it needs to be faster

The boss is jarring to the general aesthetic.
The gameplay seems a tad too slow.

Besides that it looks and seems to play fine.

Looking forward to improvement.
and more monster girls

Bloodstained?
More like cumstained.

Looks and behaves like a Metroidvania game, which is what I was expecting and hoping for.

I was also a bit surprised by the way Miriam gains new powers. A giant shard of glass impaling her? Yikes. But I guess it goes hand in hand with the fact that the poor girl is in constant pain and on the verge of dying.

Waiting on demo. I am happy this wasnt a swindle.

If possible, I would like for there to be an option to get the camera closer to Miriam.

...

This. Harmony of Despair had the same issue.

Looks good so far.

Agreed with boss/stage aesthetic, but given how everything else looks, I'm more of the opinion that it's the stage that needs to change to be put in line.

Why would the stage need change? that would take a shit ton of work and avoiding the actual problem. All the enemies designs work for the aesthetic of the stage besides the boss. The boss is full blown neon anime. they need to just tweet the looks of boss.

>people have played the final release of MN9 and all say it's good

It's okay. The meme was fun while it was still relevant.

Nice tits.

BREE BREE BREEEEE BRERERERERBREEE
BREE BREE BREEEEE BRERERERERBREEE
GUITAR RIFF GUITAR RIFF GUITAR RIFF

I know it's a sample track but holy fuck it needed to be longer or tone that part down.

Indeed.

All I know is that I am happy to see results. Igarashi delivered what he has promised so far, and that makes me happy.

Year of the sea cowtits

>The boss is full blown neon anime.

Just like the main character, menus; colorful flashes and effects on enemy death and enemies themselves - it just happens that the color scheme of the small enemies is dark, even if saturated, so it's less immediately apparent.

>that would take a shit ton of work and avoiding the actual problem.

But this is one stage. Hopefully the others are more in line with the general aesthetic on display.

wish the jump and fall speed was faster

>Just like the main character
She has 3 primary colors. Deep Blue, black and pale skin color. The only thing that stands out of hers is the small almost unnoticeable glass shards trickling from her when she moves. Not like the boss who is 6 different neon colors and looks like she is a giant god damn balloon. Bitch is nothing but loud colors. for a dreary stage with black sludge monsters and shit.

The menu screen is also just 3 colors. and the background is nothing fancy or bright. Just windows.

I understand there are bright light sources but that is their job. The boss design and aesthetic just does not work for the whole stage shown while everything else does.

Why mythological monster is that boss supposed to be anyway?

The Dark Souls of Side scrolling beat em ups

That idle animation is great.

It's pretty similar to some depictions of Scylla

Why are people trying to paint this as the next MN9 on Sup Forums anyway? Barely one year of development and it's already made significant progress and looks much better than MN9

It seems like it plays alright, but it looks like shit. Bad lighting and washed out colors.

Vepar, a male demon from the Lesser Keys of Solomon/Ars Goetia which is where they're pulling most of the enemies from. And yes I said male. Vepar is typically depicted with feminine features and called a Mermaid, but is referred to as being male

I honestly have never seen anyone say that this is the next MN9. The only thing I've seen is someone criticizing something about the game and someone else going "YOU JUST WANT THIS TO BE THE NEXT MN9 OR THE NEXT TORTANIC"

B-B-B-B-BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK BAD!!!!!!!!

Sorry, user. I am not really seeing what you are talking about.

for a broken ship in the middle of a storm
It would be weird as fuck if it was bright and colorful during those events.

I want someone to brush up the right pic to make it look less "washed out" So I can understand why you think it is actually bad.

People just want to bring up MN9 so they can circlejerk about how shit it is. They try do it in Shantae threads too.

I know the one on the left is from shantae, but what is the one on the right from? Bloodstained?

Looks good, actually. It has a mostly cool palette that they then juxtapose with warm lights.

Boss of Bloodstianed's E3 demo. Ad like 6 different Neon colors and a slimely texture and you get that monsters actual looks.

OP's video shows him at the end of it.

I still wish the stained glass parts of her skin looked more obviously crystalline. Maybe it's too much to ask for such a small detail, but it just looks like a tattoo.

Didn't realize how big her boobs actually are.

The gameplay looks solid but the aesthetic is questionable

Especially the boss (no I'm not talking about the tits)

The picture on the left is a literal sunken ship. No excuses, motherfucker.

As long as those aren't the final animations, it's exactly what I wanted

I waited to see how it came along and only slackerbacked it last week, but it looks like I worried for nothing. Hype.

Hope this makes a buttload of money and they can justify using sprites for the next one though

They best they did for that was a small glass shard effect trailing from her torso when she moves.

Almost unnoticeable.

I had no idea this game was related to Super Bummerman 2.

>they can justify using sprites for the next one though
That's not gonna happen. They intend to reuse assets from this game the same way they reused sprites from every Castlevania after Rondo. They're already showcasing that in this game with the Classicvania mode.

Wait so is the demo out yet?

Nah, it looks fine. If anything, the atmosphere of the left is awkward for what it is.

