xbone memory bandwidth
>memory bandwidth
Wow, you're really stretching to find something the PS4 does better, pulling out irrelevant shit like this. Sonyggers argue for such petty bullshit, like case size and memory bandwidth.
I wonder how the games will look on the new systems given Scorpio seems to be more powerful than Neo.
>memory bandwidth
>irrelevant
lol ok
Lmao. Bait?
The current PS4 is more powerful than Scorpio.
>replying to trolls
No, the PS4 has superior memory bandwidth AND 50% faster GPU which can actually use said bandwidth.
>asks if bait
>posts own bait
Too bad the PS4's memory latency is completely awful :3
We really noticed that with superior game performance huh!
doesn't matter in games
Microsoft can't design hardware...
The first 360 was built by designers/architects, then given to engineers with "fit the stuff inside this and make it work". You know how well that ended.
Xbox One was designed and built by the engineers in order to avoid another heating fuckup.
No. I posted an objective fact. It's literally no different than 2+2, which will always be 4. The current PS4 is more powerful than Scorpio. Neo isn't even going to be a comparison.
>still trying this hard
Please stop. You're an embarrassment.
I think you've got the consoles mixed up
xbone s ins't the scorpio
the ps4 was too small. that's why it overheats
My PS4 has never overheated in the year I've had it.
>superior performance
What all 2 fps.
>Being this autistic
...
Xbox Scorpio - 6 teraflops
Playstation Neo - 4.19 teraflops
Playstation 4 - 1.84 teraflops
Memory bandwidth
Xbox Scorpio - 320GB/s
Playstation Neo - 218GB/s
Playstation 4 - 176GB/s
PS4 is not more powerful than the Scorpio, if it were than the PS4 would also be more powerful than the Neo, and releasing it would be pointless.
(Expect Neo specs to change while Sony panics like Microsoft did and tries to beef up the specs)
Not the other idiot poster, but back in the PS2 says, Sony was weaker too.
I don't think they will be panicking as much as you put it.
All of the disadvantages you just mentioned can be countered by a +1 year launch headstart, as well as lower price tag.
Is this what a dying GPU looks like?
Maybe panic was the wrong word, but they won't want their ports to be the inferior ones now, especially after last gen with the PS3, especially after the shit Microsoft got for XB1 ports being the inferior ones, doubly so after Sony openly mocked Xbox.
That's what a poorly coded game looks like.
The neo/scorpio games will still be hamstrung visually because they are designed for the original ps4/xbone.
Apart from exclusives I would bet the neo/scorpio versions of most games will look exactly the same but at higher res/60fps, with maybe improved AA
All the developers will be targeting the vanilla PS4 anyway. That's the one with the big usebase.
how?
are you trying to imply bloodborne normally looks like that?
Neo/Scorpio can probably simply have higher settings from the PC version enabled for them.
To begin with yes. Devs already now the average gamer will put up with being shat on. How long before they target the Neo/Scorpio because they don't want to be hampered by low specs, and the PS4/XB1 versions are running at 720p 20fps?
Devs are usually the ones begging the hardware makers for better specs.
>PS4/XB1 versions are running at 720p 20fps?
Don't forget they are competing against other game developers too.
If their game performs like shit, then the other games will win.
And the average gamer doesn't notice or care about resolution, and to a lesser extent framerate.
The only time I've ever heard regular gamers complain about framerate this gen was in AC:Unity where the PS4 version would literally dip to below 15FPS in large crowds, and again in Fallout 4.
LMFAO!
I have both the One and a PS4, in order to play certain online games with friends who has only an Xbox. Sony's consoles have outperformed Microsoft's consoles from the beginning and it's still the same.
Why do all the Sup Forums teens get so butt hurt because the PS4/Neo is more powerful?
The other poster is dumb for saying the PS4 is more powerful than Scorpio, but on "paper" Neo's specs absolutely destorys Scorpio, just as the PS4 destroys the Xbox One. You don't have to take it as a personal attack just because the your console isn't as powerful as the other. They still work and play fun games flawlessly.
TEH POWA OF DA CLOUDZ
didn't you hear user?
consoles are dead
That's about how long the thermal paste stays good for.
But even with fresh thermal paste, the PS4's cooling system is inadequate for continuous 100% load as seen with the overheating issue Rocket League had. All PS4 games have a frame rate cap because the console would melt otherwise.
>3 consoles
>0 exclusives
Holy shit
Judging by the build quality, the Bone probably has 50% the lifespan of the PS4 though.
damn.. sonycucks are mad as fuck today
If you put your PS4 vertically it's possible to block the side vents on the console. I'm sure this causes heating issues
I just like it because it's white. It being better and the 2TB HDD is all just gravy.
You could just buy a 2TB HDD then. The 2TB version is $399. For $299 you get 500GB.
Considering Microsoft's past track record with console build quality and heat production I think it's better they stick to larger consoles. This coming from someone who went through 2 360s before getting the final revision S-model.
It literally took them 5 fucking years to create a console that wasn't also a dual-purpose mini-oven.
>Bloodborne is nothing but a simulation
the neo isn't going to be at E3 at all. so they might wait until next E3 to announce it and hopefully up the power to out power the scorpio since early reports place the neo at 4.2 tflops and the scorpio is now confirmed at 6.
sales will always be an advantage for sony at this point but it'll tip the market a bit.
