Yes considering it's a console TPS. Besides, gears is more of a tactical, frame trapping mind game tps, basically a fighting game as a TPS, it wouldn't work as a faster paced game.

DOOM was a breath of fresh air in a realm of "we arr rook same" FPSs. If more people tried to make their FPS fun instead of just "cool" we'd probably have way better shooters.

Looks to me like Gears 4 learned from the mistakes of Judgment. Looks like it's going to be another solid addition to this great franchise.

they focused on 60fps in the Gears ultimate edition for both PC and Xbone, so I think they're going to try and do it again at least for the PC version

Fun as they were Gears ended after 3 and Gears 4 looks like it's going the Halo route by try to expand on a finished story. Besides Microsoft is already implying theyre going to port it to PC like every other exclusive they had.

The Gears story was never some big hollywood masterpiece, it was a cheesy B-movie plot just there for some fun mindless co-op.

Gears is fun as fuck. It has tight controls, did TPS cover shooter before many others tackled it, and doesn't take itself too seriously. Horde mode and co-op are fantastic, too.

it's glorious. The marketing and the campaign are totally different beasts to the multiplayer. If you're sitting still in cover for more than a second, you're dead. Execution, gnasher starts or GTFO

Gears of War is not comparative to Doom and TNO, two of them are first person shooters and the other is a third.

It's a TPS, totally different from an FPS, the style, the speed, mechanics, level design, everything changes.

It's like claiming that Gran Turismo can't exist because Mario Kart is a thing or vice versa

Gears shines on MP. The AI sucks on Gears. It needed a smart AI without auto aim. Doom had excelent AI.

Now mp, mp is the shit dude. The skill ceiling is huge. A good player will always beat bad players. I scored consistently as at the top most of the times as mvp. W/L was at 3.something and k/d at 2.5.

i only like gears 1. the long games with 15-19 round matches were super fun. talking shit in between rounds with the other team. everything after doesnt do it for me

the fact that Gears (on servers or good connection) rewards skill based movement I'd say it's great. I've also been playing since Gears 1 and honestly it's one of the best TPS out there. The movement rather unique when you think about it.
