I'll start: Dragon's Dogma.

>tfw pirated subnautica, papers please, enter the gungeon, super hexagon, rabi rabi, luftrausers, stardew valley, rogue legacy, nuclear throne and had fun with none of them
>tfw pirated serious sam 3 bfe and enjoyed the second half of it

Is the best way of getting to know that you have to make sure it's working now I am a beautiful day to day and night of the most important to me to the front office the same time I was just a little bit about me to the front office at my place to live a lot more fun than the average price.

Your taste is pretty shit OP, I'd recommend killing yourself and trying again.

I feel like dragon's dogma could've been so much better if they allowed you to customize all 4 pawns. As is, I feel absolutely no connection to the online pawns and all it did was make sure people would stop playing once servers shut down.

>shit taste

go back to playing your VNs, fat ass.

Commit suicide.

I've played a few hours of DD, does it pick up after you fight the hairy troll thing after delivering the Hydra's head? its really just kinda boring so far.

dark souls... sorry but its really bad and i cant even see the game even at brightest settings

cuck.

Wait what? Are bots getting back into my head of a cat to get to see the movie is a great time in my opinion

Its one of the best TP action games of all time.

That's exactly where it picks up, after you come back from the catacombs(or whatever the fuck it's called) I also dropped it at that point but then came back because my friend persuaded me. It gets pretty good

you need to get your eyes checked

I bought Dragon's Dogma twice and disliked it both times

ah damn really? I died to the troll/whatever and stopped for a while. I guess I'll try again.

...

None because I'm not retarded enough to buy something when there's a myriad of footage out there and ways to see if I will like it or not.

You should consider suicide OP, you're too fucking stupid to function properly.

You mean after you do that guild quest, where you have to go down that 5 mile long spiral staircase?

It gets even more boring after that.

Not OP but I just started DD like two days ago and that's exactly where I am now. I was really hoping it would pick up from here because I was finding it a little dull so far. I guess I'll keep pushing along.

>DD pros:
the core combat system for everyone but melee classes is amazing
the pawn system is neat
every big monster feels like a boss fight
>DD cons:
ugly as shit
dumb story
dumb quests
everything else is janky and is straight out of 2006

...

the thing that will always bother me with this game is
>stat grow is tied to the classes
who taught this was a good idea?

However dumb you might be is only hinted at by the fact that you assume to have been "tricked" into thinking that you would like the game, and also blame the game as well, instead of realizing that the game simply might not have ever been for you.
Something easily checked by watching a fucking youtube video.
And the cherry on top is that you needed to make a thread about it.

As I said, the depths of your idiocy are only roughly imaginable, but they are probably pretty deep.

So I should buy TW3?

I kept dying to it, then I made a Warrior and it's so much more enjoyable when you actually deal damage. Fighting dragons/drakes is amazing in that game.

wait melee is bad? isnt that what most people would be playing on their first playthrough? and isnt one of the big selling points the climbing system?

Yes

No

I'm so excited to go out with a lot of fun to play it the same first name is the only way

The one that starts with the shitty short sword? I think i traded that in for a greatsword and im still doing shit damage

maybe

Maybe

the climbing system is the same for just about everything, the real problem with melee is that the skills are repetitive and not nearly as interesting as spells

God only knows what retarded or hypocritical shit you like if you think Dragon's Dogma is bad.

can you repeat the question?

My friend has it. He said it was good

I meant the Greatsword one. I use two mage pawns, one with the elemental enchantments and one for healing/damaging spells.
You basically need the enchantments to deal damage.

...

>I HATE NEW STUFF
>I HATE NEW IDEIAS
>MAKE YOUR GAME COMPLETELY LIKE THIS OTHER GAMES OR ITS SHIT! SHIIIIIT!

>All those comparisons to games it's nothing like
It really doesn't matter if it's a game I like or not, but this kind of stuff always bothers me. And it's not like those games invented the open world gimmick, climbing, or any of that. Why not just say that its mechanics are flawed and explain why?

I am a beautiful person who is the best way to get the best way to get the most important part of my closest friends and family members to get to know about the date of purchase.

You willing to part with a spare copy?

