Yes, it is. Shovel Knight is $15.
Yeah it is better than nothing I suppose
Yes it is, Overwatch is $40
It's not worth playing for free
You would have to pay me to play that game.
Yeah it is, Danganronpa 2 is $30
Price cut when?
Yes, it is. Dust: An Elysian Tail is $15.
It tries too hard to be Mega Man and ends up looking like a bootleg
Yes, it is. You can emulate the Mega Man games for free.
I pirated it and it still wasn't worth it. And I have unlimited bandwidth.
Without attaching a price to the software, it's not something you will want to play more than once, and at best only though some sort of obligation or denial.
ITT new meme
>You wouldn't download a MN9
Most likely during the Steam Summer Sale in 2 days.
>Shovel Knight is $15.
Shovelware Knight is not worth 4 bucks
fucking 2D parody of Ducktales
>unlimited bandwidth.
Who doesn't?
its ugly, pc saves dont work despite the 2015 debug verson saving just fine,
oh and it sometimes bricks wiiUs
It's very inoffensive and pretty entertaining. If not for the drama behind it it would probably be like a 7 or 8/10
For $20, it's better than nothing.
>If you have a brazilian credit card on steam the Mighty N.9 is for sale for 9 dollars
$10 and it's easily the best Metroidvania I've played in a long time, even more enjoyable than Ori in some cases. Sure it's only like 3 hours long but so is MN9.
Yes, i am so mad i am remaking it in UE4 with their assets
No, it's not. Especially when considering there's the Steam summer sale happening soon.
>$20
WHAT?!
>Terrible enemy placement
>Bullshit insta-deaths
SHUT. YOUR FUCKING. MOUTH.
Lots of prom-night anime fans in this thread I see....
Okay so it's not just me, then? I was in the oil refinery level with those crumbling pillars that insta-kill you, while using collapsing platforms to traverse, while turrets rain fireballs in random patterns. I'm not the only one who saw that as bullshit.
>mfw one user remakes this game and makes it better with less money and time
Yes, it is. Katawa Shojo is free.
I could list ten thousand games that cost $20 or less and are better than Inafune's tax scam.
The backers themselves didn't help any as they cried for fucking MN9 versions of Zero or Protoman and voted in NotRoll in what was most likely a rigged poll to begin with. The backers helped shape it into the watered down version of an MMX game. The lukewarm response to the game is karma for all this. Enjoy your knockoff wannabe game. Go back to enjoying your shitty fanmade games now where you can live forever in constant Megaman remake heaven since that is all you want in life.
>muh indieshits are bad maymay
lol have fun with your butchered DuckTales remastering and Mighty Dumper 9, I can pay $15 dollars for a game that has a solid base game and a free expansion that's better. And I'll still be getting that free Spectre Knight and King Knight expansions in the mean time.
You don't have to pay for nothing.
Canadacucks?
I payed less than that for mount and blade.
I like not-Megaman's design. He looks pretty nifty.
They didn't have a single programmer in the studio.
They didn't use version control.
They passed around files on usb sticks
Americans.
I really hope something comes from this. I'd love to see what this game would have been like if it were actually good. That reminds me, anyone want this? I already played the leaked build a while back, so I have no need for this.
Damn dude you are pretty mad. Good luck with the game tho
C-can I have it? I had fun with the demo but didn't wanna back it
:3
>hiding your key
Would you really be worse off if someone took the game from you?
I wouldn't even pay $10 for this
should i pirate it or even that is not worth it?
It's kinda bad. Worth it if you're interested in finding out what's wrong with it and how someone can fuck up a Megaman game.
>you wouldn't steal mighty number 9
Consider suicide
I completely forgot about this game but I can attest to this. Bought it because of the amazing pixel art and it was well worth it. The atmosphere is super nice, gameplay is solid and fun, and the bosses can actually be quite a challenge. OST is great too. I wonder why it's never mentioned in Sup Forums
Dumb aqua poster
the skeleton came with it so i can rig it and create some small animations, hopefully i can get her arms converted soon.
