Because she looks worse on the box art than she does in-game, so this gives waifu shits a reason to shit on the game.
This kills all discussion, etc.

Parker Scott
I know there's a lot of waifufags on here, but I find that hard to believe that's the reason.
Jose Russell
Porn when ? I have her in wallpaper but it's not enough
Zachary Campbell
I'm a huge fan of the original and I do like this game a lot, but if you believe you can have a sensible discussion about an EA game here you're a lunatic. Especially with that rumor of Anita assisting in writing/development (which she fucking didn't, she just had a presentation which is literally what she does as a career), you can't even mention this game without everyone shouting SJW GAME UNGA BUNGA FAITH SMASH
Characters are a bit paper thin and the storytelling/amount of missions is lackluster sadly. But I love the gameplay, they basically improved on the original.
Open world works well for this game, contrary to popular belief. All the people who complain about it haven't actually played the game and don't know that story missions are almost entirely occupied in closed spaces where level design is linear and made for the story, just like the first game. It's not Assassin's Creed.
The open world part is just a distraction to extend replayability and longevity. It's what the series needed because I was so fucking sick of replaying the same areas over and over in my 113 hours in the original. I just wanted more room to run and more things to do and that's what this game gave me.
Brody Walker
>Especially with that rumor of Anita assisting in writing/development (which she fucking didn't, she just had a presentation which is literally what she does as a career) Holy shit, I just now remembered that even happening. Wasn't that years ago? I don't see a single trace of any of that in the game whatsoever, as if it never happened.
Austin Hernandez
Because it didn't happen. It was just a conference she held to the employees to talk about girls in games or some shit. She's a public speaker, and she does this as a job. But as soon as she did something with DICE, people knew MEC was in development so they put the 2 together and assumed she was part of development. She never was and even EA stepped in and said "what are you fucks talking about" after someone started a petition that was almost filled.
Ruined the artsyle, fuck this Neo Chic Futurist bullshit
Joseph Long
Unlocking abilities isn't fun. By trying to be open world they ended up just as linear. The first game didn't sell well but was still loved by its fans was because despite its linearity every skill was available from the start adding your own creativity is what made the move set more impressive in traversing the world. Adding a grappling hook literally is a device that steals away from that, making you unlock the dodge roll literally steals away from it.
The story good or bad would in some way always be kind of irrelevant because if the gameplay doesn't live up to it then who cares.
When dice decided to listen to Anita and make the game easier they took away the challenge that made the game fun to begin with.
The few things this game did better was add better cutscenes and remove guns which they kind of also ruined by shoehorning more combat to just hinder people.
Also just a general fuck you to EA for locking my account for apparently cheating in Fifa when I don't own it and don't even like soccer
Evan Brown
No one talks about it because no one talks about.
Brayden Thomas
Eh, I don't think the unlocking system really changes much. It's cool to have it all up front at your disposal so you have to learn what you're capable of on your own, but at the same time, I'm sure most people learned about an ability they had once the story forced them to, which is more or less what this game does.
Also, it makes more sense for this game. It made sense in the first game to do it that way because it was a short, completely linear experience. It was definitely intended to be replayed. This one, not so much. You're meant to play story missions and do side content in between, and lengthen your playtime through the first playthrough, not multiple. It's just a different way to do it, but I think it's more fun with open world enabled, so I like this a bit more.
Christian Rogers
Cause it's boring, user.
There are more interesting games out there.
Jeremiah Johnson
>core gameplay is intact from first game Kek wrong >open world was a good addition, doesn't hurt the experience False >graphics are still stunning No. >faith is smoking hot Not on the cover
John Watson
The story is shit, the characters are annoying, and the gameplay is mediocre thanks to the crutch of the grappling hook. I'd be fine if it was just swinging, but having it lock off entire areas AND be used as a quickboost to normally-unreachable heights (which is especially egregious towards the end of the game) is retarded.
Thomas Diaz
It' pretty fucking shit
The open world sucks, the combat sucks and has too much of a focus applied to it, while the art style has been ruined
Isaiah Wilson
>and the gameplay is mediocre thanks to the crutch of the grappling hook You're exaggerating the effect of the hook on the game. Every mechanic and ability from the first game is still in it, and constantly used everywhere. The grappling hook overall is not that significant.
>but having it lock off entire areas [...] is retarded. Why?
Aiden Rogers
>I don't think the unlocking system really changes much >it's more fun with open world enabled
you're fucking retarded
Jaxson Gray
It's a parkour game, the fun is in doing runs / deliveries / time trial minigames, it's one of the best types of games to be set up in the modern open world style.
Hunter Wright
No it's not, because an open world means that you take away from the tight level design that is essential for the game to play smoothly.
