Yeah, except this is absolutely irrelevant because he clearly stated he'd murder babies, dogs, their dads and moms and will kick their puppies too if they stand between him and Yonah. And initially he was ignorant as to what the shades really were and Kaine hated them enough not to tell him.

I love Nier but Papa nier is actually kind of a bad dad what with ditching his kids for long periods of time and pretty much forcing her to raise herself. Also I suppose it doesn't really count but its implied both in dialog and in the source book thing that he strongly suspected that they shades were more then just monsters and that he just enjoyed killing them.

Still made me cry like a bitch though
