I fucking love me some Burnout. I really wish they'd release a new one with all those modes from Burnout 3.

Burnout Revenge

>Criterion Games will never make another Burnout
Might as well off myself.

Paradise City is a cool game but it's skeevy as fuck the way EA wants you to sign up for its shit and hijacks your camera to take a picture of you.

If you disconnect or cover your camera and don't sign up for their bullshit or use a fake name then it's a chill as hell game with a pretty big world to drive around in. Great time-waster.

Need for Speed U is an almost identical game in concept. Personally I prefer burnout, though.

Regret trading my copy of this when I was a dumbass teenager.

For me its CTR anyway, but it would be Burnout 3 as well if I still had a copy.

I still get nostalgia chills from this song youtu.be/sW47PEWHWkk when I hear it on the radio because of this game

I forgot that existed. I honestly don't remember fuck all about it, even though I played it.

>those F1 races
FUCK

I miss playing the Burnout for the original X-Box. It had a crash mode that was basically bowling with cars, and that was fucking awesome.

STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl

Donkey Kong Country.

>driving on opposite lane

who /turned off any song that wasn't rock/ here

RE4
Dead Space 1
Bloodlines

Dungeon Keeper

>Alpine Burning Lap

I have never been so terrified of going fast.

>One game

While we're on the subject of features that got removed in later games
>Music gets more hype when you're boosting
Where the hell did that go?

Always and forever.

>Driving in anything other than the opposite lane
There's no other way to play burnout.

pissed me off when so many reviewers complained about the soundtrack

then in revenge it just meant i had to turn half the soundtrack off

>high octane racing game about taking down opponents
>not a fucking rock soundtrack

Vice city

Only the best

>holding down the nitro button all time
This is the only correct way to play the game

STALKER SoC and RE4

>tfw cant find a copy of 5 or 0 at any of my local games stores

What the fuck, I've found 4 everywhere and even at 50 cents at this one place but why are the others so impossible to find?

Because they're better games.

Absolutely love it.

The only thing they messed up with Revenge is they did not give you the option once you were done to free race any track and any car type at will. You could only play the available races. This is why I never really replayed it and online was a lag fest and was just not fun.

I'd like a new Burnout Paradise type game it was great.

you right

AC4 became a best seller so once it became a greatest hit they made tons of it.

faster, FASTER, FASTER
miss a turn and slam directly into a wall and pieces go rocketing out the atmosphere in slow mo.
fuck these games were fun

Takedown>Revenge

Traffic Checking was fun but kinda got old afterwhile.

Also the people that made Dangerous Golf are making a "Burnout Sequel" of some Sorts

Rock and Roll Racing

>mfw let the carnage begin!

nigga did you just link to an image on an image board?

Isn't that criterion?

I know they made really well done car sections in the Medal of Honor Warfighter game. You can even takedown cars during the city chase.

So phamalam what was goto song for time attack and road rage that put you in the zone?
youtube.com/watch?v=GCNnnZ84UB8

You could check traffic in Paradise if you had a heavy car.

Criterion in it's current form has hardly of the staff that worked on the burnout games. They are currently Three Fields Entertainment who are former criterion staff.

To be quite honest I don't think we'll ever see an actual burnout game from EA ever again.

Jesus Christ my fucking nigger.

Shame blizzard doesn't make good shit like that any more.

Company was far better before they became blizzard.

Also burnout 3 Is also goat

The checking in Paradise was no where to the effect in Revenge.

This is true. It was much more visceral and satisfying in the older games.

Yeah the last real criterion "burnout" like game was NFS Hot Pursuit.

>mfw this song is also on flatout 2
200% HYPE

>NFS games that don't let you play as the police, too
Man I really liked that part.

JET SET RADIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Why did EA effectively kill Burnout anyway? I always thought it made enough money to warrant making new ones. Did Paradise flop or something?

I played the hell out of Burnout 3 but I couldn't get into Paradise at all.

Oh don't get me wrong, it's not nearly the game that other Burnouts are, but as far as the whole open-world chilling out and just driving factor goes, it's alright. Better than NFSU at least.

It's still only barely a Burnout game.

>Paradise
>Flop
Paradise was VERY successful. What happened was that due to Blackboxe's NFS titles going down in quality since Most Wanted(2005) EA wanted to put life back in to the NFS series so they put Criterion in charge of the NFS games.

It was a best seller which is weird. I think the social stuff with the cameras killed the game.

>All this Burnout love
I salute you all, my wonderul african americans

>when you try to decide what game has the best soundtrack burnout 3, revenge, paradise or SSX tricky

Ace combat 4, 5 and zero. No contest.

I replay Star Wars Racer once in a while.

...

The only thing I didn't like was panama as the intro song, it doesn't fit the rest of the music in the game menus. The opening before the music was perfection with the orchestra and opera singing.

GT5's smooth jazz menus were quite pleasant.

I might have an unusual admiration for Armored Core: Nexus. It's everything I love about the PS2 armored core titles, but with a proper control scheme. Awesome music, and the "Revolution" bonus disk was an awesome addition with the the "Evolution" disk which contained the main game. The Revolution disk was like a lite HD collection for the PS1 titles with plenty of unlockables (Movies, Pictures, Music) and even things that could be brought into the main game (Parts, Emblems).

>I think the social stuff with the cameras killed the game.
As some who put in a whole bunch of time with the game you are wrong.

>tfw I found 4, 5, and 0 at a pawnshop for $5

If only I owned a PS2, the just sit on my shelf mocking me.

I think Burnout 3 was one of the only Ps2 games that I never traded into gamestop.

Same copy and same console works after all these years. There's been more than one occasion in the past few years where my friends and I got drunk and played Burnout 3 multiplayer. We'd joke about getting good at drunk driving in a video game.

I put in a whole lot of time into the game but it was ONLY because I had to circumvent that bullshit first. It very nearly did turn me off of the game before I even started it.

>All this talk about Takedown's soundtrack being good
>tfw you turned off the music in every single burnout game just to hear nothing but engines and car crashes.

Seriously the music has always been shit in burnout games.

I really don't like the style of music in the games but they fit and make me nostalgic.

>bought 4 on Amazon for 0.01 before S&H
>bought 5 on Amazon for 0.01 before S&H
>bought 0 on Amazon for ~12$ before S&H, 0 arrived in an AC4 case with an extra copy of AC4 for some reason

I have two copes of AC4 now, I guess.
