HOLD UP
YOU CAN GRAB THE SHELL?
Is that TickTockClock bountry still unclaimed?
I spent close to 20 hours trying that fucker but it wouldn't do.
...
I don't think that will ever be claimed desu
What did you think it was for.
i hope he finds some way to take advantage of the ttc pendulum angular displacement + pedro spot, his last videos were upsetting
haha meme about some 14 year old who is actually loving being a meme
PRESSED A TO START THE GAME, DOESN'T COUNT
I thought it was a cruel joke
>shill
>SHILL
what is he shilling here? SM64?
His videos
meme youtube videos aren't shilled here, this is what neo/v/ likes naturally
sorry granpa your too old for this site
(((What is this)))
These videos are the opposite of memes. They're indepth exploration of game mechanics. They're literally the most vidya that vidya can be.
coincidence detector. lurk Sup Forums for a bit
This. Pannenkoek2012 is the hero that Sup Forums needs. He sincerely enjoys a video game and all of its mechanics - with neither irony nor shitposting.
No wonder Sup Forums hates him
neo-nazi thing
>you will never have pannenkeok2012 teach you calculus
When will he start doing commentaries again?
THE ABSOLUTE MADMAN
I feel like his commentary videos are rare in general; it's not like he stopped. If you look at his video history, he only releases about 2 commentated videos per year (on average). I'm sure that when he compiles something significant, we will get another one.
Pretty much a non-greentext variation of >Goldberg to point out Jews.
I have no idea what I'm watching. Please explain.
he got onto the ship without pressing A
an A press is an A press. you can't press it 0.5x. it doesn't make sense.
...
t. TJ """""""""""Henry"""""""""""" Yoshi
...
Hey buddy I think you got the Half A-Press wrong, the jamboree is two PU down.
...
AN A PRESS IS AN A PRESS
...
Echo signal to point out when someone with a Jewish last name says something so that they can be bullied and/or disregarded.
No it's not TJ "Henry" Yoshi, maybe you and I should settle it right here on this QPU if you think you're so tough.
is this an snl skit or something

I have never understood these threads, explain
it's better
...
for the uninformed
youtube.com
Pannenkoek2012 goes into heavy detail about the game mechanics in SM64. This includes manipulating enemy AI, overflowing position variables to create "parallel worlds," and using insane amounts of speed and precise angles to properly navigate these "parallel worlds." The best part is that he can explain it in terms that even morons can understand

>guy wants to beat Super Mario 64 with as few jumps as possible
>makes a 25 minute video explaining how he gets through a certain level without ever jumping, namely the logistics behind Mario walking into a wall building up momentum for 12 hours straight and launching into alternate universes
>in the context of an entire game run, presses and holds A before entering the level and never releases it until after he's already left the level, so he dubs it a "half A press" run of the level
>some people, including one TJ "Henry" Yoshi, take issue with the term "half A press"
and I thought speedrunning was autistic
>""""Henry"""" always swoops into these threads to spout anti-intellectualism
Some dude beat a SM64 level with as little A presses as possible, with the most ridiculous means possible.
>guy puts out new video about trying to beat mario 64 with as few A presses as possible, using some silly terms to make it easy to understand for idiots
>newfags realize this is their time to shine and start forcing it as a meme and spam threads for almost a week straight
That's it, really.
What does this has to do with speedrunning?
I recognize this. Voynich Manuscript?
Fuck you, I'm not a newfag, and I think QPU-posting has been the best thing Sup Forums has seen for years.
>It is likely that a proof of the above conjecture requires significant advances in higher Mario theory
>higher Mario theory
this isn't autism, mate. this is what happens when a professional in the field takes up a hobby and applies his skill-set to it. it's the chemo that is saving Sup Forums
even better: gay wrestling porn
Pannenkoek2012 and his channel are just another byproduct of the conjunction.
Berenstein bears, Selena murder, etc.
the what?
Except this is basically speedrunning just with a stupidly arbitrary category. If he found a method that got him the same amount of A presses but took less time, he'd use that.
Then again, all the categories are arbitrary
...
>guy wants to beat Super Mario 64 with as few jumps as possible
But why?
>build up speed for 12 hours
>speedrunning
Why not you slack jawed cunt? That's a stupid question.
Why don't you stop breathing?
>guy wants to beat Super Mario 64 as fast as possible
But why?
advanced autism
>guy wants to beat Super Mario 64
But why?
Research purposes.
It's a self-imposed challenge for his own enjoyment.
That takes me back. I have a memory of doing this once back when the game was new, and then I spent literal days trying to prove to my friend that I did it and I didn't succeed in replicating it.
It's just the way speedrunning has evolved where different categories that don't even focus on the speed aspect have become popular, people like seeing how much they can break the game. This guy in particular is fascinated with Super Mario 64's mechanics which do some pretty complicated things to accomplish simple ones.
he made an entire video about how the RNG required to replicate that effect is so fucking unlikely that it will never be reliable in a minimal A-press run for as long as humans exist
>tfw it's been since January, and there have not yet been any significant advances in higher Mario theory, nor have any attempts been made at proving that conjecture
...
docs.google.com
>Finally, I’d like to answer a question that I’ve been getting since the beginning, which is: Why? Why play the game with limited functionality? What’s the point of executing these complicated techniques when a simple A press would accomplish the same thing? Well, the answer is because it’s fun and interesting!
There's your answer.
>"""""""""""
I don't get it
you have to time your forward presses with the frames to climb certain slopes. you'd be surprised at the shit you can climb with it.
>Dedicating time to a hobby is now autism
>Anything that requires dedication or is even remotely complex is autism
>Calling a fucking youtube video "shilling"
ANOTHER A PRESS REJECTED
it's not like humans have any better purpose in life
Most of Sup Forums is untalented so if anyone shows talent or dedication they consider it autism
Some form of transcended autism I'd say.
shit thread
but hey, look at this 6
>dedicating whole days searching a way to beat a game old as fuck without pressing A button to achieve nothing
>not autism
great
Just a hobby. The guy is math professor at a university so he's not just sat at home doing mario shit all day.
>human on the internet having fun with a videogame
>WE MUST STOP THIS!!!
And this is why the video got so damn popular in the first place, because the entire comment section of the videos got flooded with "lol y u just play it the normal way?"
but hey, gotta focus on which bathroom i should use
>dedicating whole days familiarize yourself with the experience and skill of kicking a ball
>not autism
>dedicating whole days to playing music
>dedicating whole days to reading books
>dedicating whole days to playing sports
>dedicating whole days to watching movies
>dedicating whole days to playing vidya
>dedicating whole days to [hobby]
>autistic
Thanks for proving my points, underage
Yes, comparing somebody trying to achieve mastery of a sport and an idiot emulating super mario 64 so he can beat it without pressing the A button is totally the same.
>0202
>dedicating time to play [video game] to achieve nothing (tangible)
>not autism
It's called having fun.
>implying any hobby involves tangible achievement
Might as well work 24/7 if that's how you look at it
>The guy is math professor at a university
Stop this already
>Sup Forums in charge of analogies
kys my man
