It's fun as fuck and I don't even mind the cutscenes, they're well made, everything is fucking well made. I loved the two first games, the third one is something quite different, but it's still an excellent game that combines both a satisfying gameplay and nice visuals.

seamless in the sense that there are no loading screens, but holy shit does the gameplay get interrupted by pointless cutscene every fucking moment.

Even the multiplayer was great. Just a very solid game all around that didn't get enough buzz, and was overlooked on Sup Forums because it wasn't actual Max Payne 3.

The actual gameplay is fucking GREAT, but goddammit I hate the unskippable cutscenes and cinematic transitions. First time the whole fucking ride rocked but fuck me if it's replay value isn't screwed.

The gameplay is ok, the level design is fucking shit.

I thought the gameplay was meh, but the setting and the music is really really great.

I really disliked the 'arena' level design, where they lock you in an area and flood enemies in until you've defeated a couple of wavves of them. That felt very 'gamey' and tore me out of any immersion.

Never played one before, what makes the gameplay so good? Describe it to me in excruciating detail.

People threw shit at rockstar when MP3 was announced, but I liked it more than MP2 and as much as MP1 or even more. It also has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. I've been listening to HEALTH for long time before the game, but their score made them one of my favourite bands now, Rockstar sure knows how to do their shit. But I never got to play online, and I don't think it was a good idea for this game, but single campaign is good though and it has really great Michael Mann vibe all around it.

I'd love one final Max Payne game. Drop the obnoxious cutscenes, return to New York, leave mechanics as is, they were perfect.
As is, I struggle to call this Max the best one, it certainly has the most satisfying mechanics, but the story and the setting were mediocre compared to MP1 and MP2.

I can't explain why but I sucked so much shit at this game, unlike the 2 previous games.
Probably because I used the dive 90% of the time which resulted me in getting stuck on the floor and smashing the spacebar so I could get up.

Why didn't they keep the same slo-mo dive like in Max Payne 1/2? I just don't understand.

Anyway, I still think it's the worst MP game but that still doesn't mean that it's a bad game.

even on ssd's you're still stuck behind the so called loading. even in the timed game mode it will still play the movies that cant be skipped

Besides bullet time mechanics the change in level never stops moving. The game never stops start to end it's literally excellent tier game design. People complain about it not being Max Payne are liars, it goes back to new york some times giving you the old feel in new graphics, it was never anything that special other than a generic cop shooter with added bullet time, but really they've given it a good update.
