It's out, and it's even worse than I thought.

Padding the DLC Count 2: Settlement Boogaloo
Come, user. Share with us the extent of its failure.
What's bad about it?
They better not have lied about making more DLC throughout this year and the next, because if they did I'm writing a stern letter.
> oh no you kill a three to write suck a massive cock to the devs.
Will ya be drawing dicks too?
So it's mostly conveyor belts but the main highlight was supposed to be the production stations, at least I'd imagine; anyway, you can craft ammo, food, and even weapons of every type, but the materials required outweigh what you get, so it would be a better idea to just find/buy what you want out in the wasteland.
They raise the season pass price, and this is what they put out?
lol
Ammo seems useful for stuff not plentiful with vendors, like .44 or gamma rounds
That actually sounds nice, At some point I had far too many materials of all types and I wanted to produce weapons/armors for all my settlements(I think theres 20ish?) and all 20 of my settlers in EACH settlement.
I like having a uniform and weapon for each settlement but I dont want to go hunt down 20 double barrel shotguns and 20 pieces of armor for Hangman's Alley.
do you not have foresight? its this, the "make your own vault" dlc and the Nuka Cola World.
If the Nuka cola world DLC is as big as Far Harbor than the increase in price seems acceptable. I managed to get the cheaper season pass a few days before the increase anyway
No, but there will be frowny faces; a whopping THREE to be exact.
I'd rather have settlement dlc than garbage like Operation Anchorage which turned the game into Medal of Honor.
>Fallout New Vegas gets small expansions with new areas
>Fallout 4 gets a bunch of extra shit to build
Do developers ever take notice of negative scores like this?
You'll break poor Todd's heart.
There are mods that do this shit but better, I don't understand why Bethesda thought selling this would be a good idea.
On PS4 it's 4.5 stars outta 5
You can do ammo crafting with mods so i don't know why they bothered
Except for the fact the DLC is far more extensive and polished.
That vault dlc on nexus is a piece of broken shit. The dlc looks way more in depth
They only notice things like this
Well they could at least have released this shit for free as seeing it's not much different from a mod.
Keep in mind that console players pretty much take whatever they can get
>mods
Doesnt make gamma rounds.
A d let's say ypou have enough lead for the .44, say a coup!e of hundred. Seems a small enough for fucking factory to make, right?
The time you will spend physically waiting in real time, you could easily just wait 36 hours for vendors to restock SEVERAL FUCKING TIMES OVER
These automated builders are literally slower than if you the player just had access to a crafting bench that could make the items.
Why should a professional company care about mods? Youd have to be a total cuck to just stop doing what you want because someone made a similar mod already.
Sonyggers barely give anything lower than a 4 when they bother to rate.
Far Harbor was probably the least fun I had playing a game so far this year, I really don't know why I forced myself to finish it. The environment was especially awful and I kept using the bat ccclear to get rid of the ugly.
New vegas got new vouces. Weapons. Quests. Reward on the end of the quest.
The casiono one. The dispancers.
The caravan one. Coffy and weapons and a uniqe untouched terrain.
The crazy sientists. You got stats weapons a home with all the crap you need.
Lone some road. Ede upgrades. Mre's weapons. You can nuke shit.
That's not to mention shit like the conduits.
Pointless. Why waste resources on making power cables that are in a metal tube? For a fucktonne less you get a fucktonne more distance on the wires. By the time you get to turrets or any item that can actually be wired, you still need to use a wire. So the neatness you may perceive is offset by costing more resources for no benefit. Even the new "power showers" don't do anythuianythuing that vanilla components couldn't.
The only two things of any worth are light up posters and signs. But neither one of those is worth more than a few pence / cents / rupees. This whole dlc is a massive waste of time that brings nothing of value to the game.
>not plentiful with vendors
dude, if you have a settlement you can just make settlers into vendors, never need to go looking for ammo ever again.
Not only does it not make gamma rounds, it fdoesnt make fusion cores, it doesn't mike microfusion cells, it doesn't make Nuka Grenades.
All the rare as fuck things you want that would actually make sense in the high resource to low returns scenario are denied.
Oh but its OK YOU CAN MAKE FUCKING TUBES THAT DROP BALLS AND PIT PEOPLE IN STOCKS LITERAL SECONDS OF FUN!!
Fucking Skyrim Hearthfire was better than this shit. FUCKING HEARTHFIRE.
>physics based contraptions in a game with broken physics
And now having downloaded it an hour ago, all three achievements.
Yup, the way it deals with producing items is that it creates as many items as it possibly can based on the amount of resources you put in.just not in real time. It creates them all then drops them one by one onto the conveyor. The more you place in the builders, the lobpnger it takes to process. So if you thought for one second that ypou could manufacture things quickly and end masse usi g all ypour resources, dream on. The fallout factories are as this user says, far slower than just a player hammering a button.
this. i dont get it.