Ontop of that there are like a million guides for side scrollers so i am hoping to do a proof of concept by recreating the tutorial level
Godspeed, you magnificent bastard.
ay, so i looked into it, it seems that the ingame models are "baked" to prevent them from being exported, so im going with plan b and simply using 3d ripper to grab the goods,.
Too late. I'm not paying for this piece of shit
No, I mean you literally wouldn't. No one would, not worth the time.
Dont do that,takes to long
use this: gildor.org
Is the update out yet?
>fucking 2D parody of Ducktales
There was a 3D Ducktales?
ah, cool, i see it has an uncook option, this is good
shovel shit is slow and easy as hell. I hate mn.9 as much as the next guy (I backed it) but namedropping shovelmeme does you no favors.
Maybe not, but why would I spend time and money on 'not that bad' when I could spend it on 'good' instead?
Yes it is, LIMBO is free right now.
WHERE THE FUCK IS MY PHYSICAL COPY THAT I PAID MY HARD EARNED 60 SHEKELS FOR?!
So what's wrong with this game?
>its bad
Well no shit you already said that, but why is it bad
Because it's better than nothing user.
What happened to the cartoon?
I just finished it.
I think the fact that you have to dash through enemies to actually kill them and get some sort of boost after doing so was cool, there were some levels that were actually fun to play because of this mechanic, but this is ruined because all levels have a slow tedious section that completely breaks the pace of the player as you're killing hordes of enemies then you're just stopped to do some shitty plataforming.
Because of this i'm pretty sure Inafune wasn't sure if he wanted to do a NES megaman game or a Megaman Zero game, it's a weird mix of the two and i don't really like that.
Also most of the boss abilities are crap, like you're better off just using the normal blaster, which is a shame because these abilities do improve how shitty beck looks, most of the robots look pretty cool, i'll give the game that.
What i won't give MN9 is that they threw away the cool designs completely off the window by having one of the worst visuals of any game i've seen this generation, and to top it off, the framerate sucks too.
It's pretty cheesy and i definitely cringed in some parts of the "story" because the dialogue was pretty bad, but the voice acting was pretty okay, i'll give them that.
it's a pretty mediocre game, i don't think it's the worst game ever but it could have been so much better.
Shovel Knight costs $15...
Anyone know what time in the livestream "it's better than nothing" is said?
>Because of this i'm pretty sure Inafune wasn't sure if he wanted to do a NES megaman game or a Megaman Zero game, it's a weird mix of the two and i don't really like that.
this, just take a look at his first sketch or ray, its just zeros head slapped on protomans body
Apparently Inafune never actually said this, it was some journalist who started the rumor that he did
The game's core mechanic, dashing through enemies for bonuses, is neat in concept but flawed in execution.
It compels you to be reckless, which is inevitably going to cause you to fall into the numerous instant death electricity pits and take heavy damage from stupid shit you wouldn't normally, which makes the whole experience needlessly frustrating.
It's actually rather fun to dash about and tear through enemies as a purely visceral thing, but it's also at odds with the level design, because there are corridors where you get to dash and absorb xel a lot but then precision platforming that's easy to fuck up with your dash. When you pile these problems on top of its absolutely shit aesthetics and passable everything else, it's not great.
No, it looks like the "it's better than nothing" is his translator's personal comment, but he did it right after translating Inafune, so it sounds like it is part of Conman's translated speech. Another PR blunder all around.
DuckTales is $15, yet is 100x the game Limpy No.9 is.
also, everyone knows this just by looking at any mn9 gameplay, but the dash is pretty op, it should have been nerfed, i get that it's to "make combos" but who the fuck cares about that in a plataformer, jesus fuck what was Inafune thinking?
Yeah, his Zero/protoman boner will never fade, he should have been honest with himself and the fans and make a Megaman Zero succesor instead of a megaman succesor, that way he would actually be interested in completing the project instead of forcing himself to finish it.
I guess he was caught up in the feeling of wanting to "revive" the megaman franchise at around the same time everyone else was when capcom cancelled like 3 MM games in a year.
