That seems like it's only solidifying the fact that they still have at least a part of him though, unless I'm reading this wrong.

But knowing Vicarious Visions' past attempts, I feel like I can trust them.

They have also made a Crash rendition of him that I actually like, although I'm not sure if it's either going to look like Skylanders Crash or this kind of Crash. But this one seems so friendly and lovable, I can't help but want to hug the little fellow compared to Skylanders Crash, which seems a bit off despite trying to look more faithful.

Pretty sure this design was scrapped though, which is a shame, IMO.

I'd be happier with a remaster than this remake, the gameplay of nearly all the games is fine apart from some of the vehicle levels kinda sucking and crash 1 being a little janky at times

N. Gin in Crash 2 felt like N. Brio but more faithful to Cortex despite his fuck-ups, it wasn't until the later games where they tried making him into a Dr. Frankenstein-esque assistant

He probaly had a pretty stable mind and presence in Crash 2, the villians in the old Crash games are surprisingly competent and intimidating.

They're trying to find out if Crash Bandicoot is something the younger gamers of today would be interested in. To do that safely, they have to still make sales. The best way to test the waters with an old game and still make sales is to resell the gameplay which people already enjoyed with the graphics which the younger gamers can handle.

If prettier visuals alone can't revive Crash, they'll have to change the gameplay, which will piss off the old fans.

So, their two options for this release were:
>remaster: Something older fans know they can have fun with and younger gamers MAY enjoy
>completely new game: Something younger gamers MAY enjoy, but older fans WILL bitch about

I don't blame them for choosing the remaster route.
