Like, Gurren Lagann at least made an excuse where everything is powered by spiral energy so at least it makes sense in that universe. A lot of the times it just feels like a cheap asspull though.
I also think a lot of giant robot designs are designed oddly. Like, the design is too busy or it's too human-like.
For example, I generally like Zaku gundams the best because of their one eye. One big lens that sweeps across the head unit like a camera makes more sense to me, you know? It seems like something that could actually exist if someone had the money, time and fucks to give.
But that would be retarded since not all robots in all robot shows are in the same scale. Some are truck sized and some bigger than skyscrapers. That doesnt even count some shit when the robots go galaxy sized, how are you supposed to use any other robot after that?
