Werner Spahl (Wesp5) has been making the Unofficial Patches since the game came out. He's an analytical chemist at the University of Munich and probably the biggest Bloodlines fan there is. I asked him if 9.5 was the final version a while back and he told me "probably not" so don't be surprised if he keeps making patches well into the 2020's.

As for how bad the game was before the UP, it was a mess. A diamond in the rough as it were. The game is much better today then it used to be. I am honestly not sure what is left to fix but Wesp keeps finding things.

You have to if you are using an older version of the unofficial patch or shit goes weird.

Really? I patched when I played, maybe half a decade ago, 2011, and it still crashed constantly. Usually I can find some kind of fix, but nothing worked longer than ten minutes.

Not Wesp. Just a fan of the game. Bloodlines was one of the first games I played and I still replay it every now and then. The game coming out on GOG and the release of a new version of the UP made me go for another playthrough. I am currently doing a Tremere run. It's pretty fun.

Added two new buildings accessible during that library quest. One is a tobacco shop and the other is a abandoned cafe(or restaurant).

Another part of the Malkavian Maze was restored. And the Tutorial prompts don't look horrible on widescreen monitors anymore. Best part of the whole patch in my opinion.

Not really. Your gender is mentioned a couple of times in conversation but that's it. The only reason to chose female is if you prefer their appearance to that of the male avatars. I just couldn't play a shirtless guy with nipple rings so I went female Malkavian.

A bit. You can seduce more people and most of the female pc are better looking. Also the Malkavian changes the whole dialog, it still the same game with the same story-line but pretty different.

Not in the main story anyway apart from a few references to your character as playful slang terms for a female. Other than that, you can seduce a lot more characters in the game and you can fuck 1 more person in the game than with a male.
