I think it shows promise, the core gameplay looks pretty decent, but they still need to put a lot of work into the art and animation.

It will be O.K. People won't be impressed with 20 years old Metroidvania gameplay desu. I don't expect it to rock our world.

Hasn't shown any outright obvious signs of it being trash like MN9 did.
Time will tell.

It'll be mediocrity like every Metroidvania. I buy everyone and they are worth it but it's nice to space them out. Real easy to see how shallow they are if you chain them.

I backed both MN9 and Bloodstained. I knew back in the beta test that MN9 was going tro be shit. It deviated so far from the original test sample that the red flags were already raised. But from the tests and videos of Bloodstained, everything seems consistent so far. The model quality is good, the lighting system doesn't look like shit. I think it has potential to be cheesy, but overall it will likely be a really good callback to Symphony of the Night.

I think it will be what backers want. That type of game is not for me, but I'm glad this game exists. I got burned hard by Mighty No 9 though, so maybe I just want something like this to succeed.

At least I've gotten more enjoyment out of my collection than from MN9.
