The OST, artstyle, and puzzles/collectibles in Sticker Star were really good. Literally everything else was pointless or shit.

Bowsers Inside Story is still proclaimed to be the real sequel to Superstar Saga while the other entries are mediocre. I love both franchises but youll be hard pressed to find anybody whos played every M&L compared to people who have played PM64 and TYD.

I think Nintendo is refocusing. Miyamoto's complete failure to turn up anything worthwhile for the gamepad with Star Fox was the last straw. Aonuma's team tried it with Zelda and ultimately just said no, all this does is make the game worse.

Miyamoto is going to be backed away from game development, fresh blood is going to be given more focus and they're going to pay attention to feedback. Or at least I hope that's what this all means. At least there finally is some home.

I'd also add that PM has slower, more strategic battles where as M&L has fast-paced, energetic battles. I have to wonder if people who say they're similar have actually played both series because they sure as hell don't feel it.

Well, that's your problem. All M&L are good (even PiT) and both DT and PJ are better than the very overrated BiS.

Pikman was Miyamoto's real showcase and Aonuma has already successfully done it with Wind Waker. We he said recently was just PR to draw people in for the NX.

The worst part is that if Dream Team was shorter, didnt have forced tutorials and maybe tweaked some mechanics it would be really enjoyable. As of now its just alright.

Miyamoto tried his damndest to get rid of Rosalina, and to have zero backstory in Mario Galaxy (which he achieved in Galaxy 2).

Color Splash is such a stupid decision that even a fan of Sticker Star is pissed.

Played it a few months ago. What few frame drops and graphical bugs can be easily fixed by some settings changes. Perfectly playable.

You're just as bad as people that think Zelda needs to drop Ganon/Ganondorf. Bowser being the antagonist isn't a real issue. The real issue is his identity has been shifted from a conqueror to a silly rival of sorts.

Not him but that's kind of really tall order. It's not like Superstar Saga is a perfect game as well. Every one of them have their strengths and weaknesses. I mean the latest one got rid of mandatory tutorials finally, so that's a huge plus in it's favor. They're all at least above Sticker Star and maybe even SPM for some of them in some degree.

Did you even play the PM games? Literally all of the jokes are character driven. The ONLY paper-related humour is when you find the cursed chests. And even that's done well, mind you.

When Bowser Jr. kept showing up in games, people starting asking for the Koopalings. Now they are annoyed they got their wish.

Does anyone else get a feeling like they know this game is going to flop, and they're aware of the feedback, but it's simply too late to fix it? They have been working on this game, at least allegedly, for about 4 years. I'd imagine it was a side project that they did out of wanting to do it, then when it came crunch time for the NX and nintendo needed something to fill out the wii u schedule, this game got hauled from the archives and shoved out. It just feels like they know what they're saying is bullshit, but it's all they can do at the moment since it's the only wii u game coming out before christmas. It's not an option to delay or cancel it, they have to stick to their guns and say that it's great and it's going to be fun.

And of course they're going to say the aren't going back to their roots, if they said "The next one will be a traditional RPG" everyone would just skip this one. I don't know, I have hope for this series in the future. Maybe I'm fucking retarded, but who knows.

Maybe. Almost definitely the case with Federation Force. They didn't even show that at E3 and it's coming out in August.

Although PM and TTYD are superior to all the M&L except SSS, (and TTYD has SSS beat) the other four games are fantastic. PiT is only shitty compared to the other games in the series; BIS and DT are practically the same game are are both solid 8s or 9s, and even though PJ got its story gutted it had the best combat in the series.

AlphaDream does solid work and only buttblasted Paperdrones dislike the series.

I really disliked the papercraft battles and the horrible toad hunting that was so much of the actual gametime.

This went wrong.

Their biggest mistake was admitting that they started development on this game immediately after finishing Sticker Star.

Instead of waiting to see how fans reacted, seeing criticism of how to improve the gameplay or waiting for sales numbers they jumped right into a sequel that nobody wanted yet.
