too much autism in one game

No translation.

Does it even elaborate on anything from the anime?

I tried watching that anime when I was younger. It was a piece of over pretentious bullshit. You can have a deep story, without being a gigantic autist like this, Donny Darko, requiem for a dream. Just a bunch of garbage where the creator tried to wave his dick around and show how "smart and deep" he is.

I'm waiting for someone to put in the translation. Reading the pdf seems like a chore.

I JUST DONT UNDERSTAND IT

how find

This senpai

AND YOU DON'T SEEM TO UNDERSTAND

Do I look like a weeb to you?

I don't speak nip

I'm playing it right now

I did and althought the user interface is painfully slow I loved it. I identified quite a bit with this Lain's fears and insecurities so I rapidly got emotionally invested in the game. By the end of the game I was on the edge of my seat.
I'm kind of obsessed with Lain since I played it.

Not really. There's some presence of the Wired but the story is an alternate timeline.

It's a PDF, though, so you would have to play the game with the PDF by the side to search for the translation of each audio file.

>when I was younger
How about watching stuff intended for your age then?

>Donny Darko, requiem for a dream
Except none of those even relate. Especially not the latter, which is easy to understand from just watching once.

If you can't understand it, then that's on you. Don't blame the creators.

Seems like too much work for what is by most reports a bad game

I'm not going to lie, as a game it doesn't have that much to offer. It's a database with audio files with different sources (lain's diary, psyquiatrist's diary, counseling sessions and some others) and some videos. There are some other things, like keys that unlock new files, but they are just a bunch of entries in the database.
As an unlabeled piece of media it's amazing. The atmosphere and the sense of mistery that its format creates is great and the story is both intriguing and emotive and the two main characters (Lain and the psychiatrist) are deep characters that you slowly get to know as a main part of the narrative.
Basically: not really a good as a game since it lacks gameplay but a great piece of narrative media.

yeah

Lain is certainly obtuse, but it hardly tries to come off as being more important than it is. It's art for art's sake, with an overall message concerning technology that's even more relevant today.

Then why was it a game in the first place?

because of how human taxonomies work

Basically this: IIRC the producer itself didn't call it a game but something along the lines of "a psyquedelic virtual expericence". But it came out por PS1 so it's going to be automatically labeled as a game by everyone else.

Lain is a very straight forward show, user.

>art for art's sake
So like NaissanceE?

>Why didn't you play Lain's game yet?
And you don't seem to understand