>Better than nothing.
Well THAT'S debatable.
>It compels you to be reckless
Being bad at a game it's not a good excuse to say a game is bad, i do agree that the dashing mechanic is really flawled, but it's not flawled because it tells the player to spam it and get hit because of it.
it's bad because the game is not entirely made around it, sometimes in some levels you have to do some slow boring plataforming and suddenly you're back to the dashing action just to be taken back to the boring plataformer, the game doesn't knows what it wants to do exactly with the dashing mechanic and just justifies it by having a "combo" system which nobody cares about.
What they should have done is just design the levels around the dashing mechanic instead of mixing the two gameplay styles together and making a really frustrating mess
I'm with you on this. It's by no means great, but it is definitely a $20 game.
Stages, when they work, are pretty fun, but they always bog down at some point. The dialog is not great, but it's silly in a corny way; I can see what they were trying to do be didn't quite succeed.
My main problem is with boss fights, though. Few are fun, others are just tedious.
I'm playing the Steam version, and the only bug I've hit is a sound volume problem that I'm not entirely sure is the game or my shitbox Windows Vista toaster.
Anyone have that one song that has all the backers shouting "I AM MIGHTY"
I need a good laugh.
Jesus christ what kind of bullshit unprofessional translator did they hire
Yeah no. I'll save my $20 for something that isn't rampaging horse shit.
Like a bag of manure for my garden.
...
Well they also hired Dina.
true
For that money you could get Mega Man 9 and 10.
Anyone got that budget comparison image?
I just installed this game on my laptop running windows 10 and I can't get past this popup. What do I do?
My DS3 wasn't recognized and i had to use xpadder to play
>in the year 2016
They're trying to warn you
don't do it
I like it a whole lot as a game but it doesn't fucking run right on Wii U.
If they get it to run right, I think it's a very decent spiritual successor but it went too heavy on the bullshit insta-kills.
Is there one beyond the one that was released the morning/early afternoon of launch (before DS came forward?
I don't know. It feels like there's a decent game under there somewhere, but it just feels so fucking unpolished.
The game would be better if it didn't have the dashing into enemies mechanic. Half the time it gets you damaged from something behind what you're trying to assimilate. It's like Inafune decided to design an entire game based around Charge Kick from MM5.
Does Pyrogen really have 3 instakills? Holy shit that is cheap and lazy.
dont know if bait or retarded
Too scared to download it on my WiiU heard it's bricking systems
It's fucking 100% more convenient once you get a special weapon.
I've beaten 5 bosses and 4 of them make the dash mechanic work better.
The weird thing about MN9 is a lot of this shit could have been prevented.
A few things, including:
>Dashing absolutely screwing up the flow of the game. Its fine when there is not a lot of hardcore platforming and it is just going through mooks. However, when the game requires it for platforming it shows its ugly head for being annoying to control and inaccurate.
>No wall jump causes you to fall to your death way more then it should because of said dashing ability. If this used the MMX style of saving yourself (Which is what the majoriy of the game is designed after, more then Mega Man), then it would not be nearly as bad.
>Beck feels floaty, to the point where it feels like every place is a ice level. Controls are important to a MM/MMX style game, and it feels sloppy all around and not as tight to control. Also god forbid if you are actually on ice.
>Bosses are tedious and not fun. Also, enemies are too much of bullet sponges due to said dashing mechanic. This becomes problematic when it is a flying enemy in a area where dashing would not be the best option, but is required.
>Obvious graphics downgrade from the first 2.5D trailer. Some stages look alright, but you can tell they did this for the 3DS/Vita versions.
>Unless I am mistaken, enemies do not drop health. This is a issue in some areas.
The music is good, and there are some areas that are fun, but the platforming is absolute garbage.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU CROUCH DASH
THIS SHIT IS INFURIATING
I KEEP DYING FROM MARGIN OF ERROR
LET ME GET TO THE BOSS DAMNIT
Down + RB.
If you're on Seismic's stage, you have to hang off the side of the platform.
