When was the last time you went to an arcade, user?

When was the last time you went to an arcade, user?

The Round 1 near me got a new game where you use two hand guns and combine them via magnets to use machine guns or grenade launchers and shit.

Why are Dave and Busters so shit compared to Jap arcades, even imported Jap arcades like Round 1?

I forget, I don't have any friends to go with and it's cheaper to buy a game on sale. 10$ for an hour or less of gameplay or 10-20$ for 10+ hours.

>The Round 1 near me
You lucky fucker.

tfw closest r1 is like a three hour drive away

As for your question it's probably a matter of arcade owners prioritizing what makes "safe" money (like Stacker, coin pushers, ticket games) instead of less "safe" games that are actually good (like IIDX, Time Crisis, fighting games)

Round 1 is Japanese company, isn't it?

>go to japan
>attempt to play this
>have no idea how the fuck to do anything
>rage and play project diva instead
fuck i wanted to enjoy that shit, if anything gets me harder its any sort of dual wielding

Round 1 in MoVal has initial d but the system links don't work

I was at Disney Quest the other week, for the final day of my holiday. It's a nice arcade, although a lot of the machines are a little worse for wear.

Still, got to play some stuff I've never had a chance to before, like Jambo Safari, which was fucking fantastic. Apparently they're shutting the place down to replace it with some fucking sports thing, damn shame.

Other than that, I'm lucky since we have a Namco Station in my city, and a dude who runs his own freeplay arcade with loads of retro cabs, arcades are basically dead in the UK but we have two decent ones.

Also, THE GREAT DEBATE. I think 3 is the better game, but I have a real softspot for 2. 4 was a mess, 1 is unfair, 5 I can't get used to the dual pedals yet.

Funny enough, the same mall with the Round 1 near me is the Puente Hills mall, where BttF was shot during this scene. They even have the Twin Pines Mall sign on display inside.

The problem is, the mall was planted right smack in the middle of an Asian bowl, so it has an AMC and Round 1, but most of the mall is rather empty and filled with off-beat stores. I enjoy off-beat stores, but I feel like the mall should be more popular.

Closest to me is in a bowling alley, they have timecrisis, house of the dead 2 and tekken 4, aswell as super pang, bubble bobble, metal slug x and area 51.

I like 2.

>Dave and busters bad

Depends on location

I got 3 near me and 2 them are all ticket prize machines which a lot of birthday parties happen.

The 3rd one near me which is farther away have tons of fighting games and pool tables along with some Japanese game.

A lot of the older crowd hang out there and play by the old arcade rules that if you lose it's the other person turn.

You're probably a retard that goes to Dave and Busters alone and doesn't drink because "normies REEEEEE"

Last I arcade I went to worth remembering was in Tokyo 4 years ago and I played this exact game for hours. It's really fucking fun.

It was a doing the hero shooter thing way before Overwatch and Battleborn.

Lucky fuck. Every D&B near me is purely ticket and mobile games.

At least this ticket game is literally the most fun ticket game in the world. All skill and no bullshit.

about 3 months ago, there was a little retro arcade place a few towns over, it was fun

>Why are Dave and Busters so shit compared to Jap arcades,

Because D&B are casual as fuck and have a bunch of cabinet sized cell phone games. I never understood that. Why would I want to spend $1 a time to play fucking Temple Run and Fruit Ninja when I can get it on my phone.

What was so hard about it? I managed to pick it up pretty quickly, and even carried my team a couple times. The hardest part was reading the menus because there's so much kanji.

Finally got a chance to try Star Wars Battle Pod like a week ago.
It's cool, but it's too on-rail and the Medium level is too casual. Was hoping for something like Afterburner

I agree on this. It was a fun ride to go through the first time, but the second time was when I realized it was casual as fuck. At least it's a nice little roller coaster of sound effects and lights.

Holy shit i was on holiday in Florida last week too but purely to go to Disney Quest before it shuts down. Jambo Safari was suprisengly fun!

Shame really, it looks great and the pod is also cool. I guess I still have to stick with Afterburner and Tekken every time I go to local arcades

Why does Asians love Tekken so much anyway, holy shit. Put back the SFIV arcade cabinet, I want to try playing it with a stick

>That coaster simulator where you designed your own track
>Expect it to be the usual simulator setup
>May as well make the track super extreme since these simulators are so tame!
>mfw

I live within about 30 minutes of two different Round 1s, but it's too expensive for me to go often.

I really want to just take the plunge and get a K-Shoot Mania setup for myself, but eh. Maybe I'll build something up proper if I ever get an invite to Sows.

Where is Round 1?

Excellent arcades with lots of Japanese imports.

They also do billiards, karaoke, and bowling.