(you)

Buy Horizon today! Power to the players! Preorder at Gamestop.

yeah I was originally going to make the main group of characters from Berserk, playing as Guts with Schierke and Farnese as mages then Serpico as a light fighter, but then I found out you can only customize 2 pawns. Kinda ruined shit for me.

Has anyone played the Dragon Age series? How's the character customization?

I am having a hard time getting into DD.

Doing a few quests around grand soren but the world feels kind of empty.

I'll see your Dragon's Dogma and raise you RDR.

I didn't like the voice actor for the main char. He just had a boring voice to me

It was more fun my second playthrough there's a lot of content that can be missed while you're barreling towards the end of the game. Like i missed the whole cult quest that takes you into the catacombs outside gran soren.

...

You have plenty of options with your looks, but there's only three races and classes to pick. Some of which are outright better than others. As for the overall series, first Dragon Age is only ok that's remembered highly for being the last "good" Bioware game, and the other two games suck.

To be honest, the game never picks up until the final boss.
There's only one good area in the game, it's Soulflayer Canyon.
BBI is alright, nothing fantastic but itt's the best part of the game.

There, I saved you 100 hours, the game never gets as good as people want you to believe, it was just overhyped by console players who don't know any better.

>DD has bad combat
>DD has bad graphics
>Say Skyrim is a good RPG

How to lose all your credibility.

Dark Souls.

Sloppy mechanics, Shit leveling system, pseudo difficulty, horrible map design, awful soundtrack, and literally never had an ounce of fun.

I will never understand the shit pile that is that game let alone how it got 2 more games.

how can people be so wrong

you just don't get it man

Dark Souls had some of the best level design (On a macro level) of any game I've ever played. There were plenty of secrets and hidden paths, and almost every area is connected to at least 2 others. Thats one of the biggest pros most people list about the game.

It is true that it was really unpolished tho. The 2nd one fixed a lot of issues but had worse world design and the 3rd brought back the good worlds that the 1st had. I'm really enjoying the 3rd one currently.

I cant fucking stand Skyrim's combat. Its so clunky and unnatural.

New Vegas for me

It is aimed at a really niche audience, and while i think is not a bad product overall i find it really boring. RPGs in general tend to dissapoint me, but NV was allways praised on Sup Forums so i had to try it out, came out as a really "meh" experience

Dark Souls

elaborate

Did you reach New Vegas?
The first few hours can be pretty boring if you don't know what you're doing

Shit taste: The thread

I thought 120 hours would have been enough to get it but I never managed to enjoy the game to its fullest. It felt like the game tried to be so much at once and ended up being alright to bad on everything.
Even the combat which people praise felt severely limited with only a half dozen skills available at once and a lack in enemy variety.

Yeah the beginning can be pretty slow, but if you're not into RPGs you probably shouldn't have bought one.

You played it about as much as I did and I see you also made a buff dwarf character, so I'll be civil.

The idea that it tried to be "so much at once" is incorrect and probably a product of marketing and hype.
What is it that it's trying to do? It's an open-world (not sandbox) action RPG. There's nothing extraneous tacked on in the process.
The combat is good if limited, especially if you main a warrior as I see you did, but you can freely change classes and are meant to do so.
The world is small but well crafted and, compared to almost any other RPG, incredibly realistic and consistent.

I won't keep rambling. I think DD is so polarizing because so much of what makes it great is pretty subtle, like the level design and the incredibly deep AI of pawns that isn't presented well at all but is there nonetheless.

Dragonage inquisition.

All of that false advertisement that they've done.
youtube.com/watch?v=AAAEUFjq2K4
>cutscene at the beginning isn't even in the game

Well i played and loved DA:O, take that as you will, i did enjoy that one

I finished the game with Yes Man once, and i just coudn't care about the other factions, i didn't ignore them though, i reached each one and i felt like "Well, if i'm taking over New Vegas for myself, it would make sense to eliminate the competition" so i got myself into some huge firefights that i enjoyed but there were plenty of long stretches of time where nothing was happening and walking through the wasteland while pretty it really worn out its welcome some hours in

I started the game again after that and decided to help everyone and side with Mr. House (I don't like the NCR or the Legion) but after helping the BoS and reaching the Boomers my interest just went down and i stopped playing is like i had no reason to do anything after killing Benny

I feel like there is a lot of disconnected pieces in New Vegas to the point where it felt like "WHAT WILL THE COURIER FIND IN THIS EPISODE"?

