Face it. There has never been a female character in a 3D Bioware game that looked "average" or better. Even characters who are supposed to look attractive, like Miranda, suffer from potato-face. You could spend an entire day in the character creator and you wouldn't be able to make a pretty-looking woman.

there's something so sickening about this but i can't put my finger on it. ever since it was revealed at E3, when i see this still it's just so repulsive i can't look away. i dont even care about how asari's looked before or how they catered to manchildren in the past. fuck i dont even care about ME. it's just this character design right here is so gross and unappealing to even look at

Wasn't the original mass effect supposed to be kind of a send up of shit like original star trek where aliens were either men in rubber suits/masks and the women were all just humans painted green/blue?

A mass effect species obviously meant to be classic grays would be fun. Maybe give them one or two anatomical quirks so they're not perfectly identical to the trope, kinda like how Asari are obviously just painted humans but they at least have the head tentacles.

First of all the largest offender in the character design are those fucking eyebrows on an alien. Second is the skin texture in general, the asari had skin that looked almost scale-like upclose yet somehow the fucked it up and basically painted a human blue. Add that all up with completely uninteresting face tattoo that is literally a period stain smeared on her face and you have a pretty shitty character design.