The mod versions will be crafting stations. They will be quicker than the builders.
>he bought the season pass
>he bought fallout 4
Nuka World is the last DLC, out in two months.
Nothing next year.
I'm tempted to mail them my pip boy edition, except filled with shit.
Nigga are you for real? One story DLC and that is it!?
Automatron and Far Harbour were also Story DLC.
So 3 story, 3 workshops.
Nuka World will be way smaller than far harbour.
I wish I was shitting you.
I told every friend that did this season pass not to because you never fucking know what it's going to amount too. Boy was I ever right in hindsight.
The ones who bought early still got a discount on the RRP, the issue is that the DLC varies so much in quality. Ranging from expansive yet mediocre to Today's fresh shitheap.
Thats a clean burning hell, I tell ya hwat.
Fallout 4 was a mistake
Automatron is a story DLC with a 10 minute quest with another repeatable quest like defending a settlement? Wow, stories sure don't need much story anymore.
It's a gamble, why take it? All it would take is one shit DLC to basically not make the season pass really worth it. Which is my whole point.
>10 Minutes
That's a MILD exagerration, unless you play on retarded toddler difficulty.
I never claimed it was a good or expansive story. But at least it HAS a story, a new settlement AND new workshop items infinitely more useful and fun than Craptions.
It's a gamble, why not take it? All it would take is one superb bit of DLC to make it a bargain.
But sure, hindsight is 20/20
Hmm. I guess I shouldn't have expected much for $20 of season pass.
However, Todd said that the team would NOT be working on any new DLC after Nuka. So this is the end of Fallout. Now Modders must take over.
>Warehouses are recoloured barns
>Paid DLC
Wasn't Witcher 3 Pass $20?
Okay Bethesda you don't understand.
When people complained that the world of Fallout 3 made no sense and after 200 years there's still no agriculture or industry, they didn't mean they wanted the gameplay to include building farms and factories.
>All it would take is one superb bit of DLC to make it a bargain.
Nope, you could just buy that DLC by itself without the risk
Hmmmm. You got me there.
that's okay. i'm a consolecuck, so i can just dupe 1000s of resources. free ammo.
that's if i bother to buy this dlc and go back to the game. i think the money would be better off going into my build a pc fund.
>available on torrents since june 16
If the factories could build quickly and efficiently and the crops didn't hover, if settlements didn't have spawn points inside the build area and if places with 900 defence didn't STILL call me for help, it'd be tolerable.
Can't say i agree at all. I very much like all the stuff that has come out thus far. And i am quite hyped for the nuka world DLC! People here hate just to hate, rather than actually playing the game themselves and finding out stuff. Tired of the hivemind
>they increased the season pass price because "we have increased the amount of DLC we plan to release"
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Yeah. Granted, Witcher did a lot DLC and is still selling quite well because of it.
Yeah, we should be happy we get this much DLC for that low price. Originally only the robot DLC and far harbor was planned! Ungrateful fuck, you expect everything for free. Things cost money
I didn't buy the pass, I bought each seperate bundled with Gwent Decks. A far better prospect than these shit FO4 DLCs.
>Only FH and Autobot was planned
Y'know I bet some folk believe this.
It is true indeed my friend. What that user says is absolutely correct. Don't expect a million DLCs that are hard to make and cost a lot of money for a small price season pass. There is too much content already almost
Witcher 3 did it BETTER
What the fuck did you just say?
WITCHER 3
DID IT
BETTER
The truth.
I hope the real Todd sees that.
WHAT. THE. FUCK. DID. YOU. JUST . SAY
TAKE IT BACK RIGHT NOW. TAKE IT BACK
TAKE IT BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK
Well outside of Survival mode there really isn't much going on in settlements.
but to use settlements to their fullest potential you need local leader perk.
but in survival mode you don't want to use points on "useless perks"
i feel like it's a good idea to make Settlements more useful in normal playthroughs, but i think blizzard isn't quite doing it yet.
i still have your shit game for free on my xbox todd
im playing the dlc and shit for FREE
How did they drop the ball with season pass so badly? I mean, that's one thing they got right with Fallout 3 - its DLC.
YOU WILL APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW AND BUY THE GAME HE AND HIS FRIENDS WORKED VERY HARD FOR.
APOLOGIZE
i meant bethesda, not blizzard. they aren't adding useful shit to settlements.
they should just add the ability to put taxes on settlers, and they are more willing to pay higher taxes if they are kept happy. and suddenly, settlements are useful.
i would, but no internet until i beat your game
that was the promise i made TODD
>The Ending They Removed
>VR Shit
>Swamp
>Mothership Snooze
1/4
YOU ARE ON THE INTERNET RIGHT NOW SO HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE INTERNET TO APOLOGIZE AND BUY THE GAME ON? I AM A POLICE OFFICER AND I WILL TAKE YOU TO JAIL
>Nuka World is the last DLC, out in two months
Source?
