1st Dead Rising is very depressing and cynical, hell, the canonical ending is where Frank gets infected and the government forces murder all survivors/witnesses.
2nd just ditched that for zaniness while still being fairly grounded

Rise of the Tomb Raider only had $10 of DLC worth buying so it's not going to be that much better on PS4 in terms of content. Should look and run better though, Xbone version has some pretty shitty input lag.

I waited to get DR3 until it was $18 and I'm glad I waited because frankly it's not a very good game. It's not horrible or anything but honestly unremarkable as hell. Even the game's big gimmick, having tons of zombies on-screen, is worthless. If you're not within 10 feet of a zombie it doesn't even know you exist so the crowds are mostly static.

2 worked because it was still satire. The problem with 3 was that the setting (being locked in a city until nuked) was too generic and serious for any satire to play out. Still pretty fun to play at least

Unless there's a joke within the meta aspects of all of the "This is a Dead Rising Sequel" design choices. But those just grated on me.

I read "Windows 10 exclusive" as "Windows 10 app store exclusive" i.e. it's coming to Steam after those 90 days and presumably it has a DX11 renderer so it will run on W7.

I especially liked how DR3 forgot that Phenotrans already cured the Zombie condition, yet the plot for it insisted Isabela started the outbreak to find Nick to make a cure.

I'm upset about the basics though. I obsessively played Dead Rising, and many times tried and failed to make new multiachievement runs. I was actually pretty upset how easy it was to manage saving every survivor and kill every psycho in Dead Rising 2, and the new feature that interested: the TIR minigames had the worst matchmaking I had ever seen, and I only ever got to play 6 games.

That makes more sense. Still kinda lame Microsoft figured out a way to make timed exclusivity a thing on PC.

Define superior. Just because a game is released on a platform doesn't make it automatically inferior nor superior. For instance, pc ports are inferior for me if the console versions are playable. I could get some of them on pc and individual titles could have unique features, but on the whole, consolidating my platform use, talking to my friends, and not having to wait for localizations and ports makes the console version superior to me. Preferences are very unique. Obviously, these factors will be different for everyone else. I don't try to imply that you're wrong for having other priorities, but I'm sick of this automatic assumption that pc is automatically superior for every legitimate reason.

There is no such thing as equivalent hardware because consoles use proprietary apus. Pcs also have adjustable settings, meaning anything can run great depending on what sacrifices you are willing to make.
