But people still like FE12.

People can have preferences.

Some people prefer the faster engine and like how all the Archanea characters are in it. I like both versions of FE3 for different reasons. Each has their own perks, and that's good.

I dislike a lot of things about FE12 (MU and all new story additions, changes in gameplay mechanics ruin lots of maps, etc) but unlike FE3 it actually has some difficulty on lunatic mode. I've played through FE3 with 0% growths and it was still way too easy, otherwise I'd like it more.

Difficulty was never really the point for me, though. FE8 is hilariously easy, but that never ruined the experience for me.

Yeah, more difficulties is a plus. FE3 has a weird difficulty curve, where it goes from easy to hard to easy and back to hard.

Ced's conversion with Seliph is kind of sad when Ced says he's not the hero people think he is because he couldn't save the children of Manster from the child hunts. I always forget how dark Genealogy is until I pick it up again.

Dew for utility Patty, Holyn for combat Patty and a Faval with an actual Skill stat and absurd HP, Lex for two solid kids who promote early as fuck.