That's why the grappling hook had to be introduced. I doubt it was intended because it sucks fucking ass, but they were forced to use it just to make the open world work.
Hudson Bell
denuvo Sup Forums is mostly pc players most pc players arent dumb enough to buy an EA game before trying it (pirating it) So few people here have played it
Brandon Sanchez
>core gameplay is intact from first game It isn't. It's dumbed down and the game forces you to gain levels to get back to Faith's basic abilities from the first.
>has the perfect amount of content, doesn't overstay its welcome Overstays it's welcome.
>open world was a good addition, doesn't hurt the experience Hurts the experience by having you do dozens of very samey racing levels. Same issue that plagued Burnout Paradise when it went to open world.
>graphics are still stunning Graphics are actually worse. Uglier color palette and blurs are on everything.
>story is fine for what it is Story is shit with shit characters.
>faith is smoking hot She looks better than she did in the first. That's for sure.
>fucking no one talks about it Because the game is a huge disappointment that everyone should have expected. A sequel should have come out shortly after the first release. EA is very different now.
Julian Ortiz
It's not available on any of the marketplaces I use, and they're using Denuvo so I can't even pirate it. It's like they don't even want people to play their game.
Colton Walker
WHERE IS THE FAITH MODEL FOR SFM REEEEEEEEEEEE
Austin Young
>>open world was a good addition, doesn't hurt the experience You have no idea how wrong you are. youtube.com/watch?v=gg0Nbfzo_00
Evan Scott
I'm not him, but did you not even read my post? The gameplay IS linear and tight in the story. It plays extremely smoothly and you would've known that if you played the free beta. The open world is there to serve as extra content and it works completely fine without it, half the time I even forget I have it. It serves as a shortcut, to maybe leap up to a higher area or jump across some far apart buildings. It does unlock more access to the open world, yes, but it's simply nothing more than a transition. Would you rather have them greyed out that part of the world and a big wall that says PLAY MORE OF THE STORY TO UNLOCK, or something that actually makes sense realisitically and fits within the story?
Evan Perry
that doesn't change the fact that the ""extra content"" sucks fucking ass
Bentley Flores
Except story missions often take place in specific areas, not the open world parts of the game. So nothing was lost in the process of adding open world, only something gained.
Evan Edwards
No, they had to spend money developing the open world that could have gone to the story levels instead
Xavier Kelly
>graphics are still stunning Are we playing the same game?
Leo Turner
did they fire all their level artists?
this looks nothing like the original
Cooper Reyes
In what way? Lots of white, occasional colour, and tightly condensed buildings.
Jeremiah Myers
Looks like it's on low. My game doesn't look like that.
Hunter Baker
It alternates great looking places and awful last gen graphics with awful art direction
Carter Ross
>playing on low
Lucas Watson
compare the two images and get back to me
Tyler Baker
It's ultra with textures on low because of spaghetti coding This is how it is with ultra textures
Jonathan Rogers
Is this an example of a nice area? It looks like literal poo

nice rebuttal
Isaac Scott
BS, I play on Ultra and it looks way better than that. Something's up with your game, or you're lying.
Jace Miller
I liked ME1 because it felt like we existed outside of the order of the city.
You lose that feeling the moment Catalyst starts.
Jayden Baker
not as autistic as
Jonathan Flores
what was it before?
Robert Russell
nobody bought it the first time.
why would anyone buy this one?
Camden Rogers
The first game had a decent cult following.
Connor Russell
Overpriced on origins and not available on steam.

Logan Harris
>has the perfect amount of content, doesn't overstay its welcome
Is this the new excuse for short as fuck tech demo with no content?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH
Levi Wilson
Anyone have GOOD Cataylst wallpapers?
Levi Williams
I really liked the original, it was short and sweet and I replayed it many times.
I am super skeptical about this one though. Making it open world instead of tightly designed levels like the original sounds like a disaster and I have heard that once you get upgrades it takes away a lot of challenge.
If it didn't have fucking Denuvo, I would try it out but I'm not about to drop like 80 dollary doos on a game I might hate and sour my opinion of the first game.
Levi Nelson
The first game wasn't that great. it was different from what we had, but not memorable in any way. Of course the second wouldn't sell better than the first, the first wasn't that great. Ergo, very few people played this one and so, very few people will want to comment about it.
Wyatt Wright
that's what it was before lol
Alexander Cooper
Exactly on point. As a fan of the first, spending money on this and saying we're okay with it is a mistake.
Gabriel King
Well put, user. It's a massive let down, and also pretty much means we'll never get a real follow up to the first game.
Dylan Roberts
Origin and Denuvo
Do I have to say more?