My one gripe is how stiff everything seems.

Demo is not out yet. The backers will get a notice when it does. This is the E3 demo shown at, guess what, E3.

No. People have been playing it at E3 the last few days and they intend to release it for backers when the event is over.

>tfw only backed enough for the game but not for the demo

they said after E3

...

E L F

I think it's supposed to be someone who got glass aids.

Yeah, her boobs are quite large. I suspect this was a design decision since a flat chest wouldn't have showcased her crystal disease as strongly.

Need waifus to save.

This memer again?

He's the ACfag of Bloodstained at this point

I'm willing to bet that the game will have equippable items that increase movement speed a la PoR.

Wew lad

You blind brah?

Anyone know if the artist has a gallery, tumblr or something.

Complete garbage and if it costs more than $5 dollars then it's also a rip off

Just pick up castlevania for cheap, this game is definitely not going to be better

I really hope all enimies have a shard to absorb and its not just certain ones, that was my favorite part of the sorrows games

whatever happened to that shitposter from the sword vs whip days who bitched incessantly about the game and Iga and said he would make his own multiplayer metroidvania with blackjack and hookers

Looks alright for an early version.

While it doesn't look terrible, I'm glad I didn't back it.

I'm hoping that the final version of the enemies, or at least later level enemies, are a lot more interesting. These guys are just standing/floating around, not really doing anything.

well it's the first level

In a demo vid Iga stated that the only enemy that doesn't drop a shard is the dark-blob humanoid thingy you see in the demo, as only full demon drop shards, and those are only half-demon, still in the middle of the transformation process.

The giant mermaid was my favorite since I saw her concept art. I hope more people draw her.

Oh, and the armored Lamia.

can you source me that would get me hype

Need armpit/glasses/holding hair up in bigger resolution and not flipped

But this is exactly what we wanted you dense fucker.

>Using assets twice in the same game is the same as reusing assets over two games

Nigger what

it's fucking ugly.

I though they were going for the high res anime fully 2d thing. It looks like that shitty 3ds lords of sorrow game.

I've played all the CV games dumbass

I want more

Will this game have more tittymonsters in it?

>Didn't realize how big her boobs actually are.
One major thing with females when portrayed in small scale, is that you need the boobs enlarged to even be visible at the size they are in. This is a trait that goes back to the 16 bit FF days, and most famously with Tiffa of FF when she is in SD mode.

It was also indirectly shown when an attempt was made to give Barbie dolls realistic proportions. It was realised that it just doesn't work at all for Barbie if she didn't have porn star proportions. Being shrunken in size makes features indistinct.

FYI. It's a male.

This. The only thing I didn't liked was the music, doesn't even compare to the comfy Castlevania tracks.

Other than that, game looks fine.

Around the 5 minute mark:
youtube.com/watch?v=tYG4heJ2Ojw

Oh godammit Goetia.

>I though they were going for the high res anime fully 2d thing.

Was never a thing, you just looked at pictures and never read anything

Also holy fuck you this doesn't look half as bland, ugly and low poly as that shit 3DS game. And it actually plays like CV.

Probably. Source: Castlevania games

It's not the real music, just something put on top of footage. Someone linked a video with actual game audio earlier. Expect more along the lines of something like this youtube.com/watch?v=6VKfthxb4t8

And the reason why that's true is because you just read about a demon?

I'm trying to find this game on the E3 show floor. Anybody know where they're keeping it??

Ah that explains it all. Based Japanese dracula wouldn't let me down

Sure hope so. Castlevania has a bit of a legacy of them.

Looks pretty good to me, I liked the graphics and the way the background moves to simulate the ship rolling. That oppai tentacle monster boss was pretty neat as well.

However idk how to feel about the combat, the weapons seem really short range. I'm not so sure how I feel about it having a leveling system and infinitely respawning enemies, are you going to have to grind? I feel like it should only have pseudo leveling by you finding more powerful gear and abilities as you progress through the game instead of just "you killed 31 monsters now you inexplicably do 1 more damage!" Also idk about you but it seemed kind of ridiculous to me that you can kill a boss that big just by kicking it in the tentacle a whole bunch, its hundreds of times your size, it looks like it could snap the ship in half no problem.

The animations are nice though.

is the demo out already?

Where the dfc at?

The reason why that is true is because Bloodstains references for their monsters is primarily Goetia shit and The boss in the demo is pretty much a Vepar. Something referred to as a mermaid but is a male.

Don't blame the developers for ancient Latin bullshit.

Because it's literally a demon from the Ars Goetia. They said they were using that for the game's bestiary months ago when they revealed ol' Camel Toe here. Same for the Buer enemies.

Did they send out the demo yet? I didn't get a link in my email.

And this stops it from being something like another Scylla or other sea monster because they're just doing another CV bestiary?

Read nigga read.

post comfy castlevania tracks
youtube.com/watch?v=vlayiIBH75o

Yes.
Because Scylla isn't Ars goetia. it's greek.

Someone could probably just mod in a flat chested Miriam.

indeed

is that crystalized sweat on her armpits.

This is my fetish

M-m-m... Boss boobs
