Some cards are stronger than others
Stronger cards cost more
This isn't a difficult concept

>GTX 1070 $550

What?

yeah because paying twice more for a card thats 20% faster is totally justified

amazon check the prices

Its expensive on Amazon right now mainly due to the rush of early adopters who I guess can't wait for the price to settle.

>GTX 1070 $550
Where are you getting your prices?
1070 is only $379 for market version.
Even the founders edition is only $449.
Get your facts right before posting things like this.

Those are probably the prices scalpers are charging. The most expensive new 1070 so far is around $450 I believe.

to be fair in EU its €500
the 1080 is at €800
thats like $900

nvidia doesnt give a fuck because they have no competition

Luckily buying the more expensive card is not mandatory.

The 1070s were supposed to be $380 from reports, damn it.

Why can't a poorfag have a chance?

>Even the founders edition is only $449.

just

I might actually upgrade my 770 now that the 980 will drop in price

keeping watch on this thread

The scary part is that Sony and Microsoft see the sales numbers and their mouths start to water.

>3 random-ass vendors

>paying 700 burger coins for GP100

show me a 1070 for $450 and i will believe you
PROTIP

you cant

So Amazon is out of stock and the third party sellers who have it jacked up the price due to demand. Wow.

geforce.com/hardware/10series/geforce-gtx-1070

That's the price on Amazon. Don't be salty.

The price will settle to the MSRP, but right now there is just demand pressure. In a few months you'll be golden.

1070. Just wait. I don't think the price will fall that fast. A lot of people will have the same idea you have, plus people looking to SLI. You may get lucky and find someone trying to dump their card (meaning you buy used), but I thought the same thing would happen with the 780 when the 970 was launched and it took an extremely long time.

Actually... I gotta decide what to do with the 780. I guess I'll try and ebay it. Maybe keep it around as a phsyx card? But I'll need a stronger power supply.

>out of stock

People do that when they buy collector's editions of movies/video games/etc.

>in 2016, people are still buying the base release versions of graphics cards, when aftermarket modifications drastically improve performance

Who knew, Nvidia cards actually sell out and thus scalping becomes a thing. I guess our AMD friends are not familiar with the concept.

AMD cards never sell out. That's why.