Ryan Roberts
This one still has tightly designed linear levels which are cordoned off from the open world. Almost every main story mission takes place in its own area that's normally inaccessible.
Upgrades have nothing to do with challenge except for the ones that are just "deal more damage to ".
Jason Ramirez
Require Origin thus never deserve my money.
Oliver Myers
Looks like shit, and misses the point of the first game's art style.
Matthew Allen
>faith is smoking hot which
Nathaniel Miller
I don't like the art style this time. It's too futuristic instead of the minimalist contrasting colors with white
Easton Campbell
them fucking lips
Caleb Foster
>misses the point the point of the first was half assed art style because EA refused to allow for extra dev time or resources
Jordan Reed
stop making this thread EA shills
Landon Evans

go play antichamber
Jace Foster
>multiplayer games on Origin can do well but they often utterly fail like Titanfall >singleplayer games with Denuvo on steam lose sales because there are a lot of people like me who believe that Denuvo is a sign of cash grabbing with a mediocre product. Witcher games have sold completely well without DRM. DOOM had a problem early on where people asked "is it good?" because they don't want to put 50 dollars on a singleplayer title.
Mirrors Edge Catalyst: >hey lets put a singleplayer game with no marketing on Origin with Denuvo so the dirty pirates can't check if the games is worth getting even on sale, or hell even create discussion
Gee, I truly wonder why Catalyst is a blunder.
Daniel Edwards
>Hi I'm backed into a corner where I have no other option but to spout bullshit
Jack Rivera
>backed into a corner by your lack of ability to argue? for sure dude
Nolan Cruz
>I'll even play it off like I kept my cool the entire time
Aaron Sullivan
mirror edge 1 is a dystopian world with current technologies
the reboot it set in the future
Adrian Moore
I didnt even know the game was released
Jackson Parker
>this game >out Choose one in the average gamer's mind. EA is too used to their big titles printing money that they don't realize you have to market some games.
Josiah Baker
Opinion was slid before the game even came out for whatever reason that it was actually worse than the first, and it got no marketing whatsoever. It's doomed to sell terribly thanks to hurtful reviews as well.
Parker Williams
That's one hell of an argument you got there jim
Grayson Morris
>She looks better than she did in the first. That's for sure. I can tell you were a real fan of Mirror's Edge.
Why does your opinion even matter again when your attitude is so obviously crap?
Daniel Jones
I miss ME1 Faith. She was ugly-cute.
Jackson Thomas
>EA
Lincoln Bennett
this. also her VA was better
Austin Smith
funfact: her original VA is actually in the game, just as random billboard shit.
Nathan Miller
Unlock all abilities at the start, make it cost at least 40 dollars and people would buy it. It's not a le cult classic like some fags keep saying here.
Robert Morris
It's not on Steam.
Your average gamer's going to check the Steam storefront and see that Mirrors Edge Catalyst isn't there.
Then they'll see it's only on Origin and they'll be like "meh" because they'll rather have all their games in one place.
Nolan Bailey
No the story is shit like the first none. Rest is true
Caleb Barnes
You should've seen the other thread It was Anita and mattress girl left and right and the occasional wait, its out? Showcasing how good of a job ea did once again with the advertising.
Samuel Hall
>Showcasing how good of a job ea did once again with the advertising. we must not be the target audience.
Jack Reyes
I KNEW IT! I FUCKING KNEW IT I thought it was my head playing tricks on me since its been so long since I've played me1
It goes something like "Challenge the grid, try silvine" or something like that, you can hear it on the closest billboard to The Lair.
Landon Walker
>people enumerate their complaints thread after thread >why no one like this game
Is true mystery of our age.
Colton Thompson
I plan on picking it up a bit later because I liked Mirrors Edge but I didn't love it.
Also this. A thousand times this. If you've never noticed there are games you just "aren't allowed" to talk about on Sup Forums then you're new or a tard.
Colton Hernandez
>people spread misinformation thread after thread >game comes out >judge game with misinformation over and over Ftfy
at this point just wait a little longer, I'm sure it'll drop price again.
Anthony Adams
i gameshared with my friend today and got this for free, along with every other game and psplus.
Mason Ramirez
>It's not a le cult classic like some fags keep saying here. No one said this game is. The first game was. It got a lot of positive reviews at the time of release, despite not having a big playerbase.
Ayden Morris
It has Denuvo and there's no way I'm buying anything for Origin.
Lincoln Stewart
What did waifu shits say for the first one? Cause she looks nothing like her in game model, more like an ugly mutant Asian hermit
Jeremiah Morales
>gameplay has been dumbed down to appeal to complete retards >padded shit >open world is garbage and no one asked for it >graphics are shit >story is shit >faith looks okay
