Would this effect Flareon in anyway?

Will never happen because Pokemon fans are autistic and therefore terrified of change.

The fifth "move"is either an ability or HM

Indifferent because stealth rock is the only move that matters

Your Flareon? Up to you.

In general? No it's a never used tier shit with no competitive viability

5th is probably just a HM slot right?

It's about god damn time.

This is great. With all the status/setup shit like stealth rock and rapid spin it's great to not lose two slots by default with certain pokemon.

I'm more than just okay with this.

Welp, so much for that.

5 moves: broken or it's fine?

>three growls

WHAT

HOLY FRICK YOU GUYS

Broken at first, but people will adjust to it just fine.

how would you fix flareon?

First four lines = Moves
Fifth line = Description of the move that's highlighted

They introduce broken shit every gen. It's not like they really care

Gen 2
>hold items

Gen 3
>abilities

Gen 4
>physical/special based on action, rather than type

Gen 5
>lol I forgot

Gen 6
>mega evolutions

Great
remove IVs and Pokemon will be enjoyable again

The last slot is to hold the description of a new move when you are teaching a pokemon a new one.

>Gen 5

Hidden abilities I suppose. That and Weather

Should be at least 6-8 by now, but 5 is a start.

I'm pretty sure they nerfed weather duration in 5th Gen. Maybe that's what you meant.

They introduced Weather in Gen V.
Besides, 5 moves isn't a new mechanic like the things you listed but rather a change in the core mechanics.

I'm gonna love overpowered Pokémon being even more overpowered.

It's not like I like using my favorite Pokémon or anything.

>Charm
>Sleeping Powder
>Harden
>Pound
>Pound

>They introduced Weather in Gen V.
No, shit like Castform had it previously. Gen V just made weather OP.

More speed. Natural Flare Blitz. A priority Fire move. Just use Talonflame.

Completely wrong. Weather's effects have been around since gen II

Dedicated HM slots would be revolutionary.

>TFW I won't have to dedicate one or two of my mons to be dedicated HM slaves.
Would be nice as fuck.

cosby.jpg

No, weather abilities were the same as they were in previous gens in Gen 5. Weather was a problem since drought/drizzle teams with ninetails/politoed everywhere in OU for a while. The change was in Gen 6 for it being 5 turns.

Should it be field-use only or battle as well?

>any Pokemon that can learn HM moves gets a fifth move
>any Pokemon that can't learn HM moves will just have to deal with having four moves
Fucking fifthmove privileged cis scum

I heard only Synchro Megas would get the fifth move

>field-use only

that would mean the removal of good HM moves like surf, they would have to add replacement moves for that

This is the weirdest bait thread I've seen in a while... I mean, there are people stupid enough to somehow dream something like this up and/or believe it but... I.. I like to think that they can't post so coherently.

>Natural Flare Blitz.
it already gets it
>A priority Fire move.
that'd be nice
>Just use Talonflame.
This.
>More speed.
But sadly, he will remain shit for the rest of time for this reason alone

Funny enough, though, back when GF held that Eevee friendly tournament thing, Flareon was actually the most used, because all other eevees are special based and have paper-thin defense

No I mean if you still want to use Surf as a battle move, you add it to one of the four main slots, but if you only want it for field use, you add it to the fifth slot.

I know that sounds retarded, which is why I'm wondering where this idea came from in the first place. I'm only discussing it because I'm trying to rationalize it.

Why won't they bring back seasons.

FFS

Because waiting to catch the pokemon you want is dumb, and having to fuck with your ds clock every time is annoying

I hope they've nerfed Knock Off.

It fucks over too many Pokémon and everyone and their mother learn it.

It wasn't really anything special, it just locked you up of specific areas/Pokémon if you weren't playing in a specific month. I guess the same could be said about day/night cycles, but at least you didn't have to wait as long.

hilarious and original joke my friend!

That's nice. I like moves.

was it 2? i thought it was introduced in sapphire and ruby?

