Paper Mario Sticker Star was screwed over by an out of touch dev team (the same people who are now developing Metroid Federation Force). It wasn't Miyamoto's fault.
As for Star Fox Zero. Platinum got its orders to integrate motion controls from the top. Miyamoto got the same order and actually ended up making the better game: Star Fox Guard.