On it being the last DLC.
I haven't heard anything about that.
Huh.
According to steam reviews the weapon racks are totally broken. Dupe guns, stripped mods, stripped legendary effects. Wow.
Hines the Reader said it in an interview.
In an interview with Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb he said it was going to be the last DLC.
I'm just waiting for the Vault Workshop so I can edit settler appearances and make everyone aryan ubermenschen.

Honestly thought this was just a joke image when I saw it on Sup Forums last week.
What fuck brained idiot came up with the idea of doing a DLC that relies on physic gimmicks like this in fucking Bethesda's engine.
Honestly I don't see the problem with this little DLC. It's clearly geared to console users and people in general who can't into mods. They used time and resources? Yeah, but I wouldn't be surprised if this was made by two guys, one scripting and the other for the few new models included, and the bare minimum beta-testing required. At least is not as insulting as Oblivion's DLC that was clearly cut from the game during development.
>it's true
WHAT THE FUCK
There was a time Bethesda were industry leaders in regards to DLC quality, even Skyrim had decent story expansions, but this is a fucking joke.
Far Harbor was the drizzling shits, and Nuka World doesn't get me that excited either.
They even had the balls to up the price of the season pass - FOR 2 (TWO) STORY DLCS!
First Rockstar, now Bethesda.
Can't wait 'til From shit out the Undead Settlement Workshop and call it a day. Maybe CDPR will shit the bed with 2077 too.
>Shitty settlement stuff that no one asked for in the base game, and no one asked for as DLC
>1 moderately sized expansion with new equipment and weapons
>1 more expansion that's size is yet to be known
VS.
>1 DLC expanding weapon variety, the amount of unique weapons available, and weapon mods
>3 bogus preorder packages, which are probably the most unreasonable of the bunch
>4 moderately sized dlcs, with new weapons and equipment, with 3 out of the 4 dlcs tying together to form an overarching narrative
Different strokes for different folks I suppose, but I prefer Fallout NV's style of doing things. Hell, even Fallout 3 had a better dlc model than 4.
>Honestly I don't see the problem with this little DLC.
The problem is they keep shitting out DLC with settlement parts without actually fucking fixing the settlement building.
The new scaffolding parts don't even snap to floor pieces, they're more broken than shit that kids put on nexusmods for free.
>Elevators don't conform to floor sizes
>Factories less efficient than workbenches
>Items fall through conveyors
>warehouses are reskinned barns
>the cost in resources is higher than your output in items
>Gun racks utterly broken
You could read the thread for more
>At least is not as insulting as Oblivion's DLC that was clearly cut from the game during development
Are you talking about Knights of the Nine or the Shivering Isles?
Either way, both were top caliber. I don't know why you'd think they were cut content.
Probably the orrery/horse armour/all those player homes
Even the DLC in this game are a letdown, Jesus Christ.
Which is a shame. I haven't played Far Harbor so I couldn't comment on that, but Automatron managed to be entertaining by the end with the old General Atomics facility you had to explore.
Post-Horse Armor Bethesda used to have the best DLC content model in the market in my opinion, and even that was scrapped for Fallout 4. Was there ANYTHING this game didn't mess up?
Same. All the F4 DLC seems like non-content to me.
>buy season pass because it was going up in price
>still feel like I was robbed
My first and last time I buy a season pass or any bethesda game dlc for that matter.
Fallout 4's dlc feels like an afterthought to me, while NV's was planned out from the beginning if interviews with Obsidian are to be believed.
The three workshop mods combined aren't worth the price of one.
>any bethesda game dlc for that matter
Horse armour and player homes aside, Bethesda used to be great at DLC.
FO4 in general just shows how far they've fallen.
Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas mostly share the same model, side areas with new equipment and quests that you get to keep after you're done with their stories. And the occasional player home thrown in as well, like the SInk.
It's a great model, and while Automatron clearly focused on the whole robot building thing [although stupidly they tied what parts you could build to the scavenging robots in the map, which I hate], they also added a "player home".... which is literally an empty, poorly lit warehouse.
youtube.com
"Who is laughing now? You dork."
>player homes
I still remember Oblivion's Frostcrag Spire, it was worth its asking price simply for the fact that there was a mod for it [Frostcrag Reborn, I believe] that rebuilt the entire thing from the ground up as a vast wizard tower full of extra features sitting on top of an incredibly expansive dungeon that had amazing visuals and aesthetics for the standards of the engine. Probably one of my favorite mods of all time.
Far Harbour is shit.
Think FO3's Swamp DLC, with none of the charm and a palette of grey, dark white and light black.
It's big, yet empty.
None of it is memorable.
It even has a shit tier version of the punga fruit vision quest.
So they can't possibly fuck up the new TES more than they did FO4 right.
I don't think its actually possible. FO4 will be instantly forgotten forever as soon as the DLC is done, what a gigantic disappointment.
