Has there ever been a bigger marketing blunder?
Has there ever been a bigger marketing blunder?
the Vita itself
I bought it for 20 dollars, what's wrong with it beside the absurd memory card prices?
Yes, Wii U, Ouya, tons of devices
the PS TV was a repackaged PS Vita with an HDMI port and limited software support. Anyone that actually thought it would succeed is an idiot. It's got like 4 media apps, all of which are garbage compared to the versions on Roku and Chromecast.
Wii U
Specifically Sony?
2006 E3
>a cheap alternative to a handheld
>ever being relied on to "succeed"
Nothing, it's just that it had the shittiest marketing and support ever
>games have to be whitelisted in order to work
>barely advertised as playing vitagames
>Even developers pages don't know if it's compatible or not
>doesn't support netflix
They dropped the ball pretty hard
Does anyone know how to homebrew these things so you can play emulators on it?
Ever heard of the WikiPad 7?
Of course you haven't, that's how much of a blunder it was. I still love it though, bout it for $100 while they were clearing out stock. It's a great device.
psp go, vita, virtual boy, sega 32x/CD/saturn
The Virtual Boy, the Ouya, the Wii U.
It wasn't a marketing blunder, it was just a blunder product. There are so many smartTV enabling gadgets out there, you had no reason to choose vitaTV over anything else.
The one decent thing about it is that it allows people to stream some vita games without blowing an arm and leg for some dodgy console mod.
...
Steambox
That controller is so confusing holy shit
>marketing blunder
What marketing?
Yes.
WOW, FUCK OFF! RENOWNED designer of beautiful products YVES BEHAR designed that thing
yep, this
Again, not a marketing blunder. Everybody knows about the vita, it's just that sony got cold feet and stopped making mainstream games for it. Then rockstar never followed up on another portable GTA, Square enix never followed up on some crazy final fantasy spin off or kingdom hearts, and there basically is no good AAA racing game like midnight club, flatout, etc.
