Has anyone on Sup Forums played it?
For those who don't know, it's a pure survival game - you are stuck in the Canadian frozen wasteland and have to manage your status (hunger/thirst/energy/warmth) in order to survive. You have to be careful with managing the resources you find.
It's still in alpha and early access, but you can download an older version from TPB and try it out.
The Long Dark
It's shit
It's a good concept but there's no incentive to play it past an hour. There's no ulterior motive; you just move from shelter to shelter and survive pretty much. The environment all look the same
I liked it, and I played a lot of it but it really needs a lot more content to feel complete
I don't mean like 'add ak47 + tactical vest plx valve' I just mean more regions, more unique buildings like the whaling factory or the dam, more stuff that's an incentive to go outside and explore instead of hitting the wall where all you can do is min/max hibernate
Long Dark, you say?
I played it during xmas and it was comfy as fuck. I don't want to play it during summer.
The Forest is better
how is this a different than real life?
Pretty much sames as what everyone says, there not much else to do but the mechanichs are good, I like those tense moments in the first days of scavenging when you are being followed by wolves just praying the next cabin got some fucking canned peaches
They need to put more tense situations and somethign to do after a set amount of time, for example event that occur after some time has passes, say a plane crashes or certain rabid animal is loose and you have to go kill him before he kills all the deer around, or something like that
It's fun until you decide to empty 2 mags into a bear and it magically survives and fucks you up to 2% hp with lots of bleeding so that you die within 4 seconds while trying to bandage yourself.
I want to like it, but the game is retarded and has no goal at all. I'd rather play The forest which is maximum comfy compared to this shitstain.
This
Played the free hour on xbox one, the world is bland and empty and really isn't any incentive to play
fuckng casuals itt who haven't had the experience of being fully immersed in this game
>alpha and early access
>survival game
whoa so cool and original totally gonna buy it
All achievements, 200 days survived on Stalker, have completed bear and plane challenge as well.
I love the game and completely feel it was worth the purchase. You have to have a certain mindset to enjoy it though, or you're wasting your money. I also think the game is best played with long spaces between playthroughs (like starting a new game every couple of months or so)
The hunger and thirst system is broken as fuck. I spend all day inside not doing anything and I'm starving to death like 8 hours later
>I want to like it
>shitstain
>comfy
This is the face of autism everybody everything is either shit or a buzzword
shit sucks
too many wolves
> have to manage your status (hunger/thirst/energy/warmth) in order to survive
>It's still in alpha and early access but it's so good trust me
where have I seen this before
Wow an early access survival game, I'll add it to the pile of shit games that'll never get finished.
yeah it's pretty ridiculous, the only thing that keeps me from truly enjoying the game
>waaah somebody doesn't like what I like
>AUTIST! AUTIST!!!
I feel sorry for you because you simply cannot accept that someone has a different opinion than you.
I guess the main diffrence is that The Long Dark is a singleplayer game. They have no pretense about multiplayer or anything like that. Another diffrence is that it's being developed by an experienced team of people rather than first time devs or just former modders.
A calorie deficit is not the same as entering starve mode, but it definitely needs balancing.
The devs' roadmap looks fantastic. Easily one of the comfiest games I've ever played.
Agreed