I'm not saying it is bad, but it certainly did a good job boring me. The combat also felt sluggish and i didn't like the bullet-sponge enemies toward the end

I have to do something this weekend. I am a person for the first time too. The website, but I think it is the best way to get it.

I'll tell you the problem: New Vegas is trying to be a classic CRPG while being constrained by the open world meme.
If you liked DA:O then you do like RPGs, you just probably don't like open world shit which plagues modern RPGs. Try some older stuff.

Dragons dogma dark arisen

He's my pawn but I have played every class except the magic ones

Also, the world may be "small and well-crafted", it's pretty boring to explore and fight in. I found the combat to only really shine in the more linear areas, namely Soulflayer Canyon, the crypt under the city, some parts of BBI, that temple behind the waterfall where you gather some heavy as fuck stoneplates or something and that ruin where you hunt the griffin and alter the wizard, sorry I can't remember all the names. The overworld is super boring and felt like unnecessary padding with some random enemies copy-pasted everywhere.

I have 4 other friends who bought the game when it was released on PC and god knows if they've played worse stuff than this but I was the only one who reached the end, and then I kept pushing forward all the way to BBI 2.0, looking for that thrilling experience I never found.

It's not bad, I'd never say that, but it was average+ and only really gets interesting at the end and during the post game + BBI, that's if you can bear the boring storyline until you get to that part.

>[A] Bow Mode

What the fuck is that control scheme

Azerty keyboard

BBI was the best part of the game. It's especially fun to do low level playthroughs of that. Beating Gazer at like level 30 because of throwblasts is great.

Seriously throwblasts are way too strong.

You gave it more than a fair shake, so agree to disagree.

DD is a decent game but I hate Offline MMOs so I gave it a pass for the long run.

People who can put up with that shit have alotta fun, so no hate.

Who wrote this, holy shit

Have you met your skeleton removal quota today, Sup Forums?

i got 20 hours in, never finished

It never really picks up. Best things are the AI/pawns and some late game twists which are still stupid.

I just wish you could create multiple pawns. I want to make a party of my real-life friends.

MEMES

Like?

Obsidian's other games, Bioware's older games, Black Isle, Troika, Larian.

Played this back when I had a PS3, good times. Thinking of picking it up for PC, but how are the controls? Do anons recommend keyboard and mouse or gamepad?

Thanks user, hope i can have a good time

Gamepad is far better than kb+m

Atelier Totori.

Everyone calls Atelier games comfy, but it was just boring.

Made for gamepads, no real plus side to mouse and keyboard for this game.

Comfy vagoo

>except the magic ones

The magic classes are the most fun, though. I don't usually play mages in RPGs but Dragon's Dogma makes you feel like a top tier sorcerer.

It depends on your class.
Mages are pretty boring from the start and are really just meant for to be a pawn class.
Fighters are ok and striders are pretty fun.

But once you get to the main city you can change your class at lvl 10 to more fun classes.

I had fun. Fuck you.

>stalker
every time there is a thread on Sup Forums everyone praises every aspect of it so I decided to try it. Looks and plays like shit, no fucking idea whats going on, translation is terrible, I fall down some hole then this fucking moleman starts slurping and grunting while cheesy heavy metal plays and he flops towards me. Cant believe I fell for this fucking meme. The only way this game could be good is if it was modded so heavily you couldnt even tell it was STALKER

fug you OP, the game is great

I fell for the meme and don't regret it at all.

Nostalgia faggotry is a disease for this reason and this reason alone
>Every MGR thread is filled with "Why isn't this game DMC/Ninja Gaiden"

Do it faget

nice copypast baitmaster

Play shadow of chernobyl first, with mods. The first is the best game.

>ever doing a modded first playthrough of any game
Other than bugfixes and shit, of course.
