It's not a reboot, it's not a sequel, it's a genre shift which will frustrate people who liked the original and not appeal to newcomers who didn't like the original because it has the stigma of the old games.

Genre shifts appeal to absolutely no one and are hated by everybody regardless of the game or platform.
Spin offs are one thing but this is clearly not a spin off. It's using old well known and potentially loved characters and putting them in a genre almost entirely not their own.

All we got from GoW1 to Ascension was taking minor weapons from enemies and getting a tiny moveset with them. Also MP.

GoW's combat system was fucking done. Even DMC4 felt kinda eh after DMC3. Series just hit their peak in terms of combat systems.

I haven't played Mirror's edge 2 yet, but I played the 1st for over a hundred hours. They tack in leveling up for fucking running. It didn't need rpg elements.WHY? They put essential moves behind upgrades, and put a horrible story in candering to feminzis who will just move on to the next trend. You really think they'll stick around for you when you fail? No, but I'll wait and see. And they made it open world, this is bad because the whole point was to move forward, you can't go back and that added thrill to it, there's no going back, it's fun and exciting and thrilling. No mistakes to do it again. You have to keep running and not look back. There were certain elements in level design you can't do in open world with that concept and vice versa.
