>turns out the guy with the gas and the guy who betrayed us were in cahoots and planning on stealing it for themselves the entire time
Three years later and nothing even remotely that interesting has happened in DayZ. Standalone hasn't even caught up to the amount of content the mod had.

Sadly I can't even remember how it escalated so much. It's a pretty shit story desu, but at that time I was a somewhat edgy kid and I was fascinated by it. Also consider that W:ET doesn't have an in-game voice chat, so it was all angry typing.
