What? Why? It's even better than 99.9% of horror movie.

Any horror game that forces you to play some defenseless fool without even a basic sense of combative survival is fucking trash as far as I'm concerned.

PT & Resident EVIL can fuck off with their jump scare walking simulators, tropes like invincible un-killable evils need to fucking die.

Serious question guys.
What is a good horror game to you?
I'am a faggot for these kind of games, I played the RE7 demo and was fucking nervous.

For someone who want to, but just can't
get into this, what game make the horror right?

i see this exact thread with the same img so much. get some oc or get out.

i bet you think dead space was scarier than amnesia

this meme is shit. that random broadcast wasnt even fucking creepy to begin with. more like a cringey attempt from an edgy autist. fuck off with this image already

>I played the RE7 demo and was fucking nervous.

Horror tends to mean slightly different things to different people. RE4 was still mostly a horror game to me, but many would disagree.

Some would say that horror is more atmospheric like the original Silent Hills.

If a horror game is just something that frightens you, then it could be any number of games.
I don't personally think that a game has to induce real terror and have jumpscares to be conisidered horror.

>Hapless victum
>Confined map 1 location
>Single unkillable slasher-style villian
>ATMOSPHERE

>meme
its the first time a live broadcasting system during primetime hours was successfully infiltrated and completely replaced without being in the same building. Learn some fucking history you young cunt.

What is the Cramped Leg Room of video gaming?

>pt and re were shit
>posts max which isnt even horror

shit thread

Amnesia and penumbra needs proper successor. btw Amnesia spawned a lot of youtube gaming/let's play celebrities.

I'am just a fag for these kinda of games. Sue me.

This is the thing. I finished RE4 four times and never feel anxious. SH though...I can't play the original for the PS1.
>I don't personally think that a game has to induce real terror and have jumpscares to be conisidered horror.
I agree 100% with you. I can play RE but can't play Alien Isolation. The fear f having fear is the worst.

>Spooky scripted events that trigger when certain monster is near.
>they start a weird noises, they may end up being warped paintings, lights flickering, poltergeists or something as simple as a chasecam activating.
>monsters are, for the most part, unkillable or unrewarding on death.
>some monsters ars controlled by pcs. You do not know which ones.
>objectives of the game is to survive and escape, but it has several procedurally generated miniquests such as repairing a generator, preparing a medicine, finding a password on a spooky area or solving a puzzle. You name it.
>Some of these proc gen quests have a low chance of triggering aome alternative versions of them in which bad stuff happens. The rewards are still worth it.
>keep jumpscares to the min, but plenty of fun to be had with all sorts of lurkers and stalkers. If the player is caught unaware, a jumpscare will follow because he failed to notice the signs.

Make a sequel to Alien Isolation
