I didn't play VII. After trying the first two Rebirth games I kind of swore off the series. If VII's better like you say I might be interested in it, but after missing like 1.5 games I'll probably be lost. Maybe if I can find it cheap later on. Does it have large maps with tons of paths like OQ or is it similar to the Rebirth games?

the maps are considerably larger than the rest of the series and have multiple paths, it's not just a corridor-like series of interconnected rooms.
don't worry about it working like the Rebirth games since it's not the same company who made this game

the maps are like Rebirth but larger. There are some that have paths.

Also, hardly any re-used maps and that infamous factory level is gone.

skip Rebirth 2 and go to 3. Granted, V-II glosses over anything important from V/Rebirth 3

you won't lose anything, they just drop the references about Arfoire and the Atari CPU at the beginning but stop there, it's a new story (more like 3, VII "divides" itself into a trilogy in a single game, it's weird)

Rebirth 3 is actually the best of the rebirth games. Tho it still rehashes dungeons.

V-II dungeons aren't as big as OQ but they're almost all new/original map. While it does take place after V/Rebirth 3, it doesn't really have any connection to it... except one small detail that only someone who has played both will notice.

I would recommend V-II since they refined it pretty well.

It has a better battle system than Neptune other than costume break being a shit mechanic. You can break the game once you have access to harmonics.

Playing on advanced everything is still easy.It just feels like enemys have alot of health so by the time i get through a couple encounters i have no mp and have to mash the normal attacks till they are all beat,am I doing anything wrong?