Yes, 2.

>implying the fifth slot won't be for the synchro gauge

just in battle for gen 2

My feelings on it depend entirely if I want to go competitive in it or not. Right now I'm thinking it's gonna be a pain in the ass because everything will have so much shit. Greninja's going to be even more of a nightmare because he can have 5 different type moves.

We are getting pokemon battles on motorcycles too?

Gen 8

He's referring the anime which has a Greninja which has synchronized with Ash, allowing it to transform into Ash-Greninja.
This will likely be a new feature in the game.

So what? What the fuck is this?

>all Mons could potentially have protect now
WHAT

Bottom line is probably a description of the move.

What
the
fuck

bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Ash's_Greninja

but that space proves nothing m8

Gen IV was the special pokeballs right?

Special Pokeballs have existed since Gen 2.

All they do is make capture easier. Doesn't do a damn thing about battling.

Special balls since Gen2 with the Appricorns

Move Slot 1
Move Slot 2
Move Slot 3
Move Slot 4
HM Move Slot

...

No but it did have ball customization

Then why show it when you're selecting a pokemon to send out to battle?

>only 6 HMs
>every pokemon can learn every hm
I need this. I get that HMs are necessary for preventing players from progressing where they arent supposed to. And having Fly only learnable by pokemon that can fly makes sense, but having arbitrary limitations on which pokemon can do which HM is stupid. Like feraligatr not being able to use waterfall. Why.

indifferent

Surf, Strength and Fly are strong moves that would be useful in battle

I thought he meant an HM slot that would be separate from the in-battle moves and would allow you to have HM with crippling the 'mon with Cut. Five moves wouldn't fit on the screen.

wasn't surf nerved awhile back?

In Gen 4 surf was changed to be able to hit allies in group battles, and in Gen 6 its power was changed from 95 to 90, but neither of these are really that bad.

Item slot

I wish they'd bring back the seasons aesthetically, it was fun to see the seasonal appearances of the region. As long as it didn't lock out certain areas.

given how gen six you couldn't make heads or tails of the day/night cycles it might be better it's gone

If the 5th move slot is HM field use only, then it doesnt quite nullify the usefulness of an HM slave thereby making the slot useless. It would be best just to have 5 move slots instead of 4. And that's it. And it seems like that is what it is. So fuck yeah! FINALLY!

I suppose so, I just like seeing slight changes in the game.

Please give Marowak an evolution this time. Please Game Freak and Nintendo. Don't ignore the best Pokemon any longer. I'd even settle for one of those shitty temporary evolutions.

They can have protect now, just you need to spend a slot. Still if five moves is a thing this is a HUGE change for VGC since it's basically +33% instead of +25% in singles.

>best

They won't be conventional moves. It would shatter the meta and widen the power gap even further.

They might be supplementary moves or something.

...

special pokeballs don't affect the metagame you dumb nigger

Did they mention how the bank will work with

gen I?

I'm not seeing the issue.
People have been asking for an HM slot/item replacement for HMs for a while

They change shit in Pokemon all the time.

Why are pokemon forced to only use 4 moves anyway?

Which pokemon is the comfiest to play? I was thinking about emulating

we DBZ now

HG/SS

Maybe a 5th is for an HM move that can't be used in battle??
Or the human pokemon morph thing..

I honestly believe it's because they wanted to fit within the Game Boy's small screen size, while still being user-friendly to the kids.

I know that there are a few GB RPGs with fuckhuge battle menus, but Pokemon was specifically geared towards kids.

There are restrictions that are made in Pokemon battle.

Gen 2 and 3 (both original and remakes) and White.

Fucking finally. They're starting to phase out a mechanic that was there since the original Gameboy.

Now if they could just get around 8 moves. Then it would be perfect.

An old Game Boy Mechanic. They kept it around for future games too. Same thing with PP (Power Points).

HMs have no reason to f ucking exist. just give players key items that progress the story
