So the original 360 started off white with a white controller, and then the redesigned 360 was black with a black controller. Now for the bone they are doing it the opposite way around. Wonder why.

Considering every Sony exclusive has flopped, Uncharted 4 failed as badly as Halo 5, Bloodborne only sold 2 million and they shut down Evolution after Driveclub flopped. Sony would have benefitted from porting games to PC

I think they are. There isn't a lot of overlap between PC users and Console users. They don't lost anything from putting their games on PC, other than being able to say the highly loved buzzword "exclusive".

He made it seem like he'd almost rather have Valve take the reigns for the inner PC ecosystem while Microsoft focuses on the outer ecosystem (Windows 10 functionality). The dude is just a badass.

Sony clearly didn't seem to think 2 million for BB was bad, considering that they subsequently commissioned From for two more collaborations with Japan Studio.

Though honestly I'm a bit worried From are stretching themselves a bit here; they're currently working on DaS 3 DLC, a new multiplat (With VR support), the first of their two Sony collaborations and they heavily implied they were working on a new installment of an old IP (So AC in all likelihood). That's an awful lot of juggling for a studio with about 250 employees.

I am 99% sure that if every exclusive MS released on PC would have stayed on Xbox a lot more consoles would be sold, including shit like Rise of the Tomb Raider with their timed exclusivity, 100% exclusivity gets you sales. It's weird that people act like console wars are over, look at the PS4, it's killing the competition, why is that exactly? Would it be killing if all their games went to PC? I don't think so.

This is fairly on-point; no way in Hell Microsoft would be porting off 90% of their exclusives to W10 if it hadn't became apparent they'd just fallen too far behind the PS4 to fight toe-to-toe any longer.

Honestly, this whole thing makes you wonder how things would be going now had Microsoft not gotten complacent and borderline sabotaged the 360 in the latter days of its lifespan and continued that on to the early days of the Xbone.

Exclusives aren't the reason consoles sell. It might be why they sell between each other Although I doubt it, people are pretty rooted in their favourites companies for multiple generations by now, but even if Xbox released all their exclusives on PC, the only other place to play them, if you don't have a PC is.... You guessed it, the Xbox.
And if Sony released all their exclusives on PC as well, the only other place to get them, other than a PC would be the playstation.

Your average consumer is either too stupid, lazy, or ignorant to get into PC gaming. The vast majority are gifts bought by parents for their kids. Consoles will still continue to sell regardless, and if you think an entire company is going to stop selling consoles because they are now allowing their consoles to exist on PC, then you are mentally gimped.

Microsoft knows what they are doing. They are a much bigger, and more successful company than Sony. They didn't become that way be being morons.

The PS4 is winning because it launched cheaper and the Xbone had a horrible launch with required kinect and always online and all that. The exclusive sales on PS4 don't come close to total PS4 units sold.

no, that's why the Xbox One got shit on for years because the PS4 was more powerful, smaller, and had an internal power supply on top of it all.

It's kind of amazing how the original Xbox One could be so big but I think it's because MS intended for it to silently run 24/7 thanks to the HDMI passthrough.

Original 360 was designed by an architect, then given to the engineers who were told "Make it work".

Launch XB1 was designed solely by the engineers.

XB1 S was co-designed by designers + engineers together.

I haven't heard this but honestly the feature is kind of worthless anyway. The passthrough degrades video quality and it has horrible judder with 1080i content. Also lags when you use snap.