I think the point most people I've spoken to are missing is the fact that its a 4k hdr bluray player and its 100 bucks less than the current 4k bluray player.
Forget comparing it to ps4, its a value proposition to everyone who owns a 4k tv
how can you possibly say the Neo is more specs destroy Scorpio on paper when it is literally the other way around in every quantifiable measure?
>blu ray
grandpa 4k streaming exists.
I know that and I've already been making use of my streaming in 4k hdr on certain services, but disc will look better than streaming in most cases, at least it is likely to.
Additionally I knew a good many people that bought ps3 because it functioned as a good and cheap bluray player. Now the xbone s can fit that role for someone who wants to find a player to go along with their tv.
This is demonstrably false.
>everyone who owns a 4k tv
I'm sure all 50 of them will be thrilled
This is the dumbest shit on Sup Forums today. And that's saying something.
im psyched
who fucking cares, stop supporting this bullshit, just get a PC
Why would they panic?
PS4neo is good enough for what they want, will probably be cheaper than Scorpio, and release about 8 months prior.
If anything they have the upper hand. No dev will push the limits on PS4neo/Scorpio, as every game _MUST_ be compatible with the original PS4/Xbone, so PS4neo/Scorpio will just be +rez +fps machines. They power difference between them is wholy irrelevant, either one will be able to run any PS4/Xbone game at 1080p60fps, that's their one and only job.
If this was the start of a new generation and 6 teraflops VS 4.2 teraflots was the baseline, then yes we would see another PS2/Xbox situation (or this current gen but switched around) but the baseline is STILL the PS4 and the Xbone.
Think of the Scorpio and PS4neo like getting two 1080GTX today. You can run ANY game flawlessly with them, but prettier games won't appear out of nowhere, most games for the next 5 years will still have to run on PS4's and Xbone's so they will look like current gen for a while, regardless if you have sli1080GTX's or only one.
PS4neo = Scorpio in practical terms.
Sony can't respond with anything other than a price tag.
They've already designed the machine, sent out devkits, sourced components etc.
If they were to try and match Microsoft's specs, they'd almost be starting from square one.
So next year we'll be seeing a PlayStation Neo with a 4 Tflops GPU, and an Xbox Scorpio with a 6tflop GPU.
Considering their target is VR, the PS Neo isn't looking too great, considering that the R9 480 is providing the low end performance for VR, things don't bode too well for Sony.
And Microsoft aren't in a great position for the future either, unlike Sony they don't have a VR solution yet.
>'F
Nice try
Nigga most hardware is rated to handle up to 75'C or 167'F
>will probably be cheaper than Scorpio,
Highly unlikely. Sony can't afford to take a loss in order to get more sales. Their playstation division is litteraly the only thing not in the red. All we know is that they've confirmed it will cost more than the PS4
Microsoft on the other hand can take a hit, and is liable to under cut sony.
>and release about 8 months prior
Sony has been dodging any questions about the neo's release date, and all we know in regards to that is that their launch plan for it was bad enough to cause their stock to go down.
Mean while we have some semblance of a release date for the scorpio.
I agree with most everything else you said, but the facts don't support these statements
>And Microsoft aren't in a great position for the future either, unlike Sony they don't have a VR solution yet.
Hololens, though that's really AR and more aimed torwards buisnesses
However scorpio also has VR function.
Todd the liar even talked about it and fallout 4 VR on scorpio
Who cares how big it is? This is just a cost saving measure for MS.
>Highly unlikely. Sony can't afford to take a loss in order to get more sales
I didn't imply a loss. Scorpio is more powerful and will be released within a relatively short time span from the PS4neo, so it's only natural it'll cost slightly more, my guess is about $50
>Their playstation division is litteraly the only thing not in the red.
And it has seperated from the rest since April.
extremetech.com
For now it doesn't mean much, but if things go sour the Playstation brand has an easy(er) way out.
The release date is indeed just a baseless assumption, but something I think will happen since the original talks came from devs who knew devs already working for it. While the Scorpio was more of a secret (Bethesda's top gun told Geoff that after the MS conference, he couldn't relay information to his development teams, so they'll only now start working on the Scorpio, while PS4neo has had dev support since before this year's GDC)
Not that guy, but your own facts are pretty dodgy in my opinion.
You know these two chips use bleeding edge expensive manufacturing, right?
Those additional +2 teraflops won't come for free.
Those additional teraflops won't be easy to manufacture on bleeding edge in the +tens of millions for cheap.
The more error rates the Scorpio chip gets, the exponentially more expensive it will be for each chip.
Common sense says the Xbox's large chip will hit far more errors, and will need several more months, maybe even a year to reach enough quantities for a console launch.
And furthermore, you're saying Microsoft is willing to burn Billions just to destroy Sony. Being arm chair CEO is easy, but I don't think reality will work out that way.
>neo red pill
there you go.
ps4 is a console for medium setting.
neo is high setting.
and neo red pill ultra setting with 4k textures.
MS shills in full force
>Looking forwards to Scorpio though
How can you be so deluded? XBOX ANYWHERE IS GOING TO APPLY TO THE SCORPIO TOO.
I bought a xone because of this reason, I like the lifespan.
lmao
The new old one is the value base model so that people getting their first bone don't have to get the new SUPER AYCH DEE ONE THOUSAND AND EIGHTY PEES AND SIXTY FUPS if they don't care about that or can't afford it.
